The game's pretty solid, but for all of the improvements and content that DICE added over time, there were just as many cases of jank and bugs as they worked through that process. There was over a month during summer of 2018 (WELL after launch) during which Palpatine became so broken that they had to remove him from the game. The couple of years of updates consistently introduced new unexpected issues like that, and the game remains in a relatively buggy state since they stopped supporting it. I still remember playing the beta for the first SW:BF and was in love with the sniper rifle (forgot what it’s called.) But when the game came out they completely changed the mechanics of that rifle and it was never used again. Personally I stuck mostly to the dogfight game mode but had to stop because of how unbalanced the A-wings were to the tie fighters and because of the lag
Only problem with Galactic Conquest as a concept in a multiplayer game is that it would just take wayyy too long. If anyone’s played EAW, they also had a conquest type mode that was super fun! Only problem was it took hours to complete and your opponent would either quit due to time or once they saw that they were going to lose they would just quit. It sounds great and I would love it if they brought it back but I don’t see a world where the average FPS player nowadays is gonna sit and go through multiple modes and maps for however long it takes to eventually win or even worse, lose.
Playing it heavy in the last few days. The multiplayer is still active in Capital Supremacy and tons of fun. On pc you can also mod the game if you want a change of pace from multiplayer. Or even without mods its fun to play against bots
my Wishlist for a SWBF3 is. - more customization than swbf2 such as armor, battles scars, colors, pauldrons, backpacks etc. they should also expand blast customization with more mods -improved balance for reinforcements/heroes especially for the rebels and resistance and I would like to see more reinforcement archetypes along with more star cards for them -improved terrain and a vaulting mechanic because its very easy to get stuck on things in SWBF2 -a combination of capital supremacy and frontlines from battlefield there's probably more that I'm not thinking of rn but this is what first comes to mind for me.
It’s absolutely wild how this game went from like the biggest disaster in gaming history to possibly one of the best Star Wars games ever made imo. Really the only thing it’s missing at this point is galactic conquest. The story could’ve been better and getting a few more heroes like maybe Mace Windu or Ahsoka since she’s got her own show now would’ve been nice too. But really beyond those 3 things I can’t say I have a complaint about it which is pretty damn impressive. Anyone who hasn’t played it, it is currently on the Xbox game pass and goes on sale very cheap pretty often on PS. Definitely worth giving it a shot.
I played this game when it came out in 2017 and I still play it now on my laptop and my cellphone. I'm like you, when I seen the motions for the campaign, I thought we were gonna get a new point of view. But they did what Star Wars always does, which I don't dislike, but it would've been great to seen it end in a more, unexpected way. But I enjoyed the campaign, overall. Multiplayer for this game is a literal joy. Like I be jumping on Supremacy and be thoroughly enjoying myself. My wish for Star Wars games... I want them to give us a full Skywalker saga game on this engine. Similar to what they did with LEGO Star Wars. Because the acting and the gameplay was top notch. But I can only wish.
I left when they announced they would end updates, the microtransactions left a nasty wound that was starting to heal with every update and then EA just decided it wasn't worth it. 😢
As long as you got this game like 2 years after launch, you should remember it fondly. Funny to think that a game releases with loot boxes, only to get them removed. Too bad all the other loot box-based games didn't get this treatment.
battlefront 2 had quite the hype last year due to tik tok. many new players came in & old ones returned. Played so many hours with 2 of my friends & it really felt like the game relaunched
Up-voted before the video even started, just for bringing attention to the current most underrated Star Wars game ever! Say what ya'll will about the game, but it has the most epic large scale battles and lightsaber combat out there (Not as fluid and deep as Jedi Academy, but more cinematic and intense). It also gave us another snippet of Legends Luke in the main story mode👌🏽
The worst thing about Battlefront 2 right now (besides support being done) is that this is how it should've launched. Like, how were Anakin and Obi-Wan 2 of the last heroes to be added? The current roster of heroes they got is basically just the necessary ones. Characters like Ahsoka, Ventress, Mando, Moff Gideon etc, should've been the post-launch additions.
Used to be really Good at the Game a couple years back on PC, but decided to hop in a match a couple Day's ago n got annihilated 😅 Decided to just install the Instant Action Overhaul Mod and had so much fun having a laid back experience.
