The beeping noises are SOS calls and from what it seems, Urbosa had the most gruesome deaths outta all the other champions. The booming piano probably signifies that Urbosa was electrocuted multiple times from the Thunderblight Ganon and suffered multiple wounds before her body was destroyed. Mipha had called for help immediately but by then it was too late. during the beginning of the song, just after the boom of the piano, you can hear urbosa’s SOS fairly clear in the left ear, before its almost completely overpowered by SAD in the right.
This theme conveys a feeling of sadness and melancholy. If you notice, this song plays the SOS in morse code. The way and the speed in which the beast emanates those sounds make me think that Urbosa died with despair, frustration and cruelty. Let's not even talk about how Urbosa died. Just thinking about how bloody the death could have been makes my skin crawl
@@tyresr It can be deduced from some details. Blights have piercing, stabbing, and massive weapons. From there you can assume the deaths. In Age of Calamity you can even see the beginning of each battle and from there you can perfectly imagine how the situation ends
@@tyresr (slightly disturbing warning) urbosa was decapitated, revali was blown up with lasers, daruk was burned to death, and mipha was pummeled to death by ice blocks
This song always fascinates me. It really captures the mystical desert atmosphere of Arabian tales. The ominous intro reflects the vast, harsh sea of sand under the relentless sun, this abandoned place where only the gods would witness someone's demise. On the other hand, the song segment seems to express the discovery of an oasis, full of tall trees casting welcoming shadows, water so clear and blue that it would put the heavens to shame, bringing promises of good fortunes, like magic and treasures hidden in this land. And who knows? For those who are brave enough to venture out, they may even have three wishes granted.
Everyone talks about the SOS that plays in all the divine beast themes, but there are also SAD (search and destroy) signals. And with this theme and miphas, the SAD plays before the SOS, implying that ganon reached them first. Could also be ganons way of letting the champions know that if they arent dead already, theyre going to be next.
I'm listening to this with headphones and I just realized... The left ear (which is a bit quieter than the right) will play SOS-Urbosa calling for help. And the right ear (which is louder) will play SAD-Search and Destroy. Presumably the Blight sending out the attack signal.
My favourite Divine Beast theme. The piano on the first part is brilliant (especially because the striking chords never fully go away), the synth work in the later parts is unbelievably tasteful, and the little groove with the guitar works wonders
there is a secret message that is in all divine beast music. for the boys, daruk and revali, it plays on the right ear and on the left are the girls mipha and urbosa it sounds like this . . . - - - . . . it is real morse code and spells the SOS pattern. it is likely a messages from the champions before they died to calamity ganon. once you hear it, you can't "unhear" it. it just makes the music a lot more spookier and on the opposite ear there is another one but no one knows what it says
when i got to this part inside the walking divine beast and about half way into the trials I just let link stand there and took in the music. its so good I was tearing up. This kind of passionate and emotional songwriting without drums is incredibly rare today. one of the best songs of the last decade as far as instrumental music goes and especially video game music
yeah right in the beginning you clearly hear SOS on the left side ... --- ... and on the right side you hear SAD (search and destroy) ... .- -.. well hearable at 0:08 edit: the signals get even faster after some time
Vah Naboris’ theme doesn’t have SOS in it at all. If you listen closely, the Morse is … - - -.. SAD Urbosa knew she couldn’t be saved, she knew it was too dangerous. She knew and accepted that she was going to die in her battle
It does have SOS, but it's super faint and not as noticeable as the SAD call. It's also fitting as Urbosa was the furthest away from her Divine Beast when the Calamity struck. By the time she got to hers, the others were already in battle and in trouble.
A difficult dungeon(?) to be sure, but the one that, in my opinion, has the most beautiful themes to accompany it. The part that plays after you activate all of the terminals is just... glorious. I adore it. :)
This music is so good. All the music in this game is fantastic, but I love the divine beast themes so much because they carry the most heartbreaking stories while still being hauntingly beautiful. What strikes me is that Naboris' and Rudania's (Urbosa and Daruk) themes seem to be a lot more "strong" feeling, like they carry a sense of pride almost, while Ruta (Mipha) feels fearful and menacing and Medoh (Ravioli) feels panicked. My personal headcanon is that the older Champions died with a sense of pride or honor, like they were fighting (and dying) for their respective cities while the younger Champions were terrified, lost, and scared. It's all so sad and it makes my heart hurt. Crazy how a videogame can leave such an impact on people.
