Saying hello from New Hampshire USA. I'm a raw beginner. Felting is so fascinating so I thought I would take a "stab" at it and I'm loving it! Thank you for all your videos which I will be watching over the next few weeks. I've already poked a finger so I feel I'm officially committed to this wonderful craft!
thx a lot to give us a lessin how to start a a beginner. Your work is amazing, i am watching from Frankfurt in germany while i am sitting on dialysis session.❤.
My dear cat was killed several days ago, and I've came across a youtube video where a person felts pets of people. Unfortunately, they are completely booked out, and so thanks to your inspiring videos, I've decided to try and felt my late cat myself. Thank you for the great videos. They really help me start with felting.❤
So sorry to hear about your cat, they are completely our family and it's always hard to say goodbye. I am glad my videos have helped, thank you for watching xx
I'm so excited. In the last couple of years, we have lost some of your babies. My autistic son 32 had a cute little dachshund named Dex we had him for 22 years. And his back was intact. I lost my pug of 14 years Nefertiti during COVID. It was awful. My daughter just got a new dog. And my youngest another dachshund he's still with us.I'm hoping that I can make these for my kids. Your doing great thanks for the good help.
I’m so glad I found this site. I’m trying to felt an American bison and I was needing to figure out how to use more bendable wire for him without using 12 gauge thick wire.
I am a new felter and have been looking for good tutorials. I am so happy I found you. Thank you for being a great teacher. I have been binge watching this morning. Look forward to watching more.
Been thinking about taking up needle felting for years! Just discovered Philippa’s videos tonight and they have inspired me to finally take the plunge! I live in the US, but going to try to use her affiliate links to buy my starter kit.
What a great tutorial! Have watched several of your tutorials and can't tell you how helpful they are. Very informative. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge about felting, as well as about how to go about selling it. Looking forward to more of your videos. :)
Hi Philippa, another great video. Thank you. I really wish I had discovered needle felting 6 or 8 months ago when there was more time. Right now, with Thanksgiving just around the corner and Christmas not long after that I'm really busy helping a grandson make gifts for his siblings; so not much time for new things right now. However, I'm so glad I found your videos. I'm not ready for armature yet but at least now I have an idea of how it is done. THANK YOU!!!
Thank you and glad you like the video. Hopefully after Christmas you will get more time but it is addictive so it's good to be able to have some free time in case you really enjoy it, thanks for watching xx
Thank you but all it is is practice and time, I've been doing this for over 5 years and you improve with every felt, choose good tutorials to improve your skills and only felt things you are passionate about. Keep your first felt and then after a year compare it, you always improve but don't realise it xx
Thanks for all the help ... And confidence .. I've been felting for awhile now and I used armature for the first time last week ... I made a snake to get my bearings and now I'm doing a octopus...keep making videos there really helping
I do the same when I'm working, I watch alot of Etsy business vlogs as it's so interesting how people run their shops, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for all your comments x
I've just started with the rabbit kit for my grandson that my daughter brought me, it came out great, now im just doing a pumpkin and loving this craft after finding your video's that inspired me. Thank you x
I really appreciate your videos - they are always so reassuring and very informative. Sadly, I spend more time watching them than actually making things. Thank you
Only done a sheep but really enjoyed it. I have been ordering supplies and now really need to get stuck in now! I wish there were some good classes nearby (Lincolnshire) - I like the social aspect and the hands on experience. I think that would give me a good start. xx
I make or try to make smaller items use pipe cleaners mostly. I have brought florist wire and tape for bird legs.....ohhhhh bird legs🤔 Brilliant video Happy felting
A great lesson thank you, I achieved my first animal which I wanted to use for my granddaughter soft book. Not a bad result for a first timer. Loved the way you demonstrate very clear.
I have not tried felting yet but I'm getting a good idea through your very clear instructions. I love many animals. I've seen lots of felting by others so I really think I'm going to give it a try. You have helpful ideas. Thank you and Happy New Year 🎉♥️
Loraine Chudzinski Thank you so much. I am just starting felting and am scared to death regarding armatures I’ve read a great deal about using them. I watched your video and feel much better. You have a wonderful way of teaching and making one feel very at easy about trying something new.
Brilliant because that's how I felt in the beginning and it's not that bad, practice really helps and you just have to do it, whatever happens your piece will be stronger than without an armature. Thank you so much for your comment and for watching. I hope to do a video on problems with armature and how to solve them but it will be in about 4 weeks, lots more video's before then x.
Thank you for the great video. I am so new at this that I haven't yet bought any materials so I will definitely watch your tools video as well as your other ones before I go spending. Thanks. Julie in Australia
Great tutorial, I think one of the best on TH-cam :)you have such a lovely voice and clear instructions that it’s a pleasure listening to. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge
Thank you, that is so very kind, I have just done two video's on craft fair's and hope to do one on pricing craft items very soon, thanks so much for watching x
Aahh, thank you so much, I make videos I wanted when I first started as I couldn't find it all. Glad you enjoy them and thanks for such a lovely comment, makes it all worthwhile 😀 x
Just found your videos tonight because I’m thinking about trying needle felting. I watched lots of different people’s videos & I have to tell you that you do a fantastic job of explaining things! The speed at which you teach things is perfect. I’m excited to start now after finding you & your page!! One question about this video in particular… When you were making the sheep’s leg I was wondering- are you trying to avoid hitting the wire, or do you just go for it and not worry about the wire?
Hi, good to have you here and I hope you enjoy needle felting if you do try it. When felting around wire I do just go for it but I hold the needle lightly in my hand so it's more likely to bounce off the wire and generally I start with a thicker needle (36) and progress to a finer one if needed, thanks so much for watching ❣️
So glad I stumbled upon this video. The best one I have watched. I am a beginner and your video is so well explained. Going to check out your others now! Thank you for producing these.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience in an informative and clear video ! I admire your loads of patience and artistic ability , too ! All the very best !

I just love your videos. Take your time cuz I watch them over and over to learn and follow along. You are a great teacher and I appreciate how you showed what was happening close up. I like how you explain what you are doing and why. I've been felting for a while, but it really takes time to get good. :) I loved the bloopers and the all your "friends" that helped you at the end. haha I'm Kim from Canada by the way., :)
Thank you so much, your feedback is so lovely, I just want to show everyone how to do this, it's not too hard once you see it all explained and then give it a go. I do have lots more video's planned they just take time, thanks so much for watching x

How did you make the unicorn so smooth and finished looking?? Love your videos, really enjoy listening to you speak! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience-so inspiring!!
Thanks so much, it could be the wool you are using, is it carded, have a look at my video on how to get a smooth finish too, smaller needles will really help x

You are a wonderful teacher! I am just about to try my first project - a snowman kit. Can I do needle felting with regular quilt batting?
Thank you, I'm afraid I've never seen quilt batting but basically give it a go, it will scrunch down and stay together if it works x
Thank you so much!!
Thanks for watching ❣️
Thanks for making this video, really helpful ^^
Glad you liked it x
Wonderful
Thanks
Thank you. Very interesting
Thanks for watching ❣️
Hi! Could you use polyester stuffing to do the initial wrap around the body, instead of carded wool?
Yes, absolutely, sometimes I find the polyester stuff can create a bumpy surface if it is too close to the top but use up what you can if it is further in x
