I used to make a lot of things out of metal and wood which required me a lot of space and gear. It also was quite dirty and noisy. Now I live in a camper truck (thanks to the plandemic). So, I'm new to this hobby, and as an old man on top of that.... It's just so relaxing. I already made quite a few animals and each one turns out better than the former. I love that thing as I can quickly make funny and beautiful little objects I can later offer to the people I love. In my learning journey, you are my favorite teacher out there. I figure why not practice, but also because I was already waiting all week, so by the time I finally get that package I might lose motivation! So I wanted to get into a project in the meantime~ (Technically yesterday though because it’s midnight by me)

Hi, no I didn't do an armature for the head, I find it's not usually necessary, unless you want to animate it's mouth, then you might want to try to create a wire armature for the jaw etc. Hope this helps, thanks for watching

Hey Julie, I hope you are doing well. Can you explain how I can make the mouth and the other features in the head to be moveable as you showed at the end of the video for stop motion? I know it might be a hard question, but I will appreciate any explanation.
Hi there, thanks for this, I made a frame out of wire for the mouth of the spider at the end of this video, so that it was moveable, the eyes are made from polymer clay and placed into a socket that I felted so they are loose and easily moved. When you make the eyes out of polymer clay make sure you put a pin hole in the pupil so that you can animate them easily. I explain this a bit more near the end of this short video here: th-cam.com/users/shortsqhXwrTVPSLY?si=igqHRAou9oyp0gBN I have been meaning to finish a cat that I wanted to animate but haven't got round to it yet, sorry about that 😊 hope this helps and thanks for watching
Yes I believe you can needle felt using your cats fur, although I've never done it myself, sadly I don't have a cat at the moment. Hope you have fun felting, would love to hear how you get on 😊 thanks for watching
Thanks for the question, you can use black core wool if you have it, but you don't have to. In one of my other videos I make one of these wire armatures into a mostly black cat, by using white carded core wool and then coating it in black wool. The main reason for using core wool is usually core wool is a cheaper wool than dyed coloured wools, and if it's carded core wool will be easier to felt into shape, hope this helps. Oh I see, you could try wrapping a pipe cleaner around the twisted wire, I've seen another needle felter do this to help the wool to cling to the wire. Hope this or the tape idea helps, thanks
