Hello and Welcome to another video from Thomas at BOAB models. Today I will be showing you how I built a 1/1250 scale replica of Fratton Park, home stadium of Portsmouth Football Club.
The stadium was first built in 1899, the year after the club was founded. Fratton Park's location on Portsea Island is unique in English professional football, as it is the only professional English football ground not found on the mainland of Great Britain. It currently has a capacity of 20,899.

FYI - I got the scale calculation a little wrong when I made the video and said 1/400 - I think it's actually closer to 1/1250!

Great skills and details. Glad your dad liked it. My first match there was in March 1982. Myself and a friend had waited outside the ground to get the players autographs. One of autographs we got was from Mick Robertson of Magpie and Free Time children's shows. He arranged for us to have tickets for the next home game against Walsall which Pompey win 1-0.

Love it I’m jealous, first game in this beautiful stadium was 2017 Portsmouth vs luton 2-1 and Cameron McGeehan broke his leg in front of me and a few years later he joins us 😅😅

Been to Fratton park many times, Last time was against Barnsley in the Fratton End a few months ago, Game ended 1-1, I Live about 3 hours from Portsmouth so I don't frequently go to home games.

Really clever work. My first game there was a boring 0-0 against Middlesbrough on a freezing Tuesday night. 😂 Going again next weekend, nowhere like it when the crowd get going #PUP

You're right there. The only time I've seen Pompey play Boro was 5-1!

Its a nice model and looks good on the frame . My first time was Christmas 1965 , with terraces Fratton park was widely regarded as one of the best and safest grounds outside the top tier during the 60s and 70s and held 45,000 at one time . Certainly the current work makes the hurriedly installed seating of the 90s a lot better . It would be nice to see a classic 60s version a alongside to make a pair .
