It's easy. 👌 Only thing I had to struggle with was equipping the right skills, I just never knew what any of them were since it's in Japanese. Surprisingly the voice in game was english tho
I’ve never fought Lingering Will, but I did fight Yozora on critical, and to me it looks like yozora is harder, but it looks harder to find openings in Lingering Will’s moves.
@@wyattbulen6500 the trick for Lingering will is watching his feet when he's falling, when he touchs the grounds after an attack it means he will give you a small opening to attack, other way to make him vulnerable is to counter his cannon ball attack, he will get damaged and lose about 1 bar and a half of health and you still can combo him until he recovers, but you have to be REALLY close to him to parry his energy ball, if you stay too far it will bounce back at you.
i remember when i beat this guy for the first time...... it was on critical mode which to me was very satisfying but yet funny at the same time as i never beat him on proud mode or any lower difficulty >.>
It's very possible. Many of us have played KH2 original so many times that we went straight for the crit experience in the remix versions. When the whole game's difficulty is this high you learn to play far more strategically and learn to be more reactive (well timed guards, reflect etc.). Lingering Will was a lot of trial and error for me on crit but very possible even if it's your first experience of him. You just apply all that crit mode taught you by virtue of reaching him :)
This actually makes sense because the lingering will could sense it wasn't riku and a keyblade wielder from destiny islands. While I don't think he has sight because he lacks a physical body I think that he has a daredevil like sense to him.
I like how Riku fought Roxas with a blindfold on, being Terra’s chosen one. In the World that Never Was, Riku was the one fighting with sense and Roxas was the irrational one. But here, Lingering Will is fighting Sora senselessly and Sora is the rational one. Riku knows exactly why he has to fight Roxas, but Sora has no clue who Lingering Will is, until KH3 that is.
This was the hardest thing I’ve ever done as a gamer in my life .. over 100 attempts hour upon hour of frustration but I had finally won! Am I missing something? How does he have 9 bars of Drive if this is the first time he fights Lingering Will? In 2FM you get: +1 from Barbossa fight +1 from Hostile Program Fight +1 from Sephiroth fight +1 from Marluxia Absent Silhouette fight +1 from Xemnas final boss +1 from Lingering Will fight (first time only). Because you start out at 3 bars of Drive, you should only have 8 at this point.

