There was a lot of hate for Rich Rodriguez for the manner in which he left West Virginia ( to take the head coaching job at Michigan). I can't see the AD hiring him again which may bring backlash from the alumni, donors and the media who haven't forgotten.

WVU fan here, I’m right there with you on the “re-tred” idea. Texas A&M was awful, Rich Rod isn’t the coach he was before. Im in for Kotelnicki if they could persuade him. Bad thing is though, if he’s successful, he will be plucked.

WVU should have NEVER Hired Brown ever and should have NEVER went to the Big 12 and never hired Holgorsen
WVU should have stayed on the East Coast and a conference like the AAC
WVU does to much travelling and now with added teams, it makes that travel worse
BUT, since they are there, they MUST hire a coach with a HUGE Rep who can actually recruit Real players who will transfer to WVU because of that coach and their reputation .
This Time, IF WVU is going to have a sports program they spend the money to make it a REAL competitive one , otherwise they may as well just stop the sports program as a whole !!!

All of last years good will is GONE and he now has a losing record against the ACC and for all the talent FSU is used to landing that is just ludicrous. Agree that WVU needed to fire Brown if for no other reason than the fan base has lost any good will toward him. Sometimes its just better to move on so the fan base has HOPE if nothing else. I don't care who they hire as long as they can win and build a strong program. NIL is killing college sports. These guys were already getting paid by having a free education, books, room & board, food, healthcare, clothing, travel and other things. If these guys are to be paid to play then they should have to pay tuition, room & board, food, clothing, healthcare etc. but that being said it's hard to win with no money in a small market. So here's the question. Do we want a retread or a young guy that will use us as a stepping stone and moves on in 2-4 years? Tough call. What we definitely do not want is another Neal Brown. He made the mediocrity of the Don Nehlen years look like the good old days.

We need a West Virginia coach that has pride and a passion for the state. Jimbo is absolutely what we need. It's a West Virginia thing. We have always been on our own. If we get Coach Fisher... we can just be a bunch of football rejects. Lol. Atleast we'd have our team and probably surprise some people.

It is not like Neil Brown had great pride either there were some high talented West Virginia homegrown talent that was leaving the state even with him here
