    Dave, great to see you back in the Quehanna! A few weeks ago, I did the trip from Hoover Farm out to Crawford Vista, camped at the big campsite near Meeker Run. Also, I am awed that someone else is rockin' out to the Dead in the middle of the woods! Keep on tokin'!!!

      I bring whatever I can fit on my ancient mp3 player. A favorite is Nassau Coliseum 1990.

    New sub here ! Love the honesty and the gear review. Also the camp fire talk is a plus, not meny youtubers do that. I plan on doing a solo camp soon, in the Birkhead mountain wilderness NC this week. Great inspiration.

    Glad you were able to get out. Nice piece you got there. I dig the new gear like that grill. I've been sticking with freestanding tents lately too for the small footprint. That one takes up so little space.

    • @stonedapeadventures

    hey man. foind your vid after looking for more slingfin splitwing reviews, have you used it in rain and wind? what didnt you like about it, if anything? considering leaving the lanshan 1 pro at home this year and switching to this. i already know that you cant sit up in it, which is a minor con but i can adapt (though i tend to sit upright in the morning and have a coffee).

    • @stonedapeadventures
      @stonedapeadventures  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I really like my splitwing. I've seen tons of rain, it's quite versatile I have nor had it in any major wind, handled a small snow load. for most of my trips it is my goto, but I'll be using the portal 1.
      with the salting you can raise it pretty high to be able to kind of sit up

    I'm looking at that bag liner from Alpaca gear. Do you carry it mainly to extend your sleep system in colder weather or is it more versatile? I love their stuff but that's a good bit of fabric to tote and it has an investment size price tag.
    Ohio is legal in 9 days🫠

    • @stonedapeadventures
      @stonedapeadventures  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I use it mostly in bumper season and to extend my quilts....I can't quite put my finger on how much it adds . I'm guessing about 7° F. if I'm on trips longer than 2 days, I won't take it and use a lighter silk liner mainly to keep the bag clean. also will use it as a stand alone In the warmer months.
