as someone who played turn based strategy games in the style of BG3(XCOM and fire emblem) if you get the right people to do the combat system it can AND WILL absolutely spiral into something far more dangerous than arkham batman, a game like that with the batfamily would be simply insane
Cool vid brother. I think in this hypothetical game I'd go for a high dexterity build. I think it's an incredibly underrated type of batman in general. I think it would be cool that instead of charisma exclusively making villains like you, it acts more like a reputation meter that you can customise. You could maybe be a people person who sympathises with criminals and persuades them to leave, or you could be the embodiment of terror. Whilst Max Strength could make you knock out low level enemies with a single well placed hit, Max Charisma could make a lot of low level thugs simply flee, or at least be weakened from terror. My dream batman game would be a game where you don't play as Batman at all. Just a random thug who's trying to make it. Dependent on what villain you decide to work with is what determines the story and how you play, and a playthrough ends when you die. In most play-throughs, you probably wouldn't even encounter Batman at all, but you'd hear about him. And he does exist. Of course, an encounter with him wouldn't be fatal, so it wouldn't end your playthrough, but it would be one of the scariest parts of the game. Anyway, forgive my rambling, I just love the topic of hypothetical Batman games. You earned a sub
A Batman game by Larian studios would be cool but personally for me I would really love a Superman game by larian studios mostly because for me I would really love a Superman game finally but under them, and making this game involve the Superman family with Clark Kent Lois lane and my boy Jonathan Samuel Kent Superboy as his little 10 year old self and Conner Kent Superboy supergirl and many of the other Superman family members with larian studios would be really awesome and badass in my opinion.
That can be interesting for some Superheroes or anti-heroes if done correctly but Batman makes the most sense as you explained because there is much more that can be done with both Bruce and Batman that maybe hasn't been done before
2:48 I think that this could be done better with an armor switch mechanic, like, you have 4 different armors you can choose, one for combat, one stealth focused, another who boosts his detective abilities and finally a balanced one. You will be able to switch them on the fly, but it would take some time till it is delivered to you Arkham City style, so you must choose carefully what armor you want before starting a mission, it could start as a simple investigation, but it could become an all out brawl whose enemies might be stronger than your Batman current stats and armor, so you could choose the balanced one before the mission, or call in the combat oriented armor before or during the fight.
the idea of a Batman game where you can choose different skill-sets sounds similar to picking different characters, like for Robin's, Tim Drake is more skilled in detective stuff, Jason has more street smarts, Dick has more acrobatics and Damian has more martial arts training
Just let it be a less is more Batman game. He doesn't need to be Ninja James Bond who needs a Q as he is his own. Let him be Ninja Doc Savage the genius polymathic scientist, inventor, physician, Tactician/Strategist, and deductive. He doesn't need all the advanced tech built by someone else to do the majority of the detective work. It should be only Batman, Alfred, and Dick Grayson Robin to humanize him as anything else is unnecessary. I would hope the game wouldn't take inspiration from the overrated Telltale games and the AWFUL Earth One comic. His combat should be like the upcoming Phantom Blade Zero game with the Wuxia assassin style but nonlethal for Batman. The stealth should be like the Splinter Cell games but more advanced since it's Batman. Let him do scientific side things like in the 2018 Insomniac Spider-Man game. Lastly, the bat-suit should be Superman/Batman Apocalypse Batsuit and a main villain that isn't Joker.
Im still pissed about game awards and Spider-Man not winning I DON'T CARE IM NOT PLAYING A BATMAN D AND D IM PLAYING BATMAN TO SEE HOW FAR MY FIST CAN GO IN SOMEONES HEAD WITH OUT KILLING THEM ALSO NO THAT WOULDN'T WORK BECAUSE BATMAN IS MEANT TO BE GOOD AT EVERYTHING BATMAN SHOULD NOT BE IN A TABLE TOP GAME IT SHOULDN'T BE TURN BASED ITS THE SAME REASON I REFUSE TO PLAY BG3 (also because of game awards fucking bullshit) AND MARVEL MIDNIGHT SONS D AND D RUINED GAMING AND NOW EVERYONE WANTS TO BE D AND D IN THINGS THAT DON'T WORK
Baldurs Gate 3 did something no other video game has ever done before. I really love Spider Man 2, but Game of the year was a One Horse race. Baldurs Gate 3 was not losing it, its the same idea with God of War Ragnarock vs Elden Ring. Both are amazing but only one of those 2 games did something nobody has seen in a very long time. That's the reality of it
“I don’t know about you, but I would love to see Batman rizz up someone like Poison Ivy or Harley Quinn” 💀
That's a lot of words for saying you just want a Batman harem game💀
Bg3 is pretty fun but it's definitely not a batman game
