One of the best games ever on the Sega CD. I would have been about 19, when this came out. Back then, you had to have a piece of hardware to play it, which cost several hundred pounds. Nowadays, you can emulate it through freeware. About right.
All Sega CD games are becoming like game currency in the retro game community 😊 as time go on & games get harder to find playable buying a physical copy of a 40+ year old game going to be like finding an Egyptian relic long forgotten😢
This damn game. I can’t remember if my buddy and I ever beat it. It was very difficult to see some of those bullets on the TV he had. But man that ending. What even was that?!? Thank goodness there were better shooters.
So much for what little story there is, eh? XP At the very least I can say this is still leagues beyond Curse. Not that it takes much to be better than *that* game, but...don't play Curse.
@@Sheriffhyperofficial sega stuffed up after md I guess stuff like 32x was just euro fantasy, don't know if they begged the Japanese to develop it hahaha
Game Creator Staff…WOLFTEAM
When you heard that, you knew it was getting real.
Still has one of my favorite soundtracks in all of gaming, especially for the second level. I miss this game a lot.. 😩

I rented the cartridge game back then. It was called _Sol-Deace_ instead. Never finished it so thanks for showing the full CD game! 🙏
Great shmup...the x68000 version is also very good!
This game came bundled with the Mega CD version 1 in Europe.
Wolf Team 👌
I prefer the X68000 version with music via CM-64, but this is nice as well.
Very nice indeed. I think the music is actually taken directly from the X68K version!
Fun Fact: That's George Takei talking in the beginning, narrating the story.
Fantastic content.thank you for sharing. have a nice day!❤👍
Amazing game❤

For my entire life, I've never been able to understand what the announcer says when starting the game, just before 'Wolf Team'.
"Game Creative Staff...Wolfteam"
正しく超常デゴザル😊
Must be running at 256 resolution or something.
Yep - I think it was 256 x 192, and artwork (backgrounds etc) is actually drawn to take account of 4:3 stretch

Honestly, after i plaied Thunder Force IV on Genesis, this title look likes not so good....especially if we consider the upgrade mega cd
AL82
Graphically sub-par and some weird pacing at times. Not a bad game though, not great either.
Graphically subpar and not bad? witch is Which?
I played this on recommendation - I have to admit, I wasn't that impressed; there are better shooters.
Sega cd was piles, they should have rather developed a 32bit mega drive cartridge system, basically 2d pixel home arcade more powerful than the neogeo
Isn't that the 32x?

for a sega CD game, graphics is poor, ending is poor, it seem be easy, thunderforce 4 is better ^^ Well play :)
Its more of a Sol faeces, then!
Didn't take long for someone to make that pun ;)
This is just an average port of the X68000 original.
Well, in comparison to other Sega CD games this one is actually good.