This is my kh experience: some friends told me Yozora is the most difficult boss in the entire kingdom hearts saga, more and more difficult than lingering will on kh2. Fighting Yozora on re mind: 1 day and about 40/50 tries Fighting Lingering will on kh 2.5: 3 weeks and 'bout 500/600 tries.
The most threatening attack on this fight isn't about his multi hit moves but that cursed bow attack that locks your commands and it drains your Hp one miss with low hp means an instant death not even last chance can save you from that
I would asume so for Terra to return. The armour is Terra's 1st Nobody after all with Xemnas being the 2nd. Both of them have his memories and some feelings. Xemnas talks in the Chamber of Repose with that armour. That is not something Xehanort would ever do. Xehanort never gave a shit about Aqua in BBS. His Nobodies and his Heartless ( The Guardian of Xehanort's Heartless) must be destroyed for Terra to return.
TheLastSound not exactly. It's clearly stated in BBS's ending that the armor is empty, and Terra's mind is what's controlling the armor, because the rest of his body accepted the fusion between him and Xehanort.
TheDarkMarioAndSonic Yeah I know the armour is empty, but that doesn't mean it can't be a Nobody. What is a Nobody? A body with a soul (or life force in this game), a mind, memories and a strong will but no heart. The armour has Terra's memories, his will and life force (it moves and fights), just like a Nobody. It's more Nobody than Roxas and Namine were. Think of it like this; the armour is a part of Terra and his body.
TheLastSound it makes sense at the same time it doesn't. Terra's Nobody, as well as Xehanort's, is Xemnas, because it's the Nobody of their fusion. Also, you commented that Ansem's Dark Guardian was Terra's Heartless, but that is a theory at best. Other thing, both Roxas and Naminé were Nobodies in their own right. Roxas was the conventional kind, having been born when Sora became a Heartless, and Naminé was a special case, also having been born from Sora, because, when he drove the Keyblade of Hearts into himself, he released two hearts, his own and Kairi's, therefore creating Naminé.
So, the Lingering Will is what was left of Terra after Xehanort screwed him over with the fusion thing: Terra's Keyblade Armor and his leftover will to wield a Keyblade. Almost sounds like a ghost story, actually. If I remember correctly, Terra was supposed to be skilled with earth elemental attacks, which he never used here. I guess there were some abilities his lingering will didn't get to keep.
it still blows my mind every time i am reminded that it was supposed to be Riku all along. If only he never went to the Darkness. I am still working my way through KH. I just finished birth by sleep and very close to finishing everything in time for KH3. Cant wait to see where the Birth by Sleep character go from here.
So technically we got a taste of keyblade form changes before it actually was a thing for example tera transform his keyblade into a whip then into a giga cannon
Yeah. I'll admit that was still a pretty tough fight, even if Dark Inferno's habit of strafing you every now and again gave you plenty of time to recover MP if you had to, and his attacks are definitely easier to deal with. Still way harder than anything else base KH3 has (Nomura has since shown his inner sadist with the goddamned data battles and Yozora) but hey, I'd still call it a fun encounter.
The fact that Sora goes from this skill level to achieving the same level of Keyblade mastery as the Lingering Will by the time we’re into the KHIII part of the story is wild. Sora is so overpowered in KHIII, it’s almost comical.
First TH-cam video of this fight that I ever saw had the music "Heroic Battle" from Digital Devil Saga 2 playing in the background instead of the actual in-game music. Now I can't watch this fight without hearing that track playing.
The Lingering Will Other Names: Terra Class: Keyblade Armor Abilities: Drill Attack, Ultima Cannon Shotlock, Rush Attack, Keyblade Glider Attack, Keyblade Whip Attack, Command Seal Attack, Command Change Attack, Bit, Super Wild Dance, Stamina, Agility, Speed Weapons: Keyblade (Ends of the Earth) Home: The Land of Departure (Formerly), The Keyblade Graveyard (Currently) Location: The Keyblade Graveyard (The Badlands) Alignment: Good Status: Active, later Restored
we just need a big family reunion with everyone joining in at the end to defeat Xen in KH3. Or Like Ventus, Aqua, And Terra in there own timeline fighting Xen, Same with Riku, Sora and Kairi fighting Xen in their own since he is able to be in different dimensions . That would be phenomenal.
I think we can now put some context behind some of Terra's words before the fight. "I know you. We've met before, way back when. No, that wasn't you. You're not the one I chose." KH3 reveals that Terra, distilled to a heart when his body was taken over, had been made into *The familiar his possessed self wielded in battle.* Before ANY of that, Terra says that he met Sora before, but, he and Sora NEVER properly met. The one Terra talked to was Riku, but Sora only noticed the presence of an unidentified figure on the Island. Truth be told, he only saw Terra's back. So they never really actually met. So, when DID that happen? $300 says: *The First game,* when Sora properly encountered, engaged, and defeated Ansem, Seeker of Darkness for the first time. THAT figure was using a familiar similar to the one his "Un-split" self controlled. But it was the same Familiar even after he split apart and became Ansem and Xemnas. Terra was made to be the puppet of a Faker, and fought against Sora on Ansem's behalf.
Only after playing Birth by Sleep I realized that I felt really, really sad facing Terra's Lingering Will. The way he knelt will always be iconic to me.

It's easy. 👌 Only thing I had to struggle with was equipping the right skills, I just never knew what any of them were since it's in Japanese. Surprisingly the voice in game was english tho
I heard it’s because Japanese fans prefer the English dub.
Agreed the Japanese Dub sounds weird @@allensao1210
After fighting yozora, the lingering will isn't that scary anymore.
Still a hard boss though.
LW is easy unless he does the stupid command lock thing
Hahaha you liar
@@KusanagiStudios101 No no joke, he is sorta easy most of the battle if you know his attack patterns. The only difficult part is his.ultimate move.
Sora: "How do you have all these laser blasters?"
LW: "Trust me bro I totally had this in my normal body."
Sora walks into the arena.
Lingering will: You wanna how to do a fucking infinite?!?

