  • In this video, I share how I converted my 2014 Ford Fiesta into a car camper with a complete platform build. My DIY car camper platform build was done with minimal tools or carpentry experience. A huge shoutout to all who have shared their car conversion/builds, as I took what I learned from others and applied that to my own unique car camper platform build. I will be living in my car fulltime in just a few days, and I feel the platform I built is an excellent foundation to begin this epic journey into nomad life.
    Thanks for watching!

    Hi Debra! I’m sort of like you watching car life you tubers and would do it in an emergency! I like your step by step videos and of course because I haven’t seen too many ford fiesta car campers! Your story is very informative! I’m sure I would try it maybe for an overnight trip or so and if my back was against the wall I’m sure I’d be in my Fiesta! Thanks again for making it real!!👍

    This is a great channel as you show and talk about a lot more details than most and I give you so much credit for trying to car camp in a ford fiesta as I own a 2919 Ford Fiesta and just found out the seats fold out to sleep inside the trunk in an emergency if you don’t store a lot of junk in your trunk! I like that you show how your downsizing out of your apartment into a small because I know car and doing all this basically by yourself I’m sure you researched this enough to get you going! I find the tent over your hatchback good interesting is that a tent where you can stay and can you stand in that tent! I find your story slightly different than other car dweller people and am interested how you make it work! Thanks again for your honesty and show all the highs and lows? Yes, I think staying in the area or places you know is a smart idea and getting storage is a plus! 👍

      @DebraBehrens-sn4bi Hi Debra. Two Debras in Ford Fiestas! Cute! I do keep things real - it's all I know at my age now. This has probably been one of my greatest challenges, but I really love it more and more each day. Are you setting up your Fiesta to car camp? My tent is amazing, but a lot of work unless I'm staying put for a few days. It's the Backroadz SUV Tent. It basically has a cathedral ceiling, probably 9 or so feet tall at the center point. I feel like my storage unit and my rooftop cargo were essential for me doing car life in such a small car.

    Good build for a car.
    The only thing that I would advise is that you remove the duct tape.
    It will degrade and just become a sticky mess.
    Binge watching.
    Good luck.

      @turbo8711 I might just do that. I have a big spring clean coming up, so when everything is out I can get to it. Lol binge watching! I'm the same! 😎

    Well done with the platform, thanks for sharing in the group. With such a small vehicle it really frees up so much space removing the front passenger seat. Looking forward to your setup and travels as a fulltimer. I'm just getting ready myself in my 4Runner, hello from California.

      Thanks Tina! At first I was a bit intimidated by managing in a small car/micro SUV, but surprisingly there's a lot of room.

    Nice job! Thank you for showing everything step by step. It looks like the floor isn't secured to the base pieces. Is this a safety issue in an accident?

      Thank you 😊 It's secured to the floor at the front of the base. That platform floor isn't going anywhere - it's solid.

    I must have missed you mentioning it... Are the back seats removed or just folded down? Did you put the front seat in storage?

    • @CraftHarlot
      @CraftHarlot หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The back seats are removed.

    I'm irritated! For almost the entire video, the driver's seat is on the left. At the end right!
