Because it’s a free update game 😢
Because Nintendo either never updates games we like, for example Mario Party Superstars, or takes 2 years to add free dlc to games we don’t care about, or takes like 5 years to add paid dlc to games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
And the update's not even out yet 😭
Because they can afford to not care till they feel like it obviously.

Honestly, a Nintendo Switch Fit would be a good way to get everything other than baseball and boxing. But Nintendo probably still doesn't want to acknowledge the Wii U

Golf was added in November 2022. I hope they didn't take that long for this but only recently decided to add more sports. Hopefully boxing will be added too.
To be honest they shouldn't have made their focus on the non-miis considering this sports series started with them, it would've probably had a lot less hate
then again this is very lacking..
If they add 2 or 3 more sports I think the game will be fine cause golf, tennis, and bowling are the only good ones. They need baseball, boxing, and archery or something

@@exonymat1471Hot take: having the characters match the art style of the rest of the game (which is trying to be it's own thing and not just yet another Wii Sports game) is a good thing actually. You can still use a Mii if you really want, they're there in the character menu.

Maybe there were too many bugs and glitches and so they couldn't add it, Idk I mean I feel like the original had a little bit of it but I wouldn't say it was that bad but just had some things that sucked

This is the last thing they've added since Golf which was late 2022. The game still needs Boxing and Baseball to have all of the sports that the original game did. We probably won't even get another one lmao.
Let's just hope the next Switch Sports game has more effort put into it than this one did. They could do something like Wii Sports Resort again.

More than 1.5 years for one sport to be added. We're at 8 sports now, several of them are just hitting a ball over a net, and Sports Resort still has more sports.
Quantity does not equal quality, but variety and options add value.

Im thankful that they update at all and not just release a new game like with Mario Party. But adding mostly features from a game that is a decade old after years is still crazy
As an optimist, my theory is that it took 2 years to update is because they have bigger things in the update, but they only decided to add basketball so that when people check it out, it will be one of the biggest Nintendo reveals of all time
No, I don't think it took them 2 years, for me they just wanted to make people play this again.
Sorta like the Booster Course Pass, except the stakes were as high as the sky in MK8DX, so they really had to cook and ad essentially a whole new game to it

Clearly this is a game that the dev team only works on once in a while and they otherwise have other stuff to do, this definitely got no development priority. They somehow had to DELAY the Golf update, and then the next update was 2 years later. At least they didn't abandon it completely, adding more to it is good especially considering how sad and lackluster the original release was, so that's a slightly welcome surprise.
...... yeah I'm sticking with Wii sports resorts since that game is FINISHED.

You know, Wii sports had a wider variety and higher quality when it launched versus switch sports.
And Wii Sports Resort was absolutely legendary, in my opinion at least
