I'm fairly new to knitting but an experienced crocheter and I've been finishing a lot of my knit pieces with a single crochet edge instead of learning to finish knits neatly. It has felt like cheating in a way, so I'm amazed to learn that it's a thing that folks used to and still do!

I use a crochet hook instead of the right-hand needle when binding off. 😅
I also use a crochet hook to pick up dropped stitches.

Pro tip if someone wants to try out what it is like having an adjustable standing desk try doing it with an ironing board first. It probably cant hold the weight of multiple knitting machines but its good with a laptop to try out what having a standing desk is like.

You mentioned decreases along the knitted work vs just decreasing on the edges being difficult and time consuming. This can be managed easily and with less time if you learn to use a garter bar. The garter bar can be used to move large sections of stitches or turn them on the bed. It is often used when knitting the coveted yoke fairisle sweaters or beautiful patterned garter stitch work. They are not very expensive used and well worth learning to use.

When you started to do the decrease calculations I wanted to call out to you to make sure you were doing it over the front AND the back pieces. I so hoped you had, but alas I was proven wrong. A very easy mistake to make in a process like this. Better to discover it at 152 rows instead of a finished piece. All part of what keeps knitting interesting for us. 🥰

Just a small accessibility point but the way the fast forwarded knitting machine footage goes from around 25:55 to I think 26:06? Creates a really rapid and high contrast flickering effect. I don't have photosensitive epilepsy so I'm not sure if it's going to be a trigger for seizures. But I am prone to photosensitive migraines and this was bad enough that I looked up from my phone to see if something was broken on my TV (and it's daylight here).

Very nice dress, I like the cream and pumpkin crochet edge finishing, it is adorable and was the most fitting colour combination out of all! ❤
Congratulations on this lovely new addition to your wardrobe.
You inspired me to go get my knitting needles. I have beautiful yarn, it’s autumnal shade of yellow with thin golden thread, I bought it 5 years ago. I intended to hand knit a cozy simple sweater for myself, but then I stressed out and put it aside. Maybe the time finally has come 😅 In my head I imagined slightly cropped sweater with fitting bodice and wide raglan sleeves, both cozy and elegant. I don’t know if it’ll work, but I think I’ll try. That yarn is just too good to be left on shelf.

Looks great! So pretty. I've heard that super wash yarn is wool encased in plastic so it can be washed like it is acrylic yarn. If so, I won't be using it. My body can't handle wearing acrylic anymore. And to reduce creation of micro plastic which mostly seems to come from washing acrylic cloth.
Your belt really makes the outfit.

I find machine knitting exhausting especially if I do stitch manipulation, because it's so quick, the level of concentration must be high otherwise it's easy to make a mistake and only notice it rows below, and then undo and reknit, hard slog, but the result is so pretty, and it's easy and fun to try out different garment shapes and styles quickly. Hand knitting is slow and enjoyable, I tend to reserve it for sock knitting and jumpers with elaborate stitch patterns.
