He didn’t explain how they get paid good, it’s either he don’t know the business side or he don’t know how articulate the business side

0:44: 💰 The best path for a young boxer depends on their name recognition and leverage, with some promoters keeping fighters at a certain level to maintain control.
5:08: 🥊 Boxing promoters invest in young fighters and recoup their money on the back end if the fighter becomes successful.
6:38: 🥊 The speaker discusses the unfair treatment of fighters by promotional companies and the challenges of securing athletic brand sponsorships in boxing.
10:08: 🥊 The speaker was offered a deal to fight for Black Prior for $10 million, but negotiations with another party fell through.

What a wasted opportunity to ask some really good questons.. for instance:
How does the financing work for the investors of fighters and their events, whether it be promoters or hedge funds. For instance, it’s one thing to bitch about an investor wanting to recoup his money, but than I’d love for Terence to explain to me who negotiates with the networks, who lays out the capital to rent the venue, insurance, marketing.. all pre-fight expenses that the “boxer” does not need to expose himself to. Yes, he is the one who fights and is ultimately the product being sold, but the monetary risks reside with others.
Why not get to the root of how the financing works and how that interplays with purse expectations.
