While nothing ever came of it to my knowledge, I was part of the brainstorming of a cool IRL tie-in to this vid. When I used to do concert security, we would have paramedics and off-duty cops on the payroll to cover the issues that come up when you have 1k-5k drunks in a small space. One of the cops was a local Lieutenant and we would talk about ways to improve emergency response times. What we came up with was essentially the 3 vehicles described here in 1 frame: The 1st Responder. It was envisioned to carry a Fire Department and Police Lieutenant and an RN grade Paramedic. The front end would be the "mobile HQ' with a radio setup that allowed easy cross-communication between emergency teams [this was around the 9/11 attacks and lack of communication was a big talking point in the news]. The center of this ~60'/20m truck [essentially a converted Semi or Fire Engine] would be the "coolant truck" and have first aid kits, fire extinguishers, PPE, swat gear, and fire hydrant hook ups for 1 hose. The back end would be the "MASH truck" and have the capability to double as either a detention cell or Triage center depending on needs. The purpose was not to replace Ambulances, Paddy Wagons or Fire Engines, instead to have a multi-role vehicle to get things started until specialists arrived, then co-ordinate afterwards. The hurdle was getting the departments to communicate in the first place. The only thing to come close was Fire, Police and Paramedics getting on the same radio system [just different channels to prevent cross-talk confusion].
Important thing to remember, soldiers win battles but wars are won by logistics. That support soldier driving the deuce and a half or five ton truck is just as important as the dude in a line company.. someone has to deliver the food, fuel, bullets etc . Not to leave out the evacuation of the wounded. Good video, important stuff.
@Tanner Downey The P-5000 Powered Work Loader has the added feature of being surprisingly effective in melee - at least until the operator gets impaled....
Logistics win wars. I really like the coolant trucks just because heat regulation is so critical for a battlemech. As soon as you start slowing down due to heat penalties you rapidly accumulate damage. Being able to put pressure on your opponent without having to periodically stop to dissipate heat sounds amazing.
In the 3025 technical readout there is a construction vehicle with excavation arms sticking out randomly. Thought for sure that silly thing be here. Also, Fasa hubcaps.
Love this aspect of the tabletop game which made for some great after game repairs and salvage along with med rolls for injured pilots. Hope one day they implement support vehicles into the video game versions to come. Thanks GrimDark Narrator for the excellent video. Good health and happy gaming :)

Thanks for sharing this :)
The MASH Truck is so useful that all are avoiding to attack it.
And even the Clans are respecting the doctors that are in the MASH trucks!
Solder March on there stomachs, Battlemechs March on there logistics
hmmm, pressurised liquid oxygen as coolant... might end up a bit explody for my liking

Glad you found it interesting.
I love utility vehicles in pretty much any universe, from the space semi truck of the Gozanti from star wars to the trucks of the battletech universe.
Ripley's forklift.

Probably gonna make another one on these vehicles in the future.
I love how GDN just keeps these videos truckin'! along!
Kinda my job.

Seeing the MASH vehicles sure brought back old memories.
Thanks for the vid & stay safe everyone.
Glad to hear that.
Nice back to Battletech. Thanks

Uhh I had an unfortunate encounter with such a vehicle as it was allowed use in one mission my Commando was wrecked by it

Have a good day!
Some of the most underrated vehicles in Battletech.
Ah, the joy's of chasing down HQ vehicles and supply trucks in Mech Commander. Some of the biggest pain in the rear missions in the whole series.
haha
try chasing/guarding a Mobile HQ in the table top game you'll be singing a different tune
Coolant Trucks.
*THE REAL HEROES OF BATTLETECH*
The unsung heroes.
awesome. I just got my hands on the vehicle annex TRO yesterday, what a well timed primer.
great news :D
The field recovery vehicles are neat.
Its sad that there isnt more of these vehicles and even more images.
ah the Mobile HQ I remember having to either chase them down or escort them across the table top never a fun time 😒
You should do a video with the Ordnance transport.
Ugh I hated having to escort those but blowing them up was fun 😏
Really enjoyed this, new subscriber 👍👍
Thank you. Welcome!
Howdy TH-cam algorithm.
Did you get a new microphone? You sound a bit different in this video.
Same old microphone. I recorded this one just a few weeks ago.
Often over looked
True.
