I went to high school in Falmouth. The first year William Knibb became a public high school. There is a ton of historic features in that area. I remember how the design of some of the buildings match those of old US cities like in New Hampshire. I used to look at the headstones in cemetery at the church in the square because of the old dates. I remember also that there were sugar mills built by slaves..one was on the William Knibb campus. Since Falmouth is such a historic town, would love to hear the history along with maps and artifacts.

Thank you so much for the great information about Jamaican History. It is very informative and eductional because lots of changes happen because of natural disasters and the Earth reshaping it self to survive.
Liguanea or New Kingston are the only places in Kington I stay when I visit. Strategically located, close proximity to everything and, above all, relatively safe.
You need to do one on the ports in Jamaica that were the main slave ports or importers of slaves , where and how they were dispersed through the island. That will open eyes .
Excellent. Thank you so much. I would like to know about the area known as Up Park Camp, its buildings and their use, especially during the 1940s and 1950s. Once more, thanks so much for a very interesting video.
Thank you Sir. Wonderful learning about the history. Very interesting after my holiday there in May. Big it up. Its a beautiful country throughout. I was treated with respect and friendliness in Kingston, irish town, Hope Bay and Port Antonio.❤
Elite official channel, wow that was a very interesting piece of that island 🏝 of Jamaica 🇯🇲 history, good job keep giving us more, just watching this from the United States
Love this , my dad was a part of the development of buildings in REMA , JUNGLE,he passed away at 90 😢omg I was still watching, my mom just mentioned this earthquake 😳
Thank you for your hard work I do love and appreciate all of this information many of such which was not taught in school, just since week I was inquiring why halfway tree is named as such and you have just revealed it to me thank you. Keep up the good work.
Yes Sir. you're doing a great job thanks for the updates on our history, most of theses things i didn't known, which book are you reading from i would like to have a copy of it.
Nice work alex excelent job jamaicans need to know their history. Just an aditional info sir william beeston is buried in the church yard of spanish town anglican cathedral in st catherine.
Rae Town. Was the first residential community in Kingston Note roads are numbered from east and south few roads do not follow that rule The squalor resulted in in great cholera epidemics in the 1850's where around 40000 died
St Andrew is the Patron saint of scotland. The death toll from the 1907 earthq was over 1300 and most of the bodies were placed in two mass Graves in May Pen.cemetary there is a memorial monument to the victims of the earthquake now outside the cemetery
Thank you..very interesting and informative. Many persons believe that Port Royals demise was because of all the sin and demonic forces. Let us continue to pray for Jamaica....land we love!
Great content💯 It seems as if the people with the financially vested interest in the development of this new town "KINGSTON" was not happy with the pace of transition to "KINGSTON" as the new preffered town and went back to burn what's left of the then "PORT ROYAL" so that the Kingston investment could take shape a multiply......Oh well just a though and a slip of the fingers.😇
It is painful that all the dates being mentioned here that Black people were not a part of any of those decision making! Indeed, up until 1838, our African brothers and sisters had been slaves and chattel in Jamaica! And after slavery ended, indentured workers from India and China were brought in to do the hard labour, thereby keeping the freed Black Jamaicans still desperately and frightfully impoverished!! Thank God for today!
The only thing I would be concerned about is when Jamaica parts ways with the British Monarch if all the names associated with these historical places will remain the same.
I wondered how many people knew that jacks hill was below sea level as flat as half way tree.the hill is the cause of waves, tidal waves washing up sands from the sea thousand and thousand of years ago that is why the front part of the hill is not good for building.

An error in your reporting The capital city of Kingston is not only confined to the parish of Kingston. It straddles both the parishes of Saint Andrew and Kingston. Most Jamaicans are easily confused by this, which is odd. This is why the KSAC were merged to form one city, two parishes...smh 🤦 Eg: like Atlanta which straddles both Fulton and Dekalb counties respectively to form one city...🤔

Hi Alex...did u know that Jones Town was first Jones Pen...and it was a farm !
I wish the tree at halfway tree had been preserved to remain now. One new tree should be planted. I would like a big special tree at hwt 🤪
I kept wondering why they didn't make a mural of half way tree park and posted it in that location with the tree.
@iotahutchinson1482 really think they should

Was thinking the same thing. He needs to elaborate more on the Era and to put into perspective that Port Royal's inhabitants were largely European.
Wait...a tsunami came to Jamaica? 😱
The only thing I would be concerned about is when Jamaica parts ways with the British Monarch if all the names associated with these historical places will remain the same.
