- Follow us on our latest adventure ,this time in search of the elusive unicorn(COD) .Aboard Toadfish 2 fishing in the coloured ,fast flowing waters of the bristiol channel .
Fishing on our favourite marks off sully bay and barry .

Yes was a nice day out there .we don't get many. The decline of the cod stocks over the last 15 years has been a terrible shame .sadly they are no longer viable to target realy .roll on summer ☀️. Thanks for your comment 👍
Only seems like yesterday when there were loads of charter boats operating out of Swansea in the winter on the Cod and 20lb plus fish were caught regularly in the 80’s and 90’s, with some tipping the scales in the 30’s. Sadly due to it though, the black lug beds here on Cefn Sidan were all but pumped dry by commercial bait boys and whether it’s due to that or the environment, they still haven’t recovered.
Warmer waters have driven the big Cod north now and in return we’re getting more warmer water fish like Giltheads etc. and the BFT are back in numbers.
Yes I remember those halcyon days off swansea with big cod featuring in the magazines caught on the charter boats .terrible shame its all gone .most of the table fish cod/plaice /turbot were absolutely hammerd .seems to be a steady run of smooth hounds and rays around in the bristol channel .thanks for your valid comment it's Brought back some good memories as a youngster fishing on the swansea boats .some good characters back then .gower ranger /Roger and Ernie. Helium was another .lady Gail. Good times

Where did you find the weather lol. Great to see you get out there and some nice fish too. Those rays are carrying knives now lol. Lovely cod too well worth the trips 👍
Thanks mate 👍. Opportunity for a few days at sea this winter have been few and far between. Will this wind and rain ⛈️ ever stop .let's hope for a better summer ☀️.
