Thank you for this lovely surprise. I like the variety of Designers on your show. I made the same experience as Karolina that being creative helps through hard times. During a breast cancer therapy i used every minute in waiting rooms to draw designs in a sketch book or to knit. This helped healing so much.
Wonderful interview. Karolina has a novel and interesting eye for style. Hey, I’m 73 and I would definitely wear her sweaters. At the end: my gosh, Madeline is a natural at modelling. Beautiful.
That is fascinating- the whole interview. Thank you! Love her patterns. Your daughter is an excellent model, they're all gorgeous. All the best, Kimberly
Yes, Madeline modeling at end was just super. Love this and totally appreciated Karolyn and understand the intuition in knitting, even though I have not had so much time to use it. Your posts are outstanding!
I agree that many knitting patterns get bogged down in too much hand holding, but I do love a good schematic to be sure I'm understanding the end goal.
Now I like Aegyo even more! What a nice interview and great insights. Thanks for having her as a guest. I knit Umma cape so far and have the Eurus Slipover still on my needles. But there will be more. I watch Danish Musings here on youtube (highly recommend her) who test knits for Karolina and reviews her designs in a faboulus way. And the modelling in the end ....absolute fabulous!!!
Me also love very much Madeline modeling at the end!! So elegant and professionell. ❤ This was a very beautiful and lovely Episode. Thanks al lot! Wonderful Designs. Liebe Grüße, Dani 🧶
Thank you for this wonderful interview; and in general thank you Andrea, Madeleine and dearest Andrew for your podcast. If it wasn’t for you I would never find freedom to venture into this beautiful craft of knitting. I knew how to knit and purl for most of my life but didn’t know any other techniques. Reading patterns was like interpreting hieroglyphs. I found the topic you discussed about detailed instructions vs short recipes interesting. I believe recipes work only when you have inherited knowledge. Knitting is a science in a way I feel…. And the reason why we find it so fulfilling is not just because it tends to slow time but because we better ourselves through the process mentally and technically ❤
Beautiful designs and so lovely to hear about such a creative outcome from an anxious time ❤. I love her mannerisms too and how she includes her mother in the process (Im sure shes very proud of her daughter ). A very inspiring interview, thank you!
I live in the USA. I too, like Karolina, felt patterns were very overwhelming. No one in my family knitted so I was self taught. In my small town there was a yarn store. The owner would teach you how to knit the thing you bought yarn for. So I learned to make slippers. It wasn't until 60 years later (I'm 71) when I started watching TH-cam knitting tutorials that I began to understand how to read patterns and charts. I wish our USA culture was tuned into hand crafts so they were naturally handed down through the generations. If I had a grandmother like Arne had (of Arne and Carlos), I might have made a career out of wool, yarn, knitting, weaving, instead of picking it back up at age 57.
I had a similar experience. With several things in family happening I will never have chance to knit as I would like… but I get and still love it! Love learning from this channel. I am older!
Well I picked it up later in life. I remember trying when I was a lot younger, but I didn't have the patience. Now there's a resurgence of knitting amongst the young, which is wonderful.
Another really interesting interview, which you all do so very well. You research thoroughly and let the person talk. Others keep interrupting guest to make themselves look better, which is so annoying. Keep up the great work both of you. Ps your daughter is a great model !!!
Interesting interview and it feels like one of the hardest you have done. The connection took some work and you mange to draw out insights with care and tenderness. There are a few experienced Danish and other Scandinavian Podcasters who talk about the love for the design and the struggles they have in knitting the patterns at times - it feels like it lies in the creative approach to the construction. They work it out in the end. I have learnt knitting these beautiful patterns is conceptual and not TV knitting. Well done!! Madeline gave a beautiful showcase of the elegance of Karoline’s creativity.
Wonderful! And Madeleine ❤ she is gorgeous modeling those beautiful sweaters. I will be very interesting to see an interview with PetiteKnit, she changed the knitting community in so many ways! She upgraded this craft at so many levels. Thank you for yoyr work!
