The writers of Miraculous set up this really interesting story with Nathalie and the broken peacock miraculous but they’re too set on maintaining the status quo of a childrens show to really go in depth with it, and this animatic explores the tragedy of Nathalie’s character beautifully, well done
As someone who isn't invested in the story beyond this cinematic, I could follow the plot very well. You conveyed the emotions so well and it's such a good concept!
i think it's because natalie is still sick. the miraculous was fixed, but it didn't cure natalie. and she's still sick enough to stay in bed when ever she appears onscreen.
I thought that at first but now I see why for plot reasons that they did; Gabriel let her use it when it was unsafe but never used it himself. He let his wife and Natalie both use it fully aware of what would happen, and only until the miraculous was fully repaired, did he take it away and use it for his own agenda. Gabriel’s intentions at first glance seem so wholesome but honestly he’s a manipulative prick and the creators going with this route just solidifies that idea, especially since he’s been neglecting Adrien just to get back his perfect picture family :/ I wonder if he even loves Adrien’s mom or just the idea of her
@@lunarispledge1154 Ikr. I don't think they knew the peacock miraculous was broken when Adrien's mom used it. But the fact Gabriel used Natalie like that man makes my blood boil. Too many times I have seen this happen in real life too. And chasing after something that no longer exist rather than loving honouring his wife for who she was and what she meant to her family. Its not living if you don't. Its obsession.
After this, I'm just wishing that Nathalie enters a coma and Gabriel notices that he lost her and that he was so focused on something he couldn't have that he ignored what he already had.
Honestly, I'd rather that to not be the case. She doesn't have to pay because of *his* obliviousness It'd be better if she decided to leave than fall in a coma for him to wake up, Natalie could grow as a person. Plus it still leaves on Gabriel the impact of losing what you neglect. Keep in mind, his own son is also affected by his behavior. So who knows, if Natalie leaves him _maybe_ he will then focus on what he has left, instead of mourning yet again for one more person
I never considered how frustrating it must have been for Gabriel everytime he asked for Mayura's help and failed. Because he knew he risked Nathalie's health for nothing.
It's almost like gambling in a way. Willing to risk it all because you got SO close last time! One of these attempts HAS to work! And it just keeps perpetuating a loop of trying just one more time over and over again because he can't stand to be stuck thinking "What if I tried one more time? What if I gave up just a bit too soon?"
I love how you focused on Natalie and how she's faring in her situation. This was even emphasized by the fact that you drew Ladybug and Chat Noir with nondescriptive faces, further focusing on Natalie and her sole goal to help Gabriel, even at her own expense. Each picture conveys so much emotion that I can feel what it would be like to be in her shoes. The scenes flow together beautifully and fully match the song, which is absolutely amazing!

Gabriel didn’t want to risk getting himself hurt, so he made Natalie think it was because she was special but really it was because he didn’t want to get hurt himself so he made her take the hit instead. Now that it’s healed (the peacock miraculous), she’s not a need to him anymore. Ouch Natalie, ouch.
Ohhhhh the heartbreak of watching this after watching the disaster that was season 5 :’). I loved the ideas the show had with Nathalie, and this animatic is everything I wish the show was.
I can't express how much i love the "I've been big and small and still nobody *wants* me.." part, the role of assistant that Nathalie has, joining Hawkmoth, the beginning of her sickness and how it's slowly damaging her health, yet Gabriel never return her feelings and still goes over his obsession with Emilie. it's just amazing how fitting it was.
I love Nathalie so much that this animatic pulled my heart apart ;-; I hope with season 6 Nathalie can finally live for herself? And love someone who loves her back- I hope Adrien appreciates his second mom. I’m full of so many emotions!!!! I just care HER!
Now that season 5 is slowly being released we do get one ep that is more focused on nathalie thankfully, giving hints as to how her and Gabriel met and how she fell for him but he fell for his wife, and how she just became the third wheel to their relationship and now having to care for her lovers child and watching obsess over his dead wife. and it really sucks how she loves him so much as to risk her own love for his crazy obsession, this would be considered how she shows her love for him but he cant even see what she does for him. Gabriel's obsession has extended beyond bring back his wife to defeating lady bug and chat noir, as seen in the first eps of season 5 when he has the time travel miraculous and he has the chance at stopping his past self from giving his wife the peacock miraculous (which was an idea given to him by Nathalie) he instead chooses his obsession in defeating lady bug and picks her trap which ends with him no longer having the time travel miraculous, he literally had a chance at getting his wife back but nope, later at the end of the ep Nathalie scolds him for doing this, yet she doesnt remain upset and continues to help him which later on leads to the ep mentioned before. But fr Nathalie deserves so much more, she is out here on the edge of death for this man and not only that but is even willing to bring back his wife, the woman that took him away from her, just for him. I would really like there to be more depth into Gabriel and nathalie's relationship and would like her to realize how much more harm than good they are doing and her actually trying to stop gabriel, that or (Ik it sounds a bit harsh) her finally dying in the hands of gabriel making him realize that his actions have consicuences and how he is hurting the people around him bringing him to a stop or her death instead further fueling his rage towards lady bug and chat noir making him go on a rampage making him much more vunrable allowing for lady bug and chat noir to use this obertunity and bringing hawk moth to a final end. TLDR; Nathalie deserves more, hawk moth needs to go to therapy and get over his wife as hard as it is for anyone who actually took the time to read this thank you for reading my rant, i really love this show but i just wish we could do more with it if it weren't made for kids, plus they need to stop adding filler eps and character development eps for unimportant characters (ex: chloe and her goon), bc they fr made us wait 8 years for what we have now and have to wait 4-5 years for the next 2 seasons for this show to end. again thank you - toothpaste
I wish they stayed true to the original plan of catering to an older audience instead of selling out as a kids show. the writing would have allowed for more insight on the supporting characters and antagonist. I feel like Natalie and Gabriel could have been excellent foils to Marinette and Adrien. Her love for Gabriel could open a side plot of Agreste family drama. Gabriel could have realized that he’s fallen for Natalie and has this inner turmoil of picking Natalie or continuing his actions as Hawkmoth. UGH THERES SO MUCH UNUSED POTENTIAL WITH THIS SHOW ITS AGGRAVATING