i remember when i beat this guy for the first time...... it was on critical mode which to me was very satisfying but yet funny at the same time as i never beat him on proud mode or any lower difficulty >.>
how is that even possible?? is critical mode easier or smt?
It's very possible. Many of us have played KH2 original so many times that we went straight for the crit experience in the remix versions. When the whole game's difficulty is this high you learn to play far more strategically and learn to be more reactive (well timed guards, reflect etc.). Lingering Will was a lot of trial and error for me on crit but very possible even if it's your first experience of him. You just apply all that crit mode taught you by virtue of reaching him :)
@@timmerman8844 critical is hardest
tim de wit with that additional abilities and 50 ap? Yes.
It was shortly after my aunt passed and I needed the distraction.. when I won I screamed out in joy and I’m pretty sure I let a few tears out .. never let anyone tell you this isn’t therapeutic
May your aunt rest in peace

Am I missing something? How does he have 9 bars of Drive if this is the first time he fights Lingering Will? The cutscenes from the first fight play and he gets the Bonus level from this fight, which means it is the first time LW is defeated.
In 2FM you get:
+1 from Barbossa fight
+1 from Hostile Program Fight
+1 from Sephiroth fight
+1 from Marluxia Absent Silhouette fight
+1 from Xemnas final boss
+1 from Lingering Will fight (first time only).
Because you start out at 3 bars of Drive, you should only have 8 at this point.
Cutscene was probably edited in.
I love this boss fight, I can tell it’s not critical mode but that doesn’t matter. This video is helping me find ways to live during the fight
idk why but I can hear words in those haunting sounds when he speaks.
NumbZkull they possibly took people speaking and edited it a lot to get the sounds. That's how they get the croaky horror sounds quite often
The worst part about this whole fight is that even in Cutscenes, Terra was never this good, nor has he ever been.
Umm yes he is, it’s just Terra was fighting Xehanort who is much more powerful than the average wielder.
@@aoto8897 in birth by sleep Terra was weak as fuck

There was only one damn thing that motivated me to continue fighting this thing and it was that Kick-Ass music
You know what it's my favorite thing about this video the fact that the guy who's fighting terra's armor is not a super god player at the game he's a normal guy fighting this and beating him it reminds me of me and my brother would fight him you know he's not a guy who is perfect and dodging every move or a guy who was just knows everything perfect to do it's just adorable to see someone who's would fight him and struggling like I would
This fight took me 42 tries and now I have PTSD whenever I see this suit
Only 42 tries! I must really suck at this game. But I really want the plat though and this is the only thing left. ☹️
And I’ve done it. 🎉
2 Whole Days.....
This is my kh experience: some friends told me Yozora is the most difficult boss in the entire kingdom hearts saga, more and more difficult than lingering will on kh2.
Fighting Yozora on re mind: 1 day and about 40/50 tries
Fighting Lingering will on kh 2.5: 3 weeks and 'bout 500/600 tries.
i had to use at least 12 megaelixirs to defeat lingering will
Why can't Terra just be a happy boy :((
Rotting Weenie It’s not really Terra anymore, just his thoughts and emotions.
Rotting Weenie ask Xehanort why he won’t leave him alone! He’d be fine if the old man would stop coming after him for his body.
Avallon it was meant to as a joke. But it might as well be the truth lol.

STOP FLYING
@@Cactuardude STOP F***ING FLYING BITCH WAA WAA WAA
The most threatening attack on this fight isn't about his multi hit moves but that cursed bow attack that locks your commands and it drains your Hp one miss with low hp means an instant death not even last chance can save you from that
Just like sephiroth's descending heartless angel attack which drains all of your mp and kills you instantly unless second chance is equipped
is that batman with a keyblade riding his new batmobile ?
No
Maybe he'll be a boss in Kingdom Hearts 3. A way to "free Terra's will" or something like that.
If Ven, Aqua and Terra show up that is and It would have to be made a bit easier if it is a story boss
TheDarkMarioAndSonic
Yeah I know the armour is empty, but that doesn't mean it can't be a Nobody.
Them Dolan heals.. are on fucking point. Literally had his MP back after 10 seconds then heals again. Surprise surprise.. he's not always useless.
Sephiroth compared to this fight looks like a freaking tutorial, And I can now say that firsthand
Lingering Will is basically the boss representation of
* Teleports behind you *
Nothing personal, kid.
Idk why but I think Terra's armor is pretty.
Donald...... I can’t believe he healed......
I can’t believe someone was smart enough to give him ethers.
Quickword15 damn u really came for my life like that huh
You know you can tailor your AIs combat strats and turn Donald into a dedicated white mage yeh
@@evilpoptropica 😂😂😂😂 I love your comeback to that.
I shocked that terra didn’t confuse sora with ventus considering that people keep call sora roxas and roxas looks exactly like ventus and not sora
This fight almost gave me PTSD, I literally cursed when I saw Terra use the armor in BBS and cheered when I could use it to beat Xehanort
How many times did you loose to him before you beat him? With me it was 30 times.
it still blows my mind every time i am reminded that it was supposed to be Riku all along.
Form change that was originally a shotlock command. Confusing transition 😂
Except they weren't goofy looking like sora's
Who's here after fighting "Dark Inferno" on kh3.
So disappointed of that fight

