I was all for beating him legit until the curse that stops you from being able to attack happened. Then I decided to give him a taste of his own medicine.
Oh you have no idea, I was trapped in a pattern of big plasma ball and Arrow shot. 3 times in a round he did the arrow thing. At the VERY beginning of the match opening move.
I still can't get the cheese to work. Thousands of tries. He always bounces off a wall or rock face. If he touches anything including the edge of the map he immediately breaks combo and goes invincible.
I think my game is patched cuz I'm on the switch.😊

I've always felt that Donald got screwed over by not having as many good Support Abilities by comparison to Goofy (& really everyone else in KH2). Here are some Abilities I think that Donald should have gotten in KH2 (and this goes for KH3. Here's to hoping that they'll bring the KH2 system back! Including the Revenge Value system):

Magic Finale - increases the power of the last spell or Signature Move (type of Limit Break) by 50% right before entering MP Recharge. Equip more to boost effect.
Vitality Surge - when HP is full, Physical Attack goes up.
Vitality Defense* - when HP is full, Physical Defense goes up.
Vitality Magic* - when HP is full, Magical Attack goes up.
Vitality Sage* - when HP is full, Magical Defense goes up.
Vitality Critical* - when HP is full, % of Critical Hits goes up.
Vitality Barrier - take 50% the usual damage when HP is full.
????? - when MP is 0%, Physical Attack goes up.
Berserk / Striker - low on HP, Attack goes up
Defender - low on HP, Defense goes up
???* - low on HP, Magic Attack goes up
???* - low on HP, Magic Defense goes up
Grand Slam - when HP is low, % of Critical Hits goes up
Damage Control
Second Chance
Once More
Second Wind / Hyper Healing
Auto Change
Auto Healing
Abilities that should be exclusive only to Donald Duck's Staff Weapons:
Shell* - reduces received Magical Attack damage by 10%
Sheller* - reduces received Magical Attack damage by 20%
Shellega* - reduces received Magical Attack damage by 40%
Heartless Maul - increases the damage the user inflicts against Heartless by 30%
NOTE: * are abilities that I made up that I wished were in the game(s).
I threw my pride away and used this strategy. but at least i finally got the trophy

ErikIsEpic you're lucky. He goes completely ethereal. All my attacks just phase through him, not even doing a pinch of damage and he flows right into combo after combo becoming even more invincible.
I can't wait to finally beat this boss for the first ti-- I mean the second time!

I've tried God knows how many times. Got far a few times but then he went crazy and couldn't be in the fight any more.

@@Zonefire15 guard or dodge roll when he approaches.
it may or may not help since this can mess up your timing as well, but if he's dashing at you and touches the rock he can miss Sora entirely. it's 100% reliable but it might help.
either way, it's best to just learn to timing and react normally
for a note, most grounded organization member are vulnerable to this
so, xaldin, xigbar and xemnas are not an example of those who can be 'cheesed' like this
If you have side slash in bezerk jump up push the enemy into a corner then bezerk side slash them 😂

This strat does work on other bosses as well near the end of the game. I've used it on most of the data battles. Critical is no joke and I'm not good enough for it yet. So I'm gonna cheese my way through the end.

@@kylelangdon6724 The timing is harder than it looks on screen. If you drop your concentration for a second, and mess it up, a lot of the bosses will then kill you, especially on critical. For the data fights, this works on: Larxene, Axel, Lexaeus, Saix, Marluxia, and Roxas. For Xemnas, this doesn't work, but session spam with 8 elixers will do the trick.

I counted how many times he killed me before I beat him legitimately. 46 times..... Then I saw this and felt myself die inside.
And people say Donald is useless.

maybe donald was dead and you didn't revive him with a potion.
maybe you're not fast enough to press at least 3 buttons in order to use the limit without auto limit.

After a huge 4 to 5 day struggle going through the data battles, I was finally able to defeat them all. Two of them I beat first try(Roxas & Xaldin). The others took a few tries. After the 4th attempt, I beat Xemnas. Vexen was the biggest pain because of Anti-Sora. Once I defeated them all, I FINALLY made my way to this guy and had the privelage to fighting him on my own. In my head, I was thinking(this is NEVER gonna happen. I'm gonna die IMMEDIATELY!!) 1st try, I took 5 bars off, then died. 2nd try, died immediately(stupid command lock). 3rd try, got smacked up into the air. Had 1 HP and had no time to recover and heal because he smacked me out of nowhere. So I gave up for a couple hours thinking maybe this won't happen. Then I looked at this video and followed the guide. The next try, I dominated him! Like wtf!? Why does this strat work!? XD
5 years later and this video has help me SO MUCH. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
How to beat lingering will

I knew about this strategy for a long time now but when I went to go fight the lingering will I chose to defeat him in a legit way. Even though he was a very difficult opponent to defeat on my last try I managed to lock him into a combo on his last five bars of health, which I was lucky to get because he usually counters if you get him in a really long combo.
This was so helpful! I am TERRA-ble at this fight. Seriously, I could have DONALot better! But it seemed like NOBODY was able to help! All of my friends were BRAIGing about how they defeated him, but I still couldn't! They were so HEARTLESS! This video helped though so I won't GOOF up next time! Now to go defeat the Lingering Will before I feel DIZzy from VENting so much! See ya real soon! :D

This is incredible. Works the second try after I messed up a few times in the first try. I just began playing for the PS4 last month and had completed everything in Jiminy's journal except this boss fight. I had nope I could do it. I watched different videos and it was so much information to know all the moves and the little tricks. I tried my best but it wasn't worth it (KH 1.5 mysterious figure was not as bad as thing, and I am pretty sure Yozora in KH3 is even worse). Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Reflega, Trinity Limit, and Limit Form are your best friends against Sephiroth.
also the double jump fro master form to stop him from using heartless angel.