3:56 just sounds like urbosa and gerudo town.. makes me think of urbosa in the last moments of her life... And gerudo town about to lose their beloved chief..
Considering her quote before striking the calamity in the game about Ganon's past life, she seems focused on legacy and like the type to look beyond her own lifetime. I read the Gerudo Village tune in the end of this track as more so comfort in the strength of her people, a somber pride in the fight she put up for the future of them, confidence that even though she failed she will be succeeded.
@@lilpetz500 Yeah, that's how I hear it, too. As if she's content despite having lost this fight, because she believes the Gerudo will survive and prevail in the end, anyway.
Phahaha I just discovered this morse code thing and it's really funny, because for the fandom this seems to be a "did you know Aragorn broke his toe when he kicked the helmet" moment and everyone is trying to "uhm actually, did you know" xD
I'm not a music expert but this is how I interpret this song from the start to 1:10. The piano. Thought your adventure this instrument has been frequently used, be it the serene melodies that play when in the unpopulated of people yet full of life wilderness of Hyrule to its more frantic tones when encountering the rouge Guardians. In a way it acts almost like a heart beat showing that even after 100 years life can and will go on. With Vah Naboris the piano sounds like a cold mechanical droning, there is no life aside from you, a few robots and the malice that is controlling the ancient super weapon. If the other piano examples are heart beats than this is like musical version of an electrocardiogram flatlining.
Vah naboris was my first beast and this theme is so depressing i had such an unsettling feeling. The other beasts' themes are like "We fucked up but all is not lost" and vah naboris with these heavy piano notes. brrr
It's fitting too when you look at where the Champions were when the Calamity struck. They were in the Eastern portion of Hyrule, at Lanayru Road's East Gate, at the base of Mount Lanayru. The Zora and Goron lands are nearby, meaning Mipha and Daruk were able to quickly run to get to their Divine Beasts. Rivali can fly and could quickly get to Rito Village to get to his Beast. But Urbosa had to cross the entire country, from East Hyrule to the desert, in order to get to Vah Naboris. By the time she was able to get there, the other Champions were in battle, if not already defeated. Urbosa was the last to join the fight and the last of the Champions to fall (I feel Mipha falls first, then Daruk, then Rivali). It makes sense that the Vah Naboris theme is the most forlorn out of them all, Urbosa basically started the fight with all hope already lost.
i cant even describe in words how nostalgic this is. this theme and vah ruta's theme made my heart beat so fast while i was playing. my palms were so sweaty my joycons started drifting, tears streaming down my face everytime i died, throwing up a million times because of stress, this is what really made up my childhood. thank you so much, appa, for buying this game for me. you completed my soul with this game.
After the dramatic beginning were all 3 are sending the sos signal when you can clearly hear 3 sos in a row, once ur boss unfortunately dies and the sing switches tone randomly in there is more sos from revali but he thought he could fight back, but urbosa was not there any longer to hear the desperate calls for help from revali, the soundtrack of this game is a,saintly horrifying like in the hurdle castle theme, no spoilers though
There is a first part that seems so "dark" to later be a more chilling part where we can hear Urbosas theme, maybe meaning she took the initiative in the fighting against thunderblight gannon...
The broadcasts sent are higher and lower pitched Morse code, the higher one sending SOS at the beginning, and the lower pitched one sending SAD, or Seek/Search And Destroy. It’s unfortunate how the Champions died, but I’m curious how both broadcasts match. This is definitely seen as the Champion of said Divine Beast being Killed, but why one broadcast is SOS at the beginning and then SAD in the end is… It’s unnerving.
