If it's someone from atc that are probably overworked and understaffed because that's such a common reason for when the atc fucks up. The job is so hard because you have to work with 60-70 plane depatures per hour that's according to what someone said on a form and the shift is about 9 or 10 hours. This makes sense because there's more than 45,000 flights per day it really varies.

Tower cleared a c17 over my da40 at 1000 on a crossing runway overhead approach while I would have been landing underneath. No violation but the controller took the next day off realizing I’d be dead from the wake if I didn’t break off. C17 was going over 250 knots due to the tailwind. Wind was blowing the wake right at me from around 3 o clock. And I passed 500 hours during that flight. Left the ‘killing zone’ after I landed. Airline pilots (AA or delta mocked me). Tower supervisor completely agreed with me, it was scarier watching the replay.
Syracuse only has 4 flights in the morning and 4 in the afternoon. So of course, they schedule them at the same time. I stopped flying in 2013. I saw too much. People told me I was being crazy Now, they say " How did you know " So many failures are never reported. You don't hear about 99.9% of the problems. I did hear about them. I saw them. I don't fly.

They are very visibly separated laterally and not vertically because a) they are not on the same flight path to require vertical or horizontal separation, b) they don't CRASH INTO EACH OTHER as they pass the same altitude and c) THEY PASS THE SAME ALTITUDE which meas they are not separated vertically because THEY ARE AT THE SAME ALTITUDE. No, because you have lateral separation. If someone where to take a video directly from the side of the highway, it might appear as if you could hit each other when one car passes the other, when in reality there was no danger. It's fairly obvious from the video that one plane is further away than the other if you are paying attention. Also the audio provided doesn't make sense combined with the situation in the video. Betting they picked up any "confused" sounding aircraft radio transmissions they could find from that day (if they were even honest enough to get audio from that airfield ir that day) to pair with the "scary" video. In reality, even if there had been no lateral separation between the two planes, they both appear to be far enough out that the TCAS system would have issued first a traffic advisory and then if needed a resolution advisory based on their projected paths well before the two aircraft were actually near each other. Not a big deal. Someone is going to be doing a lot of paperwork but otherwise not a problem. And that's in some imaginary worst case scenario that was clearly NOT the case in this instance. This video is just blatant scare mongering clickbait.
