Nah Support definitely feels really team based. You can tractor beam enemies for your teammates to kill, you can heal teammates but not heal yourself, it's definitely tailored towards squad gameplay!
I've been having a tough time with this game. Half the time I'm trying to figure out where the action is. And the other half is trying to stay on target. I think it's gonna take me a good while to get used to it
I am really struggling with this game as well. It was like I was doing ok until I got to the 2nd rebels mission and have had to drop multiple difficulty settings and I am still getting smoked. Basically no matter how I am manuevering my fighter I am getting smoked. I can not evade the enemies no matter what. Forget about shooting them down. I played Battlefront 2 on hardest and didnt have nearly the difficulty. I think I am missing something big. Like I have tried adjusting the settings to adjust the aim but it all seems pretty worthless. Ive never want to like a game so bad yet have such a miserable play expierence. Does anybody know what I could be doing wrong in particular?
For pc players: Turn on advanced setting for power controls and set the increments at 20%, it lets you pres 1-3 to put even more or less power into eng/weap/shields in a more fine tune way to get the abosloute max settings- for example max shields 70% engines and 0% weapons when running away
If only keyboard and mouse worked for me. Its so wobbly with the mouse. I wish it would work well because there's clearly not enough buttons on the controller. I hate holding and double pressing buttons.
Since play test want a beginner tip? When you start max out your shields full power, charge up boost and launch yourself into battle and load weapons to go in quick and fully equipped. And equip auto aim burst fire guns on everything’s it’s hella op
VelvetMidnight can you elaborate more on some of these? When can you unlock these auto aim blasters? And the max out shields, do you mean divert power to shields right when you start? You can’t boost if you don’t have power diverted to engines, I thought.
StarWarsFreak1138 I have the game now but I played a lot during play test. When I played fleet battles I would charge up shields I think they stay charged if you diverted power to them. After shields I would charge boost enough to get me right into the action fully shielded or just before then I’ll divert power to weapons so I get there quick and ready to fire. Then idk how unlocks work in the full game but there’s 2 burst fire auto aim gun variants. There’s like a 3 burst manual aim that does more damage. And a 3 burst auto aim gun that does slightly less damage. The auto aim ones are very op because it’s auto aim... Or should I say self guided lasers. You just shoot inside a circle reticle and anything within the circle will be hit it’s very easy to take down enemy fighters with burst, only time I used other guns was when I wanted to attack objective ships that are easy to hit.
StarWarsFreak1138 full power to engines to CHARGE boost. You can then move power about freely and you boost will DECAY over time. So you might have idk 15 secs after where you have a bit of boost to use. Same thing for 100% lasers overcharge
For easy throttle sweet spot I set the throttle on controller to "steps" and the increment to 50%. Gives 3 stages of throttle: Full stop, sweet spot, and max speed. Don't know if it's the best setting because it removes fine control, but it's made my life easier so far.
I set my throttle to incremental 50% So I push an accelerate button twice for full speed, and then one press of accel or decel sets me to 50% - 100% Lot less fiddling with throttle, and it takes the throttle off the stick to allow for more precise roll control (for me) .
Game is fantastic in PSVR and With Thrustmaster Hotas. One tip, be sure to remap Yaw and Roll on flight stick under controller options for a more natural feel 👍
beat the campaign then do online. The story is right after the destruction of Alderaan and the game is best as primarily a single player game. so beat campaign then you'll be ready for multiplayer. it's a fun game this way.
Pro tip with the tie fighter weapons and engine diverting the ties can effectively fire forever switch power to weapons and then boost your weapons and keep doing so
As of what I can see it the charge bar for you lasers in the tie fighters seems a bit of a dark maroon. Is there anyway lighten this? Or when you are playing is it easy to see?
Kobe Ryan oh ok that’s good to hear it’s just that the color was a bit of a dark red or a maroon. I think you were thinking of something else maybe. I’m talking about the bar above the dash that shows what charge your lasers are at
Star Wars squadron maybe a good and fun game but I honestly love it playing when it’s just a game you’ll get it better once your becoming a ace pilot and get better at other games as well so love being a beginner and thanks for the tips as well stay safe
Is joystick control easier than console controller ? I don’t play FPSs enough to get good at dual thumb sticks on console. Will likely get on pc anyhow
I think that is suggested in the tutorial, I've tried it with the engine modification that increases acceleration and breaking speed, and it works, the chasing fighters overshoot me, but my back shield / hull gets smashed pretty hard, so I guess it depends on the situation
Not gonna lie, most of these tips are way too advanced for me hahah, some solid tips though! Definitely gonna spam the crap out of the practise mode when I've finished the story. I'd first need to learn to even control my ship, let alone boosting and whatnot. If there's an achievement for crashing X amount of times within an hour in the prologue, I definitely got that :BabyFlex: Edit: Love seeing the changed channel member logos here!
I'm just using the trial to see if the game is worth getting but I played the first mission of the campaign then 2 multiplayer games and I've noticed that alot of people just dont do anything but just run away
Has anyone else had trouble where they complete challenges but it doesn’t say that you completed them? I did like quintuple digits of damage to an enemy capital ship with a bomber which was my mission but none of the progress was accounted for. (Yes, I was in the right mode)
I preordered the game and now its past the release date I still can't play it?! I try launching the game and its kicks me back to the dashboard... I try looking for anything in the updates section of my xbox and nothings there... I even try looking for the game in the xbox store and says that I own the game and I can launch it... anyone else having issues?!
My issue is maneuverability. I have the sensitivity maxed, but it’s not helping at all, and it still feels super clunky to fly. Granted I did get the game today, and have only done a few of the missions, but it hasn’t gotten better really. Anyone have a suggestion other than get a joystick that I can’t afford?
the moment they release a ranked mode for dogfighting i'm gonna play this game every available minute, for now , fleet mode is just much less fun so im not that invested
What you're describing sounds like mouse acceleration, or mouse smoothing. I dont have squadrons but I would look into the game settings or potentially your windows settings if you havent already removed the windows side of mouse smoothing.
Man, i have never gotten nausea from anything ever, ships, boats, planes, rollercoasters.. but even a minute of this gameplay made me dizzy and sick. I dont think this game is for me
I hope support is like an actual team helper not like the greedy battlefront 2 officer
Miles Sklar teammate on low health I need healing u wing ha ha spaceship go brrrr

