Hi Matt I love the loads on the bulkhead flats. I think I have 8 Walthers coil car kits to build and 1 used one that needs some TLC. I'm finally going to be able to start my benchwork.
Good finds with the coil cars. I was at that show too! I didn’t really find too much I needed though sadly. I also heard there was table with EXTREMELY low prices and people were pushing and shoving like a Black Friday sale…insanity!
Thanks Andrew. I never saw that table. Had my 2 boys with me so was a little distracted. Still some great deals that I passed up and as usual, kicking myself now.
Great loads on the flat cars Matt👍👍As far as those UP coilcars. On my community page, a little way back. I posted some pics of old GT coilcar hoods in Hamilton. Just a thought. Good work,as always.🚂🇨🇦
Nice coil cars. Could be a bad dpdt switch with the tortoise. The mid stop position shouldn’t matter. It should just activate when you go past stop and over to the on position. Also double check how you wired the tabs on the dpdt switch. You can also test the tortoise itself by just powering each side without a switch.
Thanks for taking the time to write. The switch does work in both directions as I reversed the wires at the power source and flipped the switch and it went the other way. At least that's what I think, correct me if I'm wrong please. The connections would have to be good if the tortoise moves in both directions after reversing the power supply wires. My setup is not exactly as the "DCC Guy's" setup so maybe that plays a role? He is pushing 16 volts and he has an LED in the circuit. I'm using 9 volts without the LED in the circuit.

Nice one Paul. That's a lot of cars to build. Congrats on the start of the build!

Please post a video on how you do your weathering. Looks nice!
Thanks very much. My weathering is very much trial and error. That said, I'll try to do a few more videos
nice work Matt!
Thanks Wade!
Nice pick ups…
Thanks. This show had some very good deals. Unfortunately it was the show that I purposely limited my pocket 💰.

Great suggestion. I do like the mismatched hoods. Are those the hull red colour or the grey?

Nice finds Matt. I'm wondering if your switch motor issue is in the diodes?
Could be. I'm following the DCC Guys set-up but not to the letter. I'm waiting for some parts in the mail to try something else
I don't think the ussx car has a prototype
Thanks for confirming. Given what I found for the 2 UP coils I think you're right. I may just do a plain rusty Grey hood. Thanks for watching
