GTA San Andreas is totally based on California, everything are 100% copied from the real places.
But you forget a very famous and historical place, which is Route 66. I believed, the Bone County is heavily inspired from real life Route 66, because there are everywhere just desert and cactus.
Also, in real life, there are very few traffic cars seen driving around Route 66, and there are no cars and people on the main mother road at all!
Same thing in Bone County, there are only a few industrial vehicles and trucks seen driving around and some roads have no cars and people at all!
So basically, Bone County - US Route 66!!! 😊😊😊 👍👍

I live in San Diego, been to LA many times. I recognize many places. But I guess if u r from the Midwest, or another country, u would not see that those are real places. With a little twist added to them. Yeah, los santos is basically Los Angeles.
