  • Without a wiring diagram there is no proper way to check this system and the internet sure don't help and neither does TH-cam at this time. But I checked almost everything I can think of to see whats bugging this car and I'm stumped..waiting on a wiring diagram to trace the wires and operation..but I believe its either a cut wire or the computer..if I find the fix there will be a Part 2 . Enjoy... S8E406

    2 recommendations disconnecting the battery for 2-3 minutes and reseting the computer by turning the ignition switch on and off three times and on the 4th start the car. The resetting of the computer has saved me thousands of dollars on this car. Especially when the cluster turns into a Christmas tree.

    The newer Honda systems have got a bit more complex and complicated for most people. The PCM on this vehicle sends a High and Or Low Fan request to the Relay Circuit Board which the Relay circuit board then operates the fans accordingly.. The relay Circuit board is the large Black Box that slides down into the under hood fuse box.. The Box actually controls many other system components, not just the fans.. It sounds like either a faulty Relay Circuit board unit or a possible wiring issue to the fan that is inoperative..

    • @alyoungcuda
      @alyoungcuda  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for that info, I had no way of getting a wiring diagram for this but I did tell the owner its possible the bcm or ecm controls the fan operation and I'm glad you verified this..next time its in I will look for that circuit board and see if its burnt or not

    • @arman757
      @arman757 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good money it needs the relay and it wouldn't hurt to replace at least the RH fan since it's likely drawing excessive current which is causing the relay contacts to burn. I've got a 14 in the shop right now with the same symptom, only the LH fan operates. I have no power or ground at the RH cooling fan connector. Looking at the wiring diagram, its not likely a ground issue on my 14 since a lot of other loads that still work ground through G301. Also, if G301 was in bad shape, the LH fan wouldn't work but it does. I have no power or ground at my RH fan connector and again referring to the wiring diagram, that fan gets power and ground through the cooling fan relay assembly which is actually 3 relays in one. I haven't gone any further with checks as that looks like it would require disassembling the underhood fuseblock to do more checks directly at the relays(if even possible on this thing, idk, I'm a nissan man and that's how we do things). More than likely I'll end up swapping the relay to see what happens since in the real world that's likely going to be much less labor intensive and cheaper than disassembling the fuseblock to do the proper circuit checks.

      Most likely its the computer, its job is to relay the message to turn on the fan

  • @noneya2112

    First question, did you fix this issue with the fan? I have an issue that is close, neither of the fans ran. I found a wiring print (not complete but it did help) It directed me to look at the ECM plugs and pins. I unhooked the 3 plugs, and the very next time I started the AC compressor came on, and so did the cooling fan. Since I am a mechanic, I had to duplicate the outcome again. Turned off the ignition and started the car again, neither fan worked. This led me down a rabbit hole. I found that if I unplugged the top plug on the ECM prior to starting my car, the AC would work and the cooling fan too. So, I planned to have Honda replace the ECM at a significant cost. here is the rabbit hole, the problem still exists. I have replaced every component, and serviced the R134 several times. Glad I have my own cart for that because that can get expensive. If you did fix this, can you share your repair. Thank you in advance. RW.

    Without ac radiator fans never runs but as soon as i turn ac on both fans start running and its frequently turn on and off like 5 sec on off. I feel vibration which is annoying to me. Is it normal or should i get it checked?

    • @Tuulaaamotivate

      Same

    • @alyoungcuda
      @alyoungcuda  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Its not normal that your 1 cooling fan is not working on its own, that is the engine cooling fan, but it is normal for both fans to be on with the AC On. But the vibration is the concern with usually means that the fan blade itself is broken or bent just like any spinning fan, it will vibrate. But definitely have it checked out, as you can see in the comments, it seems to be a common problem, but no one has come back on to post a fix and this car is no longer around.