I love Karoline's design and aesthetics. Being a Korean myself, I love all the design names. Aegyo is something my mom always told me I should try to work on to bring out the "girly side". But I grew up as a tomboy and never could master that aegyo magic.
Thank you so much. Very interesting was the information about pattern writing. I use the German versions most time and I hate that working word after word. So I read it two times and then draw and calculate my own version. Now I can understand how it comes to that for me stupid way of transporting information. ❤
Wow! Loved this video. Again Fruity Knitting never ceases to amaze and be on trend! Karolina is so talented, love her Korean influences with a Danish design and aesthetic. Thanks Andrea and Madeline for modeling the garments. Saw so many patterns I want to try ❤
Wow, I imagined the designer of a aegyo knits to be much older as her designs are so sophisticated and sleek, timeless and gorgeous! I was so surprised to see how young this designer is! Karoline you are a beautiful designer! 👨🎨 I love your designs! I am going to try that first sweater ! I ❤ all your designs! And it makes sense Korea and Denmark ! I have jusrpt discovered how cool South Korea is through TH-cam travel vlogs. Keep creating!
Another great podcast. I have been looking at this designer for awhile. Plan on knitting a couple of her patterns. Madeline looks great in Karoline's pattern. Thanks again.
I find Karoline enchanting and utterly inventive. What a fresh vision, I am so happy to meet her and learn about her esthetic. Thank you, Andrea and Madeleine for your own enchantment and inventiveness. You are a blessing in finding such exciting avenues to share with us.
Such an interesting interview thank you so much! It was really interesting to hear her talk about the differences in patterns for the Scandinavian and English/American knitters. I’ve had the same experience as she has, abandoning a sweater pattern that should have been be perfectly doable but the pattern contain too much information and confused me. While I grew up in the United States, I was taught to knit at an early age by a Scandinavian grandmother and cousins. To this day, I prefer to purchase Scandinavian patterns and read the them in Norwegian. Thank you!❤
WOW! These are great designs, so timely and interesting. Madeleine not only wears them well, but her modeling is very smooth and shows the features of the designs so well. Thank you sincerely for taking time out of your summer to post this. Especially with your new island adventure, I'm sure, taking up so much time and energy.
Knitting culture is one and important factor, but I also think that Danes have better work - life balance in their country. Bluntly speaking they work less and have a bit more time to take up hobbies and be creative. Another ting is that they generally speaking value craft and craftspeople. I hope we all develop in this direction.
That was really enjoyable. I have an Aegyo Knit pattern in my queue and this makes me want to bump it to the top! Also, I would love to know the name of the park in which Madeleine treated us to the lovely fashion show. I'm in CPH quite a lot and would love to visit there.
Great interview! I wish that English patterns could be less detailed and more intuitive. I bet the preference for detail amongst English pattern knitters varies greatly by country too (I'm Canadian). I would appreciate less detail so that patterns weren't so overwhelming and I could just think more for myself and make more choices (I feel like that would be more relaxing and more empowering).
Lovely designs but I’m sorry to say I didn’t enjoy this episode with just a single focus .. I love your usual format and look forward to the next episode which I hope will have your usual eclectic mix of designers, and what you and Madeleine are working on.
Love the Madeline modeling at the end. She wears Karoline’s esthetic perfectly.
Just my words - that elegant girl-
I really enjoyed this video
We want more danish designers ❤❤

Madeleine was the absolute highlight! Nothing like intelligence behind a pretty face. And I see Andrew . . . Thank you!
Literally watching this while knitting the Hathor tee! Thank you so much for having her. I love her designs so much ❤

You find the nicest and most interesting design folks to interview. Love these designs. Thank you again ladies.
Thank you for this single interview. Very much like the Danish atmosphere in patterns and people. Thank you❤
Never heard of this designer until now (i've only been knitting less than a year). I really love her style
Thanks for the interview. Very beautiful designs.
Beautiful , modern and chic designs .
