It’s because the people that placed higher than her had the same events that they were good at as Mykayla. they needed people that were good and reliable on bars/beam which is why Myk was put as alternate.

One of my friends’ daughter was on her way to being an elite gymnast, but she went to Martha’s camp on their ranch and she basically said “F this!” She went right before the Larry N stuff came out. She was/ is so talented, but she decided that she just wanted to be a normal kid and be with her friends & enjoy school. Her mom was disappointed, but whatever happened at camp really made her change her mind.
That she was able to recognize an abusive environment and stepped away from it, even if she loved re sport, says a lot about how you raised her. I hope she didn’t meet that awful man.
Ya know…Your legacy in gymnastics won’t be floor or vault. It will be beam. Having the damn beam routine of your freaking life when you took an Olympic punch to the gut 2 rotations before. Had it been the old format of 5 on the team, Myk would have not made the Olympics at all. It would have been Simone, Suni, Jordan, Grace, and Jade. Be glad for the 2020/2021 format that allowed the US to send 6 gymnasts instead of 5.

This year's Olympics overall have been terrible, not handled well and the lack of spectators has just made everything feel so off. Definitely dystopian future vibes. I'm so proud of you for how far you've come in your journey. I'm also so devastated that you weren't able to make an event final, I was really hoping that you'd medal. But I just want you to know, that even though you didn't make it to event finals, you're still an amazing gymnast, and still an Olympian. Thank you Jonas for the editting/visuals throughout this. Some of em made me laugh but i appreciated the pics, almost felt like a scrapbook of memories or something (a good thing!). I can't believe how many times Myk was an alternate! I've been following elite gym pretty closely since 2013 but man, did not realize it was that many times! Also a lot to be said about how much Myk improved over the years! I used to dislike her gymnastics and was mad critical of her but she's really turned me into a huge fan. So so so proud of her and how far she's come!
When they say, "GOOD THINGS COMES TO THOSE WHO WAIT". Yep. It happened to her this year. She won SILVER in an unexpectedly turn of events. Like faith tested her resilience first, before saying... "Yes. She waited for so long, I guess I ahve to give her the chance she have been waiting for!". Thats why we shoudl not lose hope, it must not be a good year for all of us this year...but we have more years ahead of us. :)

I was so nervous for trials then ecstatic when you made it to the Olympics then devastated for you about qualifying for finals and then so proud of how far you’ve come and how you held it together for the beam routine of your life and now you ARE going to be in the finals and I’m so happy I’m crying and girl it’s been a roller coaster but I’m freaking here for every minute. When I found out late last night when NBC announced it I jumped out of bed started screaming and scared the life out of my poor husband lol I have to be one of your biggest fans no joke and im seriously so grateful to be able to watch tour journey. Thank you Jonas for the editting/visuals throughout this. Some of em made me laugh but i appreciated the pics, almost felt like a scrapbook of memories or something (a good thing!). I can't believe how many times Myk was an alternate! I've been following elite gym pretty closely since 2013 but man, did not realize it was that many times! Also a lot to be said about how much Myk improved over the years! I used to dislike her gymnastics and was mad critical of her but she's really turned me into a huge fan. So so so proud of her and how far she's come!
When they say, "GOOD THINGS COMES TO THOSE WHO WAIT". Yep. It happened to her this year. She won SILVER in an unexpectedly turn of events. Like faith tested her resilience first, before saying... "Yes. She waited for so long, I guess I ahve to give her the chance she have been waiting for!". Thats why we shoudl not lose hope, it must not be a good year for all of us this year...but we have more years ahead of us. :)
The judges keep giving USA medals that Biles would have won. It's all an agenda.

You are one of the most tenacious gymnasts I know of. I am so happy that you are getting the opportunity to compete on vault and I hope you win a medal. In the beginning I thought you would not make it but after your run at Trials I thought it was a real possibility. You really would deserve it and you would really set an example that you need to follow your dream no matter what to prove people like me that doubted you wrong.

Mykayla I am sitting here in tears right now omg watching your journey has been incredible. As a viewer I have just been on a roller coaster of emotions. I was so nervous for trials then ecstatic when you made it to the Olympics then devastated for you about qualifying for finals and then so proud of how far you’ve come and how you held it together for the beam routine of your life and now you ARE going to be in the finals and I’m so happy I’m crying and girl it’s been a roller coaster but I’m freaking here for every minute. When I found out late last night when NBC announced it I jumped out of bed started screaming and scared the life out of my poor husband lol I have to be one of your biggest fans no joke and im seriously so grateful to be able to watch tour journey. GO GET YOU A MEDAL LOVE ❤️

It is absolutely frustrating the amount of times you were literally sabotaged throughout your career. The fact that you kept your head held high, persevered, and carried yourself with such class all these years shows your true character and is so so so inspiring. and THAT is what makes you a true Olympian.
