Its cool to see Louie Simmons writings and ideas being validated by a totally different gym with a different athletic focus. I assume Dane came to his own conclusions through track/field and WLing coaching but it doesn't appear far off the mark from Louie's hypothesis/practices at WSB
This is a great video, Dane. Thanks so much for the strength tips. I had actually began checking out the channel some time back and the videos on becoming a better athlete are really great.
Im currently rehabbing an ACL surgery could you make a video of the best ways to recover from a knee injury? Specifically in relation to jumping and running and avoiding tendonitis getting back in to explosive movements
The point about a dead nervous system is really spot on for me. My max back squat is 375, but my clean 1RM is 245. I've also always had issues recruiting maximum speed and power when I did parkour
Great video, information is similar to the soviet training model and by extension Westside. The exercises and percents are really helpful. I am going be helping my son train for football and we have started using some of these exercises. Will likely do blocks , first developing absolute strength and doing speed\technical work as part of the warm up and switch it around after 10-12 weeks, go to maintaining absolute strength and focus on speed\power. Does this sound logical ?
@@jmgonzales7701 its a result of alot of research and testing...essentially modulating volume and load in a non linear manner and including special strength exercises. Its really alot more involved than can be described in this format but there are resources on line that offer details.
Hello dear, I have such a question, there is a good girl, her personal best at 11 years old is 100 meters 14.5, 200 meters 30.4, and 60 meters 8.7. what are the best exercises for her to apply so that there would be good progress for the next summer season? Thank you in advance
Is a 5RM that’s closer or further from a 1RM indicative of a “dead NS”? I didn’t fully understand you in the video. For example, 170kg 1RM squat/155kg 5RM squat versus 170kg 1RM squat/140kg 5RM squat. Thanks!
Think l seen video of you doing dead stop rows couple of years ago, 365, 385, and 405 for 5 reps, touching your stomach every time. Are you still doing these? How about update?
Hey, as an athlete I’ve incorporated cleans into my workout trying to focus on speed, but rather I feel it a lot in traps. Is this normal as I don’t workout traps often or is their something I can do to avoid this.
So do I, my traps get really sore after cleans, and I've developed huge traps over the years. As a combat athlete fighting in Muay Thai kickboxing, the powerful and developed traps help a lot for clinch and neck wrestling, and getting power in my upper / posterior chain. I don't think there's anything wrong with this at all, and having big traps is probably a good thing for any sport. Just my gut
Yes it is. My gym trainer explained to us that the cleans are composites of a High Pull, which if you have tried them before, you feel it in your upper back, because it is a 'standing' row. Makes sense because if you do not have the proper strength when 'High Pulling' the bar, it would be difficult to lock the bar properly with your arms into your upper chest.

150kg for a single leg squat is insane

Love the potentiation concept. Nothing like running some steep hill sprints and ending that with a flat ground sprint or two
Love the videos. They have helped my son a ton
Thank you sir 🙏🤝

Hey Dave, love all your content. Could you please make a video on exercise that help in improving muscle coordination?
The video was magical.😁
Hey can you do a video on exercises for judo. You have videos on bjj and wrestling but not judo. Or would the training be the same?

Are speed-strength exercises more for compound exercises versus isolation exercises?
How do you get that bar up in a kneeling position?

New weight room training plans for swimmers please?
Coach , on your lower body strength days you could include a power clean or snatch as the t echnical component yeah?
What do you mean by 'dead nervous system'?
the 2m/s is MV or PV?
Peak velocity
@@GarageStrength thanks
Sprint workout
What’s the difference between power snatch and muscle snatch
Muscle snatch has no pull and squat (or half/quarter squat) under the bar. Only a pull and push with arms after triple extension
Like the maple leaf. What's the story?!
Hulking at 2:27 fkkkkk!
100m workout please
Brasil
you definitely do NOT need a velocity tracker convenient though
If we look at the speed, are we looking at peak speed or average speed?
Peak
You just defined power.
Before I watch the vid, discussions about “rest times” really the most dull of all in the fitness community.. if that is still a thing
There are general guidelines to follow depending on goals so it makes since they don’t really say much
if im doing trap bar deadlift at 1RM at 120kg how can i use this for speed strength?
90k
@@GarageStrength how many reps and sets
This guy got a big garage.
I can squat 100kg (I’m 50kg) but I can hardly snatch 30kg cuz my upper body is so weak 😭
My problem is I can snatch the weight up but I can’t hold it up cuz my arms are tiny
I lift in India stones now 150 kg lifting
How to improve 200 kg stone lift exercise and which food eat better
im not slamming weight against my chest to move it faster. ill just lower the weight to push it catch and push faster.
