Hiya lads, great to see father and son out, same as me and my dad we just have our own boats but I’m pleasure and he is commercial, so gents quick question-I have a 7.5kg Bruce and when I’m using Alderney method even with 4 tie wraps it always breaks the wraps, I seen yours come up not broken, any ideas or just use thicker and more tie wraps 😅

hi mate, are they old zip ties maybe? also maybe tie 1 or 2 around twice? are you anchoring on rough ground?

@@Alwaysfishingtv thanks for taking the time to reply, it’s a 7.5kg Bruce, 4m of chain and 14mm polysteel rope 100ft, fishing in average 20ft of water, tie wraps are about 5mm width 3 of them, anchoring in sand, maybe the anchor is heavy so when pulling it out it’s just ripping the tie wraps right off, in any case will the Alderney way still work lifting from the front of anchor after tie wraps have broke or does it slide down again at surface?

yea maybe it could be too heavy? what size boat have you got? yea it’ll still lift it up if tie wraps have broke, just need to re tie new ones as you know