Me
Man he is tough especially on proud mode!!! Very very fun and challenging boss though I really love how he is a secret boss 👍👍
absolutely crazy that this was a thing before BBS even came out
The boss when you fight him vs the boss when he's playable
This fight on the hardest difficulty will make you rage soooooo hard but beating him is the MOST satisfying reward. This dude took me so many tries

Terra and Aqua are my favorites tbh
I thought the hardest was Sephiroth ... when i saw the cinematic ... i died

"Got you, Xehanort..."
"How I've waited, for this moment..."
The fact that Sora goes from this skill level to achieving the same level of Keyblade mastery as the Lingering Will by the time we’re into the KHIII part of the story is wild.
Sora is so overpowered in KHIII, it’s almost comical.
2:52 wait, thats illegal.
Before Artorius (DS1) and Gael (DS3), Terra was the 1st Armored Guts Inspired Boss Fight in not only the KH series, but in all of Video Game History.
1:31 Lingering will: "You thought sephiroth was tough? That's cute"
First TH-cam video of this fight that I ever saw had the music "Heroic Battle" from Digital Devil Saga 2 playing in the background instead of the actual in-game music. Now I can't watch this fight without hearing that track playing.
I had no idea this optional boss fight even existed

Mysterious Figure from BBS: that’s where you’re wrong kiddo
Mysterious Figure is harder.
This is the only battle that makes KH2FM so memorable. Oh, the music also, "Rage Awakened".
I tried to fight him on critical mode, that was a really stupid idea
Is it me or does Lingering Will here look like he’s 6’5 or something because *he’s towering over Sora.*
Sora is short. Like kairi is his height
He might be like 5ft 5”
Hard to believe this is on ps3, looks amazing
we just need a big family reunion with everyone joining in at the end to defeat Xen in KH3. Or Like Ventus, Aqua, And Terra in there own timeline fighting Xen, Same with Riku, Sora and Kairi fighting Xen in their own since he is able to be in different dimensions . That would be phenomenal.
Ya got your wish.
I like this video. Its an accurate demonstration of how the average gamer would get through this fight lmao
Terra is the kingdom hearts version of broly
so hes jiren?
now try not using fenrir
Not Pixer I beat him with kingdom key first try.
AI Seeker Yeah, but try with Kingdom Key on Critical Mode because Beginner would be too easy.
it's easier without fenrir.
Trevor Robinette why not lvl 1 critical with sweet memories
MischiefReaper no reason. You just loop him exactly the same way you would with any other keyblade, it just takes longer
I think we can now put some context behind some of Terra's words before the fight.
"I know you. We've met before, way back when. No, that wasn't you. You're not the one I chose."
KH3 reveals that Terra, distilled to a heart when his body was taken over, had been made into *The familiar his possessed self wielded in battle.*
Before ANY of that, Terra says that he met Sora before, but, he and Sora NEVER properly met.
Final form is insanely powerful, love it.
I spent all those hours learning fancy techniques when apparently I just needed to glide around, tank damage, and wish upon a star.
For some reason, hearing the song and/or gameplay makes me feel like i can take on something or someone in a game, it's weird.
The song is called Rage awakened so yeah makes sense to feel like that
Lingering Will: *speaks in Regirock*

WAIT,WAIT, WAIT ARE YOU USING *FENRIR* FOR THIS?!
Shift The Red Panda i used it it was easy af

KasLPKado oh hush
i did it on crit using decisive pumpkin the combo finishers while in limit form do 2 health bars of dmg its just soo damn good
