I wonder how much the SEC and Big 10 would enjoy having only one team in the NCAA basketball tournament with the rest of their ranked schools in the NIT! The basketball power of the Big 12 can have leveraging influence on SEC and Big 10 if we want to go there. I am also sure the ACC would be happy to have more leveraging power in their negotiations also.
Here's another take: Even if the SEC is still the best conference, it's only because of how much the CFP committee has favored them. People want to go to the school that will give them the best chance of getting to the national championship, and thanks to the CFP committee, everyone knows that means going to an SEC school. If the CFP committee would try to err closer to the side of assuming all conference are equal rather than on the side of overestimating the size of the gap, recruiting would be more equal, and I think at least 90% of fans would like that.
The SEC and ESPN's job is not done until all 12 teams in the CFP are from the SEC. It is really that simple. The remaining 4 SEC teams will be ranked 13-16 at the end of the year. At least that is how everyone NOT in the SEC see it. Bama only scoring THREE POINTS against a 6-loss OU team that barely made a bowl game, but 3-loss Bama is still being considered to be in. Prove me wrong.
If sec loses the opponent becomes better, when they win the opponent is amazing. Big 12 byu loses to decent Kansas team by 4 who continued to beat the best teams in the 12, then barely lose to the big 12 champ asu then then those teams they lost too aren’t that good all of a sudden and their wins aren’t against great teams. They just switch the argument. It’s a no win argument. Based on awful logic
Hold on a second John. The Florida Gators are nowhere close to the same team as back in September. When the new QB is healthy they are a top tier SEC team. As for Ole Miss, this year's version would roll through the Big 12 for sure. I am sorry. I love the Big 12 but it is way down. BYU, Iowa Stae and ASU are the best and none would have went 6-6 in the SEC or better.
I thought your spiel was B12 and not the SEC, lol. Hey, John! Welcome to the SEC! Keep talking about how the SEC is the best conference in the land. You da man!
This entire CFP format is flawed & will be changed next season. How rewarding is it to be #1 Oregon and face the winner of Tennessee/Ohio State, if they win the Big 10, while potential runner up Penn State could play the 12th seed & then the G5 champs? Or be #2 Texas possibly playing a 3rd rematch with Georgia in their first game? Or if Clemson wins the ACC, an 11 win SMU team could fall out of the playoffs completely?
Having lived through a portion of the Big 8's history, that is not correct. People used to pee down their leg when Nebraska rolled into town. Coach Osbourne was the Nick Saban of his time. Barry Switzer at OU was held in similar esteem. Even Missouri had a period of time when they were feared and respected. Unfortunately all of those teams left so the Big 12 is going to have build up a reputation from the bottom it seems which is fine, but when stuff like this happens it makes the deck seem stacked and we won't get a fair shake. Ever.
Maybe I missed something but I thought the whole point of expanding the CFP was to get different teams in to prove themselves from other conferences. Not this BS load in as many Big 10 and SEC teams as you can who can’t even run their conferences much less NCAA as a whole. Give SEC and BIG 10 3 teams which is plenty then throw in the ACC, Big 12 champion, MW champion. Maybe even throw in an AAC then an extra at large Big 12 and ACC team and boom you’re at 12, SEC and BIG 10 get an extra team and smaller programs can prove themselves everybody is happy. If you’re Bama and you can’t even come close to winning your division why are you allowed to compete for a national title?? Can’t stand this
A 1-loss Boise State team doesn't deserve to get a 1st round bye over a 2-loss Big 12 Champion, in the same way that a 2 loss Big 12 team doesn't deserve to get in before a 3 loss SEC team. There are levels to this game. Maybe if Boise was undefeated or if the Big 12 Champion had 3+ losses.
Why not? In fact, Why does a 2 loss UNLV have to take a back seat to any Big 12 2 loss team? They were 2-0 against Big 12 teams, (bottom half admitted) Kansas and Huston. Those teams had some wins over top tier in conference. Boise has one loss, to #1 Oregon @ Oregon on walk off field goal. 37 -34. Don’t sink to same SEC arrogance you feel as Big 12. There should be no three loss teams in a 12 team playoff. (Exception of conf champ maybe). Plenty of worthy 2 loss teams that deserve shot. It’s more about $$$ than who deserves to play.

We’ll never to find out. The SEC overlord rules.
SEC got what they wanted tonight and proved the false prophets of parity wrong.

"Oregon should be ranked #7, and the top 6 SEC teams tied for 1st." (SEC vibe as received by the rest of the country.)
$EC and E$PN just cant stop tipping scales at maximum to show this isnt fair. such a clown show.

Good stuff. Thank you much.

The CFP is a joke. I want to organize boycotts
Ya know the big 12 has not had any respect even back when it was the Big 8 and Nebraska and Oklahoma were winning national championships.
No.....they did.

Boycott any Bama playoff game
Can't say that I will, although I think South Carolina is more deserving of that spot, regardless of their head to head results.

You definitely missed a lot.
More crying 😂
