You said you drill the oil holes right through so it falls on the crank... But I thought the side hole was to lubricate the wrist pin? So when the piston is at bottom of stroke the hole lines up with the wrist pin?
no. the piston is oval shape and the biggest clearance to the cylinder is inline with the pins. that allows for easy oil drainage. i drill straight thru the case because that allows the oil to drain right down the side of the case and lube the main bearing without touching the flywheel. these frees up some power from less oil drag inside the motor. tatro
Keenan, what size finger set is that fitted to your sunnen gauge and what diameter are you measuring for those races? I’m trying to size 1.5” on my standard length fingers (which is what I think you have fitted) and it’s right at bottom of the range of adjustment on the gauge, I think I may need the micro set of fingers.
the gauge was my dads so i jut use the fingers that fit. he has more than one set to choose from. one thing that you do have to do is stay on center of your bore or your size will be off. guess how i know that one. tatro