I remember when the battlefront 1 beta came out on pc and i felt like a god lmao. Easily would go like 30-3. Now whenever i try to hop on 2 randomly i get wrecked 😂
I'll be honest I've never liked galactic conquest on the older ones I've always just liked going in with friends playing co-op in hero mode and instant action
BF & I hv made some pretty hot memories, I was quite the player. I too loved the sensations it accomplished, made the action immersive unlike any other shooter. Then again, its not just a shooter, is it? 🤭
If you guys want a Star Wars game/platform to duel and get some dope 1v1s in, start playing hero showdown! I promise it’s more fun than it initially seems and the controls are actually awesome
I play this very often still. I can confirm on console playing multilayer its almsot always the same names on all the maps. I know whos going to dominate the server I know how every map will play out. Rarely am I surprised. But its still fun for me.
BF V and SWBF2 both deserved more years of content. how could DICE do this to all of us... Edit: one of the devs also said recently that they had ideas and concepts for a SWBF3 but EA didn't want it..
All any battlefront player wants is space battles on foot and in vehicle in space variety of imperial ships fighting actual canons proper list of heroes trench run and a custom offline battle settings simple stuff
This game and Lego Star Wars gave my brother and I more genuine bonding moments over when our fucking dad died. Which obviously was huge lmao but I think we spent probably hundreds or hours

I’m amazed at how much better the game got in the following years
Only problem with Galactic Conquest as a concept in a multiplayer game is that it would just take wayyy too long.
- more customization than swbf2 such as armor, battles scars, colors, pauldrons, backpacks etc. they should also expand blast customization with more mods
-improved balance for reinforcements/heroes especially for the rebels and resistance and I would like to see more reinforcement archetypes along with more star cards for them
-improved terrain and a vaulting mechanic because its very easy to get stuck on things in SWBF2
-a combination of capital supremacy and frontlines from battlefield
there's probably more that I'm not thinking of rn but this is what first comes to mind for me.
Oh wait I have this game too 😮
It’s absolutely wild how this game went from like the biggest disaster in gaming history to possibly one of the best Star Wars games ever made imo.
Played this on my base PS4, back then. But now I have a PS5 this s*** is crazy and the amount of players That's on it is mind blowing!!!
This game looks so damn good I played it and I will play it again
Iden Versio is honestly one of my favorite new star wars characters.
Still love and play this great game. Its cancellation was such a shame 😔
I bought this the day it dropped and still occasionally play it til this day ! Who remember the OP palpatine doing electric shocks through walls lol ?
Its crazy how good this game looks, with all the players on the server at the same time and could run on last gen. Then theres jedi survivor….
battlefront 2 had quite the hype last year due to tik tok. many new players came in & old ones returned.
Will never get tired of this game
The worst thing about Battlefront 2 right now (besides support being done) is that this is how it should've launched.
Like, how were Anakin and Obi-Wan 2 of the last heroes to be added? The current roster of heroes they got is basically just the necessary ones. Characters like Ahsoka, Ventress, Mando, Moff Gideon etc, should've been the post-launch additions.
Just Started playing the game again yesterday and it’s a blast
It still looks really good. It could come out today and it would be considered one of the more beautiful games.
I've always meant to go back to this game and at least finish the campaign
Used to be really Good at the Game a couple years back on PC, but decided to hop in a match a couple Day's ago n got annihilated 😅
Decided to just install the Instant Action Overhaul Mod and had so much fun having a laid back experience.
I will say may 4th is the most chaotic and most fun because heroes are 400 credits and everyone just running around the map
I've been playing this game nonstop for the last month
This game was a disaster from the start, but improved as time went on
BF & I hv made some pretty hot memories, I was quite the player. I too loved the sensations it accomplished, made the action immersive unlike any other shooter. Then again, its not just a shooter, is it? 🤭
Thanks, convinced me not to bother with it. If I want to play a game where I'll get smoked constantly, I'll play Planetside 2
If you guys want a Star Wars game/platform to duel and get some dope 1v1s in, start playing hero showdown! I promise it’s more fun than it initially seems and the controls are actually awesome
its ashame theres only like 700 concurrent players on steam because this is one of the best star wars multiplayers games
I feel bad for anyone who didn’t get a chance to play the original on Xbox or pc it was incredibly ambitious
It can still be played on both
I play this very often still. I can confirm on console playing multilayer its almsot always the same names on all the maps. I know whos going to dominate the server I know how every map will play out. Rarely am I surprised. But its still fun for me.
I want this game again because it is so much fun.
I remember triple XP for like 3 weeks..I MAXED OUT assault, heavy, officer, Tank, Vader, Bossk
Downloading now.
This game and Lego Star Wars gave my brother and I more genuine bonding moments over when our fucking dad died. Which obviously was huge lmao but I think we spent probably hundreds or hours
