Like how you felt after qualifications & then exactly how y’all found out about what Simone was going thru & when you realized you’d have to go in & what your thoughts & emotions were like in that moment. I was holding my breath watching you and they cheering loudly. Simone’s support for you made me cry. I was devastated for Jade but at least they’re changing the 30 second warm up rule now.

I'm so happy for your MyKayla that i cried watching this video too. I have to tell you a story. During prelims i was watching you compete and asked the universe how your Olympics would play out and i got a vision of you jumping up and down in a hotel room holding a silver medal. When i saw you crying after vault in prelims knowing that you didn't make the finals, i knew the Olympics were not over for you. You were going to get a silver medal and it seems certain to me without knowing how this would happen. When you were standing at the of the runway in vault finals ready for your first vault i knew this was it for you, you were going to take the silver medal. I've held off writing this story in the comments for months cause i'm lazy, but finally had to tell you. So happy for you and congratulations.

Every time I watch one of your videos it is so evident that gymnastics wasn’t just a dream for you but rather a calling. It was fate that brought you to the spirt and you let it guide and shape you into the superior gymnast that you’ve become. Your story is particularly unique and is one that will stay with many people and will be a source of motivation and inspiration for a long, long time. I know that writing a book is somewhat cliche these days as everyone seems to put one out but your story is worth writing and reading. Congratulations gurl, YOU DID IT!!
Thank you for continuing your videos. This has really inspired me to never give up even tho I’m terrified of starting university in September. I have thought about giving up gymnastics but I feel inspired to continue with it how ever hard it gets. Congrats on your team and individual medals

Everyone was saying they shouldn’t pick Mykayla for the team because we don’t need three vault specialists, that Simone-Jade 1-2 was a foregone conclusion. But you never know what will happen in competition and if it weren’t for Mykayla the US wouldn’t have a vault medal. She stepped up when there was a chance and it counted. Now the US medaled in every event, Team-Silver, AA-Gold, Vault-Silver, Bars-Bronze, Beam-Bronze, Floor-Gold. Congrats Mykayla!
Bars was bronze. But other than that yes.

Heat, jacuzzi, massage gun , foam roll out, and of course workout consistently to avoid being extremely sore even if it’s just a walk, swimming, yoga or just stretching.
MyKayla you have memories to last you a lifetime! I was a competitive gymnast, not olympic level, but I still treasure those moments!!

ugh man i'm a total mess. I am so grateful to have been apart of the most amazing experience of yours. This is something i'll never forget and hold in my heart forever. Being not from America it can be really difficult to find places that show the gymnastics, but was so glad i was able to watch your journey through your videos and USA gymnastics videos, so that i wasn't missing this awesome road. You are such an inspiration and the true definition of why to never give up. From the olympic trials, to making the olympics and winning the medal it made me feel so overly happy that you got to achieve your dreams because there is no one who deserved this more than you. i've never felt so emotionally connected to someone who lives on the other side of the world. I was beyond excited when I found out that you were competing in vault. And then when I found out that you got the silver metal I had chills down my spine in excitement and a couple of tears. You overcame some things to get where you were in the Olympics and then got that metal do you need to be very proud of yourself your coaches and your family. Your support here on TH-cam is also very excited to see your next chapter with you and Jonas. I’d love to see you do something with the TH-camr in the UK that does gymnastics challenges and he’s a former gymnast. I just can’t recall his name right now. It’s Nile Wilson. I was up at 3am in my room and when I tell you I sounded like a dad watching the Superbowl I am not exaggerating 😂 After each vault was followed by intense “C’mon Mykayla!!!!” and loud clapping. Hahaha I tried to be as quiet as possible for my family but something took over my body 😆

I remember watching your vlog before finals when you said you were going to go home. I'm so glad you didn't.
Have been in a place of reevaluating doing music. Moving to a different state, all the financial investment and exhaustion from working full time as a nurse on this journey just has had me in a very lonely/down place. After watching your video you reminded me that anything great comes from great sacrifice and after some rest maybe I can keep going 🥺😭. Honestly, when it was announced that Simone was withdrawing from vault finals, I cried for both you and Simone. Then when you ended up second, I cried again.
What a way to finish up your elite gymnastics career!
I watched everything you did real time (no matter how early in the morning), and I remember all of the moments. I remember the trials, and I remember being so sad that you weren't on the group team, but so excited that you weren't an alternate again, and that you were going to be an Olympian. I remember watching the all around and being so proud of everything you did. I remember crying when you didn't make the vault finals, but being so proud of you for getting there in the first place. The anticipation when Simone was stepping down from things, and knowing that it was awful for her, but also knowing that you might get to be in the finals. So incredibly bittersweet. I screamed when it was announced, seeing you on that roster of girls, and knowing you had a good chance to medal. Watching the finals was amazing, the suspense was crazy watching everyone go after you and seeing their scores pop up. When it got to the end and you were in second, I screamed and cried so hard for you! I was so happy, and my whole family knew it (I had been cheering for you all season). I'm so proud of you, MyKayla, and your story is one for the books. I hope your life post-Olympics continues to be fruitful and happy and amazing. You deserve it 💕

I remember waking up at four in the morning at my grandmas house and hiding under a blanket because I was sharing a room with my little sister and didn’t want to wake her up. As I was watching I was texting my other grandma who has woke up as well! Another memory I have of watching Mykayla is on the way down to the beach while Olympic Trials were happening and watching her compete in the restaurant we had stopped to get food at!
Would love to see a sit down with each of your coaches to talk about the experience of the trials and Olympics.

To be fair I think they have been really unnecessary harsh on her. I know she has an attitude but most of the time I agree with her
Vault finals were emotional for a number of reasons. When my parents say "Im glad I was able to watch it live" now I understand what this means.

This was my favorite part of the Olympics. Watching you (in my opinion) get robbed in 2016 and then come back with a vengeance left me in tears at 4am. Congratulations Myk!!
Also for soreness, eat lots of protein!! I found that it helps me be less sore after I do a hard run

I made my husband stay up until like 3 or 4 in the morning with me so we could see your vault. I was soooo excited just to see you there even if you didn't place. I saw you up first and I cried so hard. I literally had to force myself to stop crying just so I could see the screen. I was and still am so proud!!!!
I woke up at 3am for every competition and this was special because we had someone from our country competing for the first time. The whole thing was so emotional, you, Jade, Simone cheering, anyway, congratulations! 👏

After giving yourself a rest for a couple years would you consider coming back as a floor or vault specialist if you really wanted to?
I believed from the minute you announced your comeback, you would be an Olympian. I was in the minority, but I knew I was right. Over time everyone else saw what I always saw- you were going to be an Olympian.