All of the divine beast themes are so macabre but I feel like after listening to them all again, Vah Naboris sounds the most brutal. My thoughts are that aside from them matching the elements of the blights to each divine beast and their champion. However I can’t help but wonder if ganon wanted the champions to be beaten by the champions element proving that he’s better, cuz he could’ve sent the different blights to the champion of which the element they were “weak” to. It also makes me think that the hardest divine beast in my opinion is Vah Naboris but I am curious about that since what if Ganon had known a Gerudo was the pilot for it and wanted to punish her for not following her “king”
I like to imagine the sudden piano slams and odd bits where it seems like the pianist is pecking at the keys in the beginning is the lightning and static (that you can see on metal weapons when you're in danger of being struck with lightening), and Urbosa was practically a walking lightening rod, assuming her armor (or what little she had on) was made of metal, it almost sounds like she was dealt the fatal blow right off the bat, but held on for as long as she possibly could, reminiscing on the good days and remembering all she was fighting for as her body was gradually overwhelmed by the electricity and attacks from ThunderBlight.
I love this theme and divine a lot more because this was my 1st divine, I wanted to do it so I could get enough hearts to get the Master Sword and it was a hard but fun boss.
It just creep me to hear sos in morse it's in all the music but the one un urbosa is way much harder i think it's because she had a more tragic death that just make me cry when i learn morse and i heard sos in all the music but it kinda make sense
Kinda contrary to what this theme represents, since you can hear the S.O.S morse code in the background, and the heavy piano notes with build up in the beginning probably makes reference to lightning, which probably means she was electrified several times before falling, she was literally pleading for help on her last moments. There ya go, good nightmares ;)
My theory is that he didn’t send out his SOS last out of pride, he knew he needed help sooner but rather than call out for help (which at this point would have been Link) he stood his ground alone so that Link would be able to get to Zelda. He heard the others SOS signals and knew he would be alone and sacrificed himself knowing it meant getting more time for Zelda
For some reason when I listen the first 3 terminals, I can't stop thinking that they could also fit easily in a Metroid Prime game in areas such lost ruins or inside a buried Space Ship crashed in the desert.
Fitting theme for a setting after an apocalypse; the Earth scorched into a barren wasteland where nothing can be grown again and the surviving humanity struggling to hold on to hope while slowly heading to extinction.
this theme is the most creepy by far and also the the da da da daa daa daa da da da is a morse code text like this ...---... saying sos and this is hiden with all divine beasts and these were the last mesages lest by the champions before they died to the blights
This theme, along with the noise that Naboris makes whenever you rotate its interior, made this section way more unsettling than it had any right to be, in my opinion.
This theme feels…somehow suffocating. 1:061:08 (with the higher pitches and her SOS call at the beginning) Thinking about what Lady Urbosa had to go through in this beast, against Thunderblight? Especially with certain parts starting slower, then getting faster later in the theme, it really shows how Urbosa was thinking. At first, she doesn’t really see TB as the biggest threat of her life( 1:16). Then, when the music begins to increase tempo( 3:35 *especially here:* 4:56 ), she’s realizing that battle could cost her her life, and it did.

How do people know how the champions died? Is their cutscenes in the dlc?
@@tyresr It can be deduced from some details. Blights have piercing, stabbing, and massive weapons. From there you can assume the deaths. In Age of Calamity you can even see the beginning of each battle and from there you can perfectly imagine how the situation ends
@@ELpipas5259 ohh alright
@@tyresr (slightly disturbing warning) urbosa was decapitated, revali was blown up with lasers, daruk was burned to death, and mipha was pummeled to death by ice blocks
@@crystalbuck6721 I'm pretty sure Urbosa was electrocuted multiple times before decapitation, and Mipha was impaled and bled to death
I dont care what anyone says, Naboris was my favourite divine beast.
same
Especially how fun thunderblight was for me
Thunder blight is HELL

Brooo this one is the most puzzling of all ong
Everyone talks about the SOS that plays in all the divine beast themes, but there are also SAD (search and destroy) signals. And with this theme and miphas, the SAD plays before the SOS, implying that ganon reached them first. Could also be ganons way of letting the champions know that if they arent dead already, theyre going to be next.
I'm listening to this with headphones and I just realized... The left ear (which is a bit quieter than the right) will play SOS-Urbosa calling for help. And the right ear (which is louder) will play SAD-Search and Destroy. Presumably the Blight sending out the attack signal.
