Fratton Park floodlight pylon taken down | Inside Pompey

The first step in the plan to relocate one of Fratton Park's iconic floodlights to the North Stand car park took place on Tuesday (June 18).
The ground staged the first ever floodlit Football League match in 1956 against Newcastle.

The loss of an iconic landmark, they should relocate the other 3 towers to prominent sites around the city, as lasting landmarks.

The new floods lights located on the roofs are not bright enough, if you look at the light quality before and after you can see a clear difference.
Great work all round for the redevelopment of Fratton Park don’t get me wrong, but the current lights need to be looked at.

Its a sad sight to see. End of an era

Would love to have the floodlight *ON* - in use, on matchdays (after matches in autumn, winter, spring) - and of course midweek games. You'd still be able to see it from some distance. A real feature. I know that was the original plan, I wonder why it got amended? (Shame).