I went into practice mode, then go to setting and turn on enemy ai. Can practice with no pressure.
Flight controls take a little bit to learn stick with it.

I can't wait to play some multiplayer but I've probably gonna stick to the campaign for now at least.
I also recommend changing your sensitivity in settings to what your comfortable with I have all me settings at 35,35,35,35

Summary:
1. Play the story
2. Play more story mode
3. Play more story mode
4. Play a ton of dogfights.
5. Your ready to do Fleet Battles

How about EA getting HOTAS actually working properly?
Boost drift kinda hard but spamming it makes me lose ppl behind me sometimes so you fixed an issue I had thank you!
This isn't a learning curve it's a learning vertical. Even Dark souls is easier to pick up
beat the campaign then do online. The story is right after the destruction of Alderaan and the game is best as primarily a single player game. so beat campaign then you'll be ready for multiplayer. it's a fun game this way.
I just played Squadrons before watching this, and these tips seem like they'll help
Shoot first, if they’re still moving? Then shoot second.
It's not a Star Wars quote but still stands.
Your flying in the boost drift demonstration was beautiful, and great tips. This video definitely deserves a like
Much appreciated man, glad you liked it!
Pro tip with the tie fighter weapons and engine diverting the ties can effectively fire forever switch power to weapons and then boost your weapons and keep doing so
Some good tips, A-Wing is my favourite ship (even before squadrons came out) but looks like I'll have to get used to the rest first

Sammi...your my boi !!
My PSVR preorder is loading up, but in the mean time, the First thing I did is look up your channel !!
I won't be getting this game till next week and with videos like this I can already be better than people with it right now 😂
perhaps while in a chase stopping suddenly might be a useful manuever. What do you think ?

Power management system looks like a pretty important thing to get good at.
This is super helpful! Still gotta get the hang of the boost drift though 😅
Is this PC version or nah because R3 don’t exist on the keyboard 🙏🏼😅

Make sure you’re at half speed when you turn to tighten them also learn how to boost drift it really helps tighten turns
Another tip for you guys! Play the tutorials! Simple tip but it works
The game came out October 2 this came out October first so for (just guessing) 90% of people never played this before.
Great video thanks

They don't overheat if they overheated diverting more power to them wouldn't make them work again it would just melt them
thanks..helpful video
What is peoples sensitivity, I can seem to aim properly there is a weird floaty feeling making it hard to be accurate, I dont know how to describe it