If you think about it. BotW Beasts are like a 5v5 Online shooter where your whole team died and you now have to carry them
I love how dark Zelda games can get with their stories
My favourite Divine Beast theme. The piano on the first part is brilliant (especially because the striking chords never fully go away), the synth work in the later parts is unbelievably tasteful, and the little groove with the guitar works wonders
there is a secret message that is in all divine beast music.
for the boys, daruk and revali, it plays on the right ear and on the left are the girls mipha and urbosa
it sounds like this
. . . - - - . . .
it is real morse code and spells the SOS pattern. it is likely a messages from the champions before they died to calamity ganon. once you hear it, you can't "unhear" it. it just makes the music a lot more spookier and on the opposite ear there is another one but no one knows what it says
It's spells out SAD (Seek and destroy)
@@weiwuxians3rdhusband yea
The other ear is SAD
Actually the other Morse code spells S.A.D, which is a message from calamity Ganon to thunderblight.
P.s sad stands for search and destroy
@@weiwuxians3rdhusbandthere's 2 morse codes, SOS is the other one
when i got to this part inside the walking divine beast and about half way into the trials I just let link stand there and took in the music. its so good I was tearing up. This kind of passionate and emotional songwriting without drums is incredibly rare today. one of the best songs of the last decade as far as instrumental music goes and especially video game music
yeah right in the beginning you clearly hear SOS on the left side ... --- ... and on the right side you hear SAD (search and destroy) ... .- -.. well hearable at 0:08
edit: the signals get even faster after some time
Vah Naboris’ theme doesn’t have SOS in it at all. If you listen closely, the Morse is … - - -..
SAD
Urbosa knew she couldn’t be saved, she knew it was too dangerous.
The part that plays after you activate all of the terminals is just... glorious. I adore it. :)
It's been a little while since I've played, but I remember Naboris having the hardest puzzles to wrap my head around.
@@randomwowjunkie
Yeah, it was tricky for me, too. I couldn't do it without a guide.
Thinking about it. If Urbosa had time to grab the Thunder Helm, she might have stood a better chance.
Maybe but she still would’ve been to tired to fight after a while because of thunderblight’s fast attack pattern
She didn’t struggle with the lightning as much as the speed
Ok, it is kinda scary but dont tell me the last part is beautiful 💕
1:10 love it
best part
It sounds like Town Centre music.
@@lilpetz500 that's a really beautiful interpretation. There's something so special about the music in this game and this is definitely part of it
@@lilpetz500 Yeah, that's how I hear it, too. As if she's content despite having lost this fight, because she believes the Gerudo will survive and prevail in the end, anyway.
hardest beast in the game
boss, attack, puzzle, pre-attack (shock arrows, finding yunobu, yiga clan, archery test)
Phahaha I just discovered this morse code thing and it's really funny, because for the fandom this seems to be a "did you know Aragorn broke his toe when he kicked the helmet" moment and everyone is trying to "uhm actually, did you know" xD
Listening with ear buds is a win, SOS in one piece and SAD in the other.
2:56 is where it starts to REALLY hit
4:00
this whole place gives me god of war temple of pandora vibes and i love it
1:10 I don't know why but I just love this part
I swear every time i listen to this theres more stuff hidden in the song i didnt know about before
I'm not a music expert but this is how I interpret this song from the start to 1:10.
This is my favorite video game track of all time.
The best Zelda ‘s theme ever
Ubosa really had the worst of it huh? The intro was quite unsettling...
I'd opt to die from head loss then being reduc3d to a a puddle of blood
There is a first part that seems so "dark" to later be a more chilling part where we can hear Urbosas theme, maybe meaning she took the initiative in the fighting against thunderblight gannon...
My favourite piece from the whole game.
This has always been my fav divine beast, but the music is just so much more unsettling than all the others, it’s amazingly well made
this was the best divine beast theme ngl
@Chandler Burnett oh shit I meant this was the best 😂
@Chandler Burnett 😂
The broadcasts sent are higher and lower pitched Morse code, the higher one sending SOS at the beginning, and the lower pitched one sending SAD, or Seek/Search And Destroy. It’s unfortunate how the Champions died, but I’m curious how both broadcasts match. This is definitely seen as the Champion of said Divine Beast being Killed, but why one broadcast is SOS at the beginning and then SAD in the end is…
It’s unnerving.
