I comment on your post now while I just watched 8 seconds opening of your video, literally found what I needed. I am keen to become a promoter and help people to not go through what I have been through for my entire pro career as a boxer. I'm an Iranian pro boxer based in China and would love to connect with you guys in order to bring my people into the world of boxing.
Im in the class of 2020,and bearly getting involved of the world.... please help me get involved I know I'm capable into taking this town with a better reputation
make a name for yourself in your amateur years. After that, boxers on your weight catigory all around the world will come challenge you to prove that they are stronger than you. After the first few wins, the request for a match from boxers all around the world will continue
One thing I dnt understand about the booking of pro boxing fights why they rarely if ever give the boxing fans the fights they want to see & they always carter to casuals who are not the die hard fans most industry die when they don't give the fans the product that they want
Short answer: division of promoters looking to maximize short term value. Long answer: the pay for fighters to sign to these big fights is designed to strip away the industries ability to re-invest in the sport. Casuals applaud that a boxer makes $50M in a fight, but fail to realize that this tends to rip money away from the undercard, infrastructure and growth of the business.
Promoter can be a full-time job once you start doing regular shows. Ask Roy. Once Nick did them for a few years, he personally decided that opening a management company was better for his long term goals. Others prefer to do monthly shows. It's all about what you want out of it.
Roy is a club promoter. Not a current world champion promoter. However most stars began their careers on his card. Shane Mosley, Oscar De La Hoya, among others.
