      2 questions:
      1.) Are your RPF1's 17 inch diameter?
      2.) Can you or have tried out the Cobb tuner? They were pretty popular with other makes, so I'm curious how their Mk8 tune is.
      Thanks for making these videos!

      Thank you for your kind words. I expect many stupid arguments to still ensue, lol. What many people have to consider is that these graphs don't even come close to telling the whole story. When people watch my next subjective video I think a LOT of people will be blown away.

      @@VancityAudiI didn't hear but will you be doing drag strip comparison runs in addition to the street impressions? Would love to see how these graphs actually translate to the strip.

    • @VancityAudi
      @VancityAudi  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @05pharmd my local drag strip doesn't open until April, and seeing as very few GTI owners will actually be drag racing their cars, I more than likely won't be doing days of filming, providing direct comparisons. I will though be taking it racing to see what I can do on a particular day with a particular setup, and sharing that with you all.

      I’d love to see how much timing it’s pulling on the 91oct tune

    • @BrodeyDoverosx
      @BrodeyDoverosx 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s pretty easy to do. You can bump up max timing advance limits and adjust the knock control algorithm (largely just the target tables).
      The risk you get when building in a lot of adaptability is that the total timing curve may not end up being smooth. So there are many ways to skin the cat and reducing adaptability is a good idea in racing. You don’t want 10% more/less power depending on the corner that’s you’re accelerating through.
      6 in one hand, half a dozen in the other.

    @Natural11001001 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    Great comparison. Personally, I'd go with 034. Probably a little slower at the strip, but their promise of respecting factory safety programming seems reflected in their chart. Smooth curve is a little less exciting, but much better to daily.

    • @gerspeed
      @gerspeed 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@VancityAudi the comment was previously made in the last video that an OTS was specifically requested since UM possesses custom tuning capabilities for individual end users. The fact you were instructed to run the same file on higher octane solidifies that for many reasons and also shows the confidence in both output and reliability in their tuning even when lower octane/bad fuel is run through the vehicle including retaining of various safety parameters, particularly knock sensitivity.

    Covered 5 Tunes and only displayed 3 in your closing review. Which, one was a standard Stage 1 tune and thus - the higher torque value.
    The interest in power is within the delivery of it and not the quantity.

      @MegaHollywood1971 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@VancityAudi Sure you went over the results of each and then straight to the Highest Number winners for each category. It's not the highest number that's important - but, perhaps that will be in the next video part you state at the end / which is the driveability portion of it. The newer turbo versions for the Mk8's are surely more efficient, but not that great when pushed like the IHI Versions.

      @VancityAudi  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @MegaHollywood1971 man, just continuing with the incorrect assumptions. The Mk8 EA888.4 motors have proven to be epic performers. The Golf R's are already running 10.6's with a stock turbo, lol. No chance in hell the MK7's were doing that.

    im assuming the gauge left of the dash is a boost gauge i wonder how much an FMIC would help on the higher boost tunes i saw it hit 28 for a sec on one tune and the inlet temps started getting a bit spicy on the saucy boost tunes. great vid always look forward to the next

    • @VancityAudi
      @VancityAudi  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are correct. That is a P3 gauge reading my actual boost levels. The peak intake air temps are shown on those same shots of the boost gauge in text. I'm positive that an intercooler upgrade would help when I'm making more power, but at these power levels and in the temps I'm testing in, I'm not sure how much of a difference they will make. I'm sure a little, but probably not much.

    Interesting results, Lots of different ways to produce power and it will be interesting to hear your subjective comments on driveability. Initial smooth torque I think will win DD contest and potentially the track if you can have better 60' times. Once this is done will you select the tune you'll use as a DD? Plans for testing with corn power E85 blends Exx :-) and dragy?

    • @VancityAudi

      During my subjective video, I'll be sharing which tune I've spent the most time on while daily driving.
      An E85 dyno comparison will be coming up after that.
      I want to provide you all Dragy runs but so far, the cold & wet conditions paired with skinny 235 winter tires, plus not having an ideal place to perform the testing, has prevented me from doing so.

      Might not be faster then 034, higher rpm horspower is most important factor in straight linę race. More torque in lower Rpm gives You more push to the seat feel but also is stress for na engine internals. Personally i choose tunes with flat limited torque.
