PonyWatch Yeah, I heard that one remix you were listening to last night. Personally though I think a lot of the beauty of that song was in its simplicity. The remixes I've so far really seem to take more away from the song than they add to it IMO. Maybe there'll be a decent cover in the future though, I could definitely see that happening.
Narrator007 Yeah, the ideal cover would use some kind of classical instrument like that, and maybe add a few original verses to lengthen the song a bit (much prefered to just repeating the same lines over and over).
Another fun reaction to another awesome episode! I did like getting to see Luna at work yet again -- it seems to reinforce the idea that, as Princess of the Night, her duty isn't to create dreams and nightmares so much as to monitor the self-created dreams and nightmares of others ... intervening in nightmares when and where she can to nudge the dreamers into resolving whatever inner fear a pony is having difficulty coming to grips with on their own. I have to wonder, was that hall of dream-doors _only_ pony-dreams involving worries about cutie-marks? If so, I'm sure Luna will be glad to have three less doors appearing in that particular star-strewn hallway of her domain tomorrow night! Luna must be awfully busy at night, tending to "dream triage" -- finding those afflicted with the worst issues and stepping in there first.
Loquacious of Herd Yeah, Luna's pretty awesome. And I guess now she's visited all three of the CMC in their dreams. I hope she'll be continue making appearances to characters in the future. I thought it was kind of interesting how similar Luna's aether filled with doors to people's dreams looked to the place Celestia took Twilight near the end of magical mystery cure. Is this some ability unique to Celestia and Luna, or is it an alcorn thing, or what? There's lots of interesting theorycrafting that could be done here... When Luna initially made the doors appear, I assumed she was going to tell Apple Bloom that they all represented ponies with dreams involving being worried about cutie marks. When she didn't though and instead pointed out two specific ponies who were having those dreams that made me think it's more likely that those were just doors to dreams of all kinds, not necessarily to those on any specific topic.

Just as other ponies' cutie marks can have multiple meanings, perhaps Celestia's and Luna's do as well. Since Celestia was able to control both the sun and moon while Luna was banished, the royal sisters' marks may not represent the celestial body that they can manipulate best, but rather what part of ponies' lives they have powers of near omniscence during. Celestia can see and know almost everything that happens in ponies' waking lives, while Luna can see everything that happens in their dreams.
I don't know if you guys have seen it but if not I'd like to see you all do a blind commentary for the MLP FiM parody Ultra Fast Pony and maybe even the other parody Friendship is Witchcraft.
I love this episode so much. For one it's a CMC episode and a luna dream episode. I love that we get a lullaby sung by Applejack. Each of the nightmares Applebloom is one of her fears. I wonder if the Twittermites are real or Applebloom dreamt them up. I knew it was a dream but almost thought it wasn't when the first dream went on so long. Even though I haven't seen it this episode reminded me of Groundhog Day. It also reminds me of the fan game Story of the Blanks. I think Luna's job before becoming Nightmare Moon was to help ponies with their nightmares and is just starting to help more than one pony at a time. Also the CMC's dreams show that they subconsciously know what their talents are but are just afraid to fail. Also Babs is good at cutting because she is a city pony. And what was with the weird dolphin cutie mark? And what episode is the longest Big Mac's voice actor has spoken Applebuck Season, Ponyville Confidential, Filli Vanilli or this one And Vinyl and Octavia FTW I ship them so much8DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. I also think the CMC are going to get their cutie marks this season. Last thing I think this was a great lesson.
Supermonaman SuperMonaman Yeah, the time loop thing has been used quite a bit. Personally I haven't seen Groundhog Day or played Story of the Blanks (though I know a bit about both of those works), so time loops remind me more of Haruhi Suzumiya or Steins Gate or that one episode from TNG (Cause and Effect). Also, good point about the dreams. All three of the CMC really already pretty much know what their talents are, they just haven't realized it yet. Their fears of "what if I get a cutie mark I don't like" and thoughts that "we'll get all our cutie marks together" shows that they don't really understand yet what a cutie mark is about. (Though maybe they do after this episode?) Getting a cutie mark you don't like should be pretty much impossible imo, since a cutie mark is basically a representation of yourself and your character. Unless you hate yourself, you're not going to get a cutie mark you dislike.
Rewatching this makes me wonder... what would've happened if Apple Bloom's cutie-mark had a pear instead of an apple? Fanfic Writers, maybe you should make an AU story about that.
Andrew Meyer I know. SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN’T SEEN SEASON 7 She’s always kind of stood out in the Apple family, which makes me wonder if she takes more from Buttercup’s side. Also, imagine Granny’s reaction if that had happened, and what the siblings would do after hearing the story.
The last movie we had tacos, this season we have pancakes Next season: Pizza :D If my headcannon is right, Celestia has access to the "life" plane. Twilight had to be dead in order to be born again as an alicorn.
Discorded Brony Yeah, I think I've heard the "Twilight died and got reborn Gandalf-style" theory before. I'm not really sure whether I agree with it or not, as I've only seen that scene from magical mystery cure once at this point. I'll have to look at it a bit more closely when I watch it again. (We're about a season and a half away from that at this point.)
PonyWatch 3:14 "She's turning into Twilight." Looks like somepony's been getting a little *too* much Twilight Time. 4:47 "You can't get your cutie mark in your sleep!" Back in Call of the Cutie (s1, e12), Cheerilee told her class that one morning she had woken up to discover that her cutie mark had appeared. 8:57 Lyra mustache you a question! 10:26 "The ROOSTER laid an egg!" Yep, that was your hint that we're still in dreamland. 14:35 Don't believe it, Applebloom! The cake is a lie! 21:40 "What is it with pancakes in this season?" Expect to see Hasbro-branded pancake makers on store shelves in the near future.
This episode was a lot of fun to watch. Season 5 has been pretty sweet so far, can't wait for the next episode!
And boring

Applejack's lullaby
Luffyiscool Yeah, that song was really good. Very meaningful within the context of the series, and with a great message.
Luffyiscool Wait for the remixes of that song. It's already happening. ^_^

Andrew Meyer Best possible covers: Cello or piano.
Narrator007 Yeah, the ideal cover would use some kind of classical instrument like that, and maybe add a few original verses to lengthen the song a bit (much prefered to just repeating the same lines over and over).
Luna has control over the mindscape, and Celestia has control over the ether or omniscape.

Narrator007 Yeah, that might explain a few things. Celestia knows all!

102089 Yeah please, UFP needs more commentators.
Andrew Meyer I'm pretty sure I've seen bits and pieces of each of those, except Ultra Fast Pony. It should be quite interesting to watch them later...
I liked this episode

Given some of the events later in the series, a pear for her cutie mark actually wouldn't be too out of place.
