Yes, as the daughter of a Veteran I never realized the demons my dad lived with by being in the military until he passed away. Its hard for them to really exist around people some of them. My parents were married for 56 years and after talking to other Veterans I realized how special woman mom was to understand his pain while showing him love, kindness and compassion ❤❤❤❤❤

Seals are trained to not let emotions get in the way of their decisions. But at the end of the way, he's human, so it makes sense if he thinks about that situation from time to time.

I’ll never forget when my dad came home from each tour. (5 tours all together) each time more broken, and each time better at hiding it. I was a teenager so back then I didn’t understand what was going on, my dad was just always gone and when he came back it took very little for him to become angry and lash out at us. Flipping the dinner table w/steaming hot dinner on it, waking us up in the middle of the night yelling at us to go underneath our beds, him on the roof w/his gun because a car back fired, my brother climbing in their bed when he had a bad dream and my dad choking him not realizing it was his son he had in his hands and when he noticed all he could is hand my brother to my mom ( I can only imagine his pain in that moment, the fear of who he’s become, thinking he’s a monster). I look back and remember all the things I did during that time as a teenager putting more stress on my dad going through something that would break the average person , something he couldn’t even speak on, a person he was hating he was becoming, I wish I could go back and see what my dad was really going through and be there a little more. I’ll never forget the day he told me my daughter saved his life. The day she was born he held her and he told me that was when he decided to go get help for his mental health because he wanted to be a light for my daughter he wanted to be the best grandpa and he knew he had to rid of all the anger, sadness and fear …. He chose love. Loving her was more important than anything. And that day I knew how much my dad loved me as well. I’m so thankful she brought my dad some peace,
