Hello there! I have a few questions: 1) How ist the feeling of the keys? Compared to the old model and Go:Piano? 2) How are the piano sounds? Are they the same as in the old model? I’d appreciate your kindness for taking the time to answer. Thanks!
The key feel is much better imo- the tones respond much better to dynamic playing, as opposed to the original GO:KEYS which I find more difficult to interact with.
That's interesting, I saw a video that says that they have the exact same keybed. I can't find the video, but I saw it about 3 or 4 days ago, I'm sure of it.
I saw a few review videos about this keyboars, including expert jazz pianists, for ex. Masataka Kono, he said in one od his Go:Keys 3 videos that he finds the keys stiff, and sometimes loud notes pop out, so we have to play it veey carefullt to avoid unwanted accentes lous notes because od the stiffness od the keybed. Personally I can trust his opinion on the keybed confidently, becauase he plays delicate stuff on high level on other keyboards and digital pianos and real pianos, and if HE (the expert) has problem playing without random accented notes popping out randomly, then intermediate and beginner piano players will have even bigger issue with the keybed than the experrs have. (PS. Thank you for your reply BTW, I appreciate it! I am still researching online this Go:Keys 3 and 5 until I find a music shop in my area that has one and hopefullt they allow to try it for trting out the keybed, but unfortunatelly they don't have it in syock at the moment, so I'm just continuing searching newee videos about it, and hopefully there will be some other high level pop or jazz pianists who gonna review thias keyboard, and specifically its keybed.)
At this price., it maybe hard to compete with Yamaha PSR E473 or EW425. I hope the Roland Cloud platform will refresh this keyboard regularly which maybe its biggest features.
Masataka Kono has both keyboards, and in his Go Keys 3 review he mentiones that he find the Go Keys 3 keys stiff, and he likes the CT-S1's keys better.
@@Elazarko Pianotone did comparison between Roland GO:PIANO 61 (which is supposedly the same key action as in v.3 and v.5) vs Casio CT-S1 vs Korg Liano (being most preferred). I highly recommend reading or listening.
So, can this download new models and patches from Roland Cloud then? (I mean this in the sense of, design sound using zen core engines and then transmit them to the hardware.) If so, that’s actually rather an appealing product.
Hi, can you layer sounds on it and how many :-) and also in the video I could see chords onthe screen. Does it define the chords you play ? And does it have left right stereo line out for amps :-) Thamks for asking.
CT-S1's sounds are easily comparable to Go keys 3 sounds, they are both decent/high quality. What is not high quality in CT-S1 sounds in your opinion? For example?
@@kaisfp I have a CT-S500. The effects suck, the reverb and delay are poor, the resonant sounds are poor, synth sounds are poor. Bass sounds are poor and very quiet. Piano sound and keybed are great, that is why I use my CT-S500 as a practicing keyboard. The AiX sound engine sounds clean, but still flat in comparisoun with any Roland. Most of CASIO sounds only change loudness when react to key velocity and usually have only one velocity layer of sample. Roland's approach to sound design is far superior, lots of multisample sounds, better filter behaviour, more low-end, better resonant sounds, up to four layers of sound within a single patch. The CT-S500 sounds like a GM module from the early 90s. Good, but Roland sound is much better, especially synth sounds.
I met him in 1985, at Minges Coliseum in Greenville N.C. The Home of East Carolina University, and my fellow classmate, and wonderful actress, Sandra Bullock. Maceo Parker, is from Kingston, N.C., and to my knowledge still lives there. Only 20 mins away. OH! Don’t forget the “GOOD GAWD! HIT ME!🤣😎🤣
Does anyone have issues with some keys being unresponsive? First I thought I needed to adjust to the keybed (coming from a yamaha, never used a roland before) but I notice that I need to press the same key twice to get a sound out or to be able to modulate the velocity. Anyone else experienced something similar? I don’t want to go the route of return and reorder. I read in some fora that some of these issues are bugs and can be fixed by updating the go keys…
I was considering this as a songwriter - just something simple to use to flesh out ideas..maybe that is what he means? Also like the portability - I want a keyboard with external speakers that I can take to an in home rehearsal and show someone their vocal harmony part, for example.
Roland is destroying the competition with keyboards. They're always updating firmware and their cloud service is really good, a little pricey but worth it with all the features.
That EP was just okay, no real depth or vibe. I’ve used Zencore and never liked it. The Roland Legendary Series and Aira sounds legit. This is a hard pass for me but I imagine some people will find it useful.
Omg that sounds so bad why ???? Roland you use to every persons favorite now everything is just crap I see the sh4d on reverb for 350 now and that’s not even 6 months old knowbody likes the cloud bs and even the expensive stuff sounds like shizzz people are noticing and not saying anything just walking away

Do you like it?

Wow! Great update!!!
Thank you for the video. Great keyboardist!
Sounds gorgeous!!!
My only real concern is the headphones being the only output. Otherwise, I’m really interested.
GO:KEYS 5 has line output.
How much the Go Keys 3 vs the Go Keys 5 cost in comparison?
Go keys 3 is around £330 in uk and go keys 5 is £440 @kaisfp

Exactly what I'm wondering!
Can you connect the keyboard to the PC using USB and then access Roland Cloud ?
Or you forced to buy the WC-1 Cloud adapter?
Have I missed Go Keys 2??????

No you haven't, they just released go-3 and go-5 for some reason, no go-2

How many sounds can you layer?
Do you need the WC-1 wireless connector to connect to Roland cloud, zen apps, etc..?
Do the apps work with android?
I'm guessing that you've used the headphone jack to record the sound on your video? Are the internal speakers any good?
😊
What about the polyphony?

Is it good for music production? Im not in a budget.
this should be around 200€, last Casiotone's pricing or it will flop
Having played the newer Casios in- store: if the keys are even SLIGHTLY better the cost difference is irrelevant.

Why is it called GO: Keys 5 on Roland Site?!
two different models

Is this the newer version / generation of go keys ? And how is it different from Go keys 5
5 has microphone input and a harmonizer
and 1/4 inch jack line main output, and 1/4 inch jack "Ctrl" input for expression pedal for example.

Nope. They skipped 2 and 4... There is also a Go keys 5. The 3 has minimal connectivity, while the 5 has the traditional inputs and outputs.

What is a "content creator" in this context? Either way, looks like a cool portable keyboard.

Can you layer sounds, or is it the same as the gen 1 with only preset layers?
you cant, save up for something better.
Does the Go:Keys 3 have an audio output to connect it with a mixer / audio interface or only a headphone-output?
The 3 is the same as the original, I believe, but there is a 5 as well. It has traditional ins and outs.
it's a simplified stereo output. Use the right stereo converter, and you can connect it with a mixer or interface with traditional way.

How do i use it as midi could someone help
The midi functionality is connected via usb on the back of the unit.
