Siedah Garrett's "Do You Want It Right Now" is a song by from the 1985 film "Fast Forward." Also "Kiss of Life" was her debut solo album released in 1988. "K.I.S.S.I.N.G." and "Refuse to Be Loose" are her best known songs on this album. In 1996 she joined the "Brand New Heavies" collaborating with them on just one album.

I had no clue that she wrote or recorded this song, which apparently is from the Fast Forward soundtrack. The version I know and own is by Degrees of Motion (King Street Remix). It's 🔥 and the best version by far. This is mid/meh. Siedah also wrote and recorded the original version of Ever Changing Times for the movie Baby Boom, which I like, along with the Aretha/Michael McDonald remake.
@@EmpressReacts Yup and Siedah isn’t the only Madonna connection on the song. Both Jellybean Benitez and Stephen Bray were part of the production of “Do You Want It Right Now”. Also, the movie was directed by Sidney Poitier, which surprised me as a kid (“Fast Forward” is a “Fame”-like movie). ✌🏽
This is like 80's Hi0NRG/ Freestyle. It was a super popular style in the 80's. It's similar to Taylor Dayne's early stuff like "Tell It To My Heart" which had almost the exact same beat, but Siedah did a great vocal here. It's just not the kind of music she really wanted to do. She didn't release much solo music in the USA.
This just shows where production can totally change a song in just the slightest. Siedah is a massive talent and I love her voice, but this is my least favorite version of the 3 versions of this song that I've heard (who knows if there are more?!). Taylor Dayne's version two years later has a certain shine and sparkle on the production side of things and I always thought it should have been a single. But it didn't actually chart on the Hot 100 until the Degrees Of Motion cover circa 1994, and even then it was pretty low, it barely cracked the top 100. That version is good, but Taylor's is my favorite.
Wow! I don’t know anything about her besides the MJ duet. I love the instrumental on this more than the lyrics. Shes a great singer but it seem like she over singing tryna do more than what this (not very well written) song requires lol

Siedah Garrett! What a talent! There's a house music song by Armand Van Helden - I Want Your Soul. He used her vocals in it.
🧡
Fun Fact: Siedah was Niki's replacement on Madonna's 2004 "Reinvention Tour"
Wowh 😮 whut😮
She was also a backing vocalist on the album True Blue and Who's That Girl.

Oh wow 😮
Cool song definitely sounds like a song from a montage of an 80s movie. She sounds great. Leg warmers and tights music.
😂💯
this was on Taylor Dayne's debut album so check her version, Siedah has done fab dance tune with Freemasons called Rain Down Love
Taylor killed it on her cover version. 👑
Interesting ‼️

I’ve heard 4/10 songs
It’s interesting that Audrey Wheeler (#6) sings back up on “Do You Want It Right Now”.

I don’t blame her 😂
Sounds HI NRG to me!

😂😂I ain’t wanna say the lady was doing too much…but um thanks Duane 😂
This doesn't sound like the original version of the song, something is off. You would have been better off watching the music video version.
