- Comeback queen! MyKayla Skinner won Silver at the Tokyo Olympics after stepping in for Simone Biles. Her dreams of taking home a medal came true after she crushed the gymnastics vault finals on Sunday. Simone cheered on MyKayla in the stands alongside teammates Jordan Chiles and Grace McCallum and Simone could not have looked happier to see her friend achieve a lifelong goal.

What an insane journey for her. Being bumped to alternate twice, not making the team but being brought as an individual, getting to Tokyo and not qualifying to compete, and still leaving with a silver medal around her neck. That's an Olympic story right there.

Ever thought about how the Olympics makes its money? The Olympics makes its money by selling exclusive broadcast licenses of its content to media companies (e.g. NBC for USA, BBC for UK), and then taking a generous cut (60-70%) of the ad revenue. So the commercial video broadcast content actually _is_ exclusive, but people like us are free to _talk_ about what happened at the Olympics.
It's even worse that I have access to NBC through hulu, but missed the showing. Now I can't even go back and watch a replay despite paying for it. Good job NBC! Guess I'll be able to watch it 6 months later.

The 2020 Women’s Gymnastics Team is gonna be an incredible and inspiring movie one day about mental health, persistence, global impact, the struggle and victory of the WHOLE team.
I love the college gymnastics spirit she brings to this sport. I love how gracious and humble she is, especially for how talented she is. A true leader in so many aspects. I also love how Simone cheered for her, and the clear love and respect they have for each other. Yay Mykayla!

Do y’all know because of Simone Biles stepping back from the Olympics that her team mates was able to still shine for the USA and receive medals rather gold or silver and yet she still celebrated with them as they receive their medals. Her husband was so supportive and proved through his quote. So touch! Her husband got it right: the medal was won every practice and every meal she ate right and every social function she denied herself and her husband. That's elite athletics regardless of sport.

Mckayla was robbed of an Olympic spot in Rio 2016, picked as an individual competitor this year and not expected to even compete in vault final due to the 2 person limit, her silver win has big back story! This means the world to her. So happy for this girl! 💜🌍🎉

I think it's so beautiful to see how happy this team is no matter what they're faced with. Simone is going through an incredibly hard time rn, but she's not letting that stop her from cheering on and being over the moon happy for her teammates. These girls are a family. Even though numerous persons are mad that Simone stepped away, this allowed all her other teammates to showcase their talents and prove how great they are and it looked like she is very glad that they are doing fantastic. Everyone was so fixated on Simone that many of us forgot the other members even existed on the team. Yes, Simone is everyone's biggest hurdle for gold, but there are other great women on the team and I am happy that I got to see them shine.