Thank you soooo much. I’ve finally done it! I never thought I would do it and I’m a little annoyed that this fight is such a cheat. I lost the first couple of times on this technique due to the pain in my thumb. It’s a full thumb workout. The time I did succeed I accidentally broke the chain, panicked for half a second and then managed to get him again.

Wow thanks a lot man! This worked on the 1st try for me! I messed up at the beginning after using comet, he could hit me and put me to 1HP, Donald and Goofy were both dead and I found the right timing to hit him so I could finish him! I did it in like 1.30 min x) Thanks a lot! I would have never done it using regular fight I think x)

you can do that with Roxas to just run away in the beginning of the fight then he'll come at you to do the reaction command then take his keyblades and keep doing Ariel finish
you can do the same with Data Lexaeus, but you have to quickly use a summon (Stitch or Genie) before attacking because Donald and Goofy can easily attack him, thus ending the combo

I'd fight this guy over MF any day... Lingering Will is fair in the sense that if you learn the fight you can beat him. Difficult but fair.

Holy shit it worked I just defeated him thank you so much cynical (sorry if I spelled your name wrong). Love your channel by the way, like you Kingdom Hearts is my favorite video game series of all time. Your quick lore videos are very infomative and help me understand things about KH I didn't before, your rage videos are super funny (especially the dream eaters are greedy as f*ck), and now your guide video on how to beat Lingering Will actually works, keep up the great work. BTW I don't know if you still do quick lore videos but a topic I was thinking of is something that no one really talks about and that's "why isn't Sora considered a True Hero?". Because if you think about it when Hercules was willing to sacrifice his life for Megara he became a True Hero. So after Sora sacrificed himself to save Kairi and become a heartless that should have made Sora a True Hero, because a True Hero isn't measured by his strength but by his heart. And Sora has a pretty big heart since he is always willing to help his friends or strangers no matter what the cost so Sora should be considered a True Hero. So why is he not? Think about that and maybe do a quick lore video on it. Or maybe a quick lore on the sleeping worlds of DDD because I just played 2.8 and DDD for the first time and don't understand the sleeping worlds. So just throwing out some topics for a quick lore if you still do those and long live Kingdom Hearts

If it's not a hack, it's a valid strategy that takes advantage of programmed weaknesses, in my book. I used this strategy on the Lingering Will and several of the data battles. If that means I have failed to "git gud" at a video game, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
I did beat several data battles without this, though, and, the optional bosses (No Heart, Mysterious Figure, Eraqus' Armor, et.) in BBS. So, I'm not completely terrible. :-)

Amen to that. I beat all of the secret bosses and some of the data bosses legit like but the other half of data bosses and LW are just to annoying so im going to use this legit strategy and kick some butt!!!
Bro, just Reflect, push X and Reflect and keep on doing that. It's how I beat ever Data Fight, (Except Xigbar and Xaldin, I just used Bizkit strategy)

You can't loop data org that easy, there are different loops for each data fight.

I have a potential idea for one or two of your videos: How will spawn points/ save points work in KH3? After all, if each world is "open-world", then how would spawning/saving work? Spawning would occur in each "room's" entrance, and saving would happen occasionally in some "rooms". How do you feel they will work?

I came across this and it have helped me tremendously. I tried to beat Lingering Will the second time to test how this cheese is. Surprisingly enough you don’t even need Donald to make this cheese work at all. The second phase killed me many times. Especially when I was close to beat him legitimately until I had enough lol.
one week....it took me....one WHOLE WEEK(aside from eating, bathroom, and sleeping) to beat Tera....and your telling me......it could have taken less then a minute....IF I THIS SIMPLE AS FUCK STRATEGY!? HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN A THING!? Its been 3 years since I beat him...AND IT STILL HURTS! DX BUT THE SUCCESS IS WORTH IT! XD

KH2's Sephiroth battle has been watered down SIGNIFICANTLY in comparison to KH; for one thing, you actually had to defend against his Omnislash in KH instead of using a Reaction command.

After playing Birth By Sleep, I can't think of this Boss as anything other then Terra now, and i feel so terrible for the guy now. But damn! Nice job on this battle, I just recently reaquired the HD Remix for this so now I'm looking forward to fighting this battle for the first time now lol

One question comes to mind: Sora has managed to defeat The Lingering Will aka Terra, Riku's defeated Ven's dark armour, so it makes me wonder if at the end of the story in 2.8 playing as Aqua, that something will happen to her and that it will fall to Kairi to defeat her or something like a dark version of her? Similar to the one that Sora had to face on Hook's ship in KH1
