I’ve liked them all and the style and colors look good on you. I’m learning through you and can’t believe how natural they look. The last wig you trimmed yourself looks better than some haircuts I’ve paid $60 for! I would find someone comfortable with trimming synthetic wigs to get it to lay the way you want. You’re such a joy to watch ❤️
I enjoy your videos. That third one you showed that you trimmed yourself is a really pretty wig. It looks like it's worth taking to a hairdresser trained in trimming synthetic wigs and who can work with shaping to the curl pattern manufactured in the style. It just needs a good shaping, not thinning. Sometimes steam wrecks the fiber, wouldn't steam. The longer parts that stick up can be fixed by someone trained in it. They know how to shape without exposing the wefts, the material strips the hairs are sewn on. Looks like you're having fun with them; that's great!
Thank you Karen. Lots of good information. I too am new to wigs, so much to learn. I appreciate your honesty and sincerity. It was great to see the different wigs. Blessing to you too. New subscriber, will look forward to next video.
Karen, you are an inspiration, fun, and joyful, and brave. That wig suits you so well, even same colour as your eyebrows, thank you for the tutorial ,I guess the wigs are like clothes, we have our go to and our favourite ones, you wear what YOU like, I think the second customized one looks great too, I'm waiting for my Ist wig to arrive, I'm naturally copper ginger colour, but following diabetes diagnosis and sudden all over hair thinning, no amount of liquid biotin is working fast enough, I've gone for a darker mahogany colour with darker streaks, shoulder length, I'm just 61,and although I've warned my son who hadn't seen me since lockdown began, I'm anxious ,your third one (if it were mine) I'd trim the sides hold scissors pointing up the way and snip so they are shorter and more feathered. That's how I trim my fringe, or bangs. Love from Scotland, stay well, stay safe. Xx
Fionaclark1092 Clark -I get your nervousness. The more he knows how much you love it the more happy he will be for you. That’s possible, right. Thanks for your nice helpful suggestions. We are all experimenting. Have fun with it.
@@karenlipman79 that's just the picture of the one that my hubby ordered for me, it has not arrived yet, my son lives with his girlfriend, and it still had not arrived when he popped in to see us the other day. X
Hi Karen, love the shorter styles on you, they look so nice. I agree with you about the colours, particularly the last one, its really cute! Am enjoying your vlogs, best wishes from the U.K..... stay safe everyone x
Sometimes our family sees us in a 'box' when it comes to our hair and clothing styles. When we step out of that box, it may make them feel uncomfortable and then, all they want is for you to get back in that box. My advice, of couse to take or leave, is to wear what you love and give your family time to adjust. They love you! They may need time to process the new you. You may also have to give them cues on how to support you in your wig journey. You are adorable and sweet and you look good in all of your choices,
Janis, so true! My natural hair is curly. My mother was so upset to see me in a straight wig! She's finally given up trying to tell me what to wear after 12 years plus of wig wearing...lol...
Thank you, Karen, for your openness and empathy. I been wearing wigs, on and off, for the last 12 years. My hair has been getting progressively thinner over the years. Living in Australia, there aren't many wig shops so I buy online....usually one every six months. When time comes buy a new wig, I watch every review available on TH-cam in the particular style I'm thinking of! So far my favourite brand is Jon Renau, mainly because their quality is more consistent and they have a large range in the petite size. At the moment I'm wearing JR Gabrielle, which is my most favourite wig so far. Ellen Wille are also good...less hair, better for a small face and a lot of shorter styles. It is a whole new world, isn't it? Great advice, especially for beginners. Thanks.❤
Do you love wigs now? I do. After the first 6 months or so of learning curve I have been kind of wig obsessed. I sweat from my head and cannot convince myself to use a wig grip because I think it will make my head hotter. I might have to get one out and try it again. Love your wig reviews and cute nose so keep up the good work.
Lol - I've cut the length of wigs and had that same experience! The styles are pretty carefully planned and supported by the structure (permatease, etc.) You alter them too much and it redirects the balance of the fibers, I think. You get choppy pouf! Nothing wrong with experimenting, though. That's how we learn - I hope that wig wasn't too expensive :)
Kate, I find steaming really helps in that situation. If you're a long time wig wearer it's worth buying a wig steamer to get the wig to sit properly after a trim.
Thanks for all the information you share, you truely are an inspiration. I will have a play with my wig restyling it (not cutting just witht he fingers and the comb.) Maybe I will try to add a velvet layer to the scalp to make it more wearable.
They both look very pretty & natural on you! I love the blonder one on you. Nice for summer months. I like the last one the best but all look flattering. Nice choices.
These are cute - but, I like Toni’s highlighted ones on you better. And the salt and pepper colored one - too bad that one didn’t come in the bigger size.
Oh dear! I am a real chicken when it comes to my talents. This one is a bust I think. You might try headbands or combs perhaps. I am new to wigs and am afraid to even comb them! I haven’t worn one out yet even. You are a brave cookie!!
I just bought a synthetic wig from QVC and bought the wig band since it’s widely recommended. I wore the wig grocery shopping, since that’s about all to do under quarantine. The issue I had is the band doesn’t keep the wig on so by the time I returned home from the store, the wig was creeping up in the back. I have the correct size since I measured my head and purchased according to the manufacture. Any suggestions?
Ty for helping us..where should I buy a nice wig but not lots of $$$and i wanna knownif you order online for your first time how do you know its gonna look good on your shape of face?
grandma missy - very reasonable - and usually offer easy pay - small monthly payments if you have a credit card. I bought 4 from there - trendsetters - some are highlighted. Love them. In the plus size.
Karen, can I just mention a wig steamer really helps if a wig won't sit properly after a trim. You can buy them on most wig sites online. There are TH-cam demos how to steam a wig so it sits better.
Hi karen,i love your totorials.i have hardly any hair left.could you recommend a place to get a wig.i have a skin desiees that has affected my scalp causing hair loss.
grandma missy - I think TONI BRATTIN is the only one that offers plus size so it’s not so tight on the head. But, you can still adjust the tightness in the back. Check QVC and her videos - she demonstrates the different styles and colors.
I think the best thing to do if you feel a wig needs to be trimmed is for you to be wearing the wig when it is trimmed. If you can't do that with it on; have your stylist do it while you are wearing the wig. That way, it will be styled to your features. I personally would not trim a wig myself; I would ruin it. I am not good at trimming hair.
@@karenlipman79 no Karen I've not talked to the Dr. About it I may need to but going to go cut my hair off short. Like a pixey cut I love them ..I have about 5 wigs already ..but some are to hot to wear in summer months but my fave is a short wig with highlites really pretty .I love it ..it's brown with different highlights in it .more my color ..

Karen Stone Hi -I’m so glad that you posted. Love hearing what styles work and why. Thanks!

Linda p.p. Love you right back. I can’t live without my wig grip. Honest. Not hot.
Try Headliner wig liners. They wick away moisture. Check out reviews on Utube.
I love the color of your last wig.

Cathy Wright -I do really care. I’m so glad it comes though🐣 chicky-poo!
With the wings it kind of reminds me of the movie The Flying Nun. Might go outside and see if you can take off. So funny.
Ruth Ranieri -I loved that show!

Very Cute
Alopecia areata? How long have you had it? Are you still losing?
Alopecia wasn’t diagnosed until around 2015 but it began slowly in mid 2014. I had no clumps of hair lose just slow thinning out instead of patches.💗
yes-it is still thinning further.
That is really cute on you
Cathy Wright -Cathy, you are really kind.
How about washing it and putting it over a bowl and putting your head band over it till it dries?
Sharon Coble Hmmm. That might help.