Reminds me of exploring around Blasted Tokyo in SMT 4, I wonder what it'll be like if New York was nuked into a similar desert wasteland
Just came here to listen to this amazing piece of music, but after scrolling through the comments now I have depression lol
Facts like damnn lol…
idk why but for some reason the first half gives me really strong mid - late 2000s vibes. dunno if it's just me or something else
It's the type of synth, a lot of games and music from that era used it. Idk what it's called tho lol
Wow, this…is actually kind of haunting.
0:00 is the sound of reloading to try and get that stupid hanging chest with magnesis.
I love this theme and divine a lot more because this was my 1st divine, I wanted to do it so I could get enough hearts to get the Master Sword and it was a hard but fun boss.
should I do this next? My first was Vah Ruta and I've been trying to decide between medoh and naboris

It just creep me to hear sos in morse it's in all the music but the one un urbosa is way much harder i think it's because she had a more tragic death that just make me cry when i learn morse and i heard sos in all the music but it kinda make sense
Miphas is the most tragic imo, she tried to hide from the divine beast, she knew she had no chance against it.
Why has this seemingly become the only upload of the original full theme on YT?
Because Nintendo's an ass.

You can hear Gerudo Town in Naboris's theme! I didnt notice until now 😭
I'm just gonna imagine Urbosa got struck by lightning and somehow dissapeared...

the first 3 seconds are like a godamn jumpscared
This theme come to my dream btw
When i was about to sleep i play this
And then…..you know
I’m dreaming urbosa save me from thunder blight ganon 😮
Kinda contrary to what this theme represents, since you can hear the S.O.S morse code in the background, and the heavy piano notes with build up in the beginning probably makes reference to lightning, which probably means she was electrified several times before falling, she was literally pleading for help on her last moments.
There ya go, good nightmares ;)
Might be my favourite theme from Breath of the Wild
I love this theme
My theory is that he didn’t send out his SOS last out of pride, he knew he needed help sooner but rather than call out for help (which at this point would have been Link) he stood his ground alone so that Link would be able to get to Zelda. He heard the others SOS signals and knew he would be alone and sacrificed himself knowing it meant getting more time for Zelda
For some reason when I listen the first 3 terminals, I can't stop thinking that they could also fit easily in a Metroid Prime game in areas such lost ruins or inside a buried Space Ship crashed in the desert.
Did this Boss fight scare the shit out of anyone?? I can’t imagine playing this alone at night…… 👀
Fitting theme for a setting after an apocalypse; the Earth scorched into a barren wasteland where nothing can be grown again and the surviving humanity struggling to hold on to hope while slowly heading to extinction.
this theme is the most creepy by far and also the the da da da daa daa daa da da da is a morse code text like this ...---... saying sos and this is hiden with all divine beasts and these were the last mesages lest by the champions before they died to the blights
also theres a morse code SAD, Search And Destroy, signal (... .- -..)
such a beautiful song and such sad meaning
TOTK will never make me feel what I felt with BOTW
This theme, along with the noise that Naboris makes whenever you rotate its interior, made this section way more unsettling than it had any right to be, in my opinion.
marckid93, I didn't know that AT ALL, and this is going to give me nightmares.
I hear this and I keep thinking of Better To Travel by Swing Ourt Sister... the similarities are definitely there.
This theme feels…somehow suffocating. 1:06 1:08 (with the higher pitches and her SOS call at the beginning)
Thinking about what Lady Urbosa had to go through in this beast, against Thunderblight? Especially with certain parts starting slower, then getting faster later in the theme, it really shows how Urbosa was thinking. At first, she doesn’t really see TB as the biggest threat of her life( 1:16). Then, when the music begins to increase tempo( 3:35 *especially here:* 4:56 ), she’s realizing that battle could cost her her life, and it did.
So much more atmosphere than anything in TOTK
