Manley was perhaps the strongest Caribbean leader of his time and I remain a strong supporter of what he stood for. It was perhaps by God's will that he didn't become another Maurice Bishop who also stood up to 1st world imperialism. He gave Jamaica the strength it needed and showed the rest of us Caribbean people that we can truly chart our own course. I am not a Jamaican but a West Indian/Caribbean so this gives me the right to honor this giant of Caribbean leadership.

I believe Michael Manley would have led Jamaica to a successful path, had the USA mind their own country's business, instead of destabilising Jamaica and any country that dared to choose their own path. The USA is EVIL and it will eventually fall.

I agree, even though at that time, most of US were blinded by the propaganda on radio and news, paper. We were unaware of apps like the CIA paying off corrupt leaders to destabilized from within , smuggled in weapons that created garrisons, sanctions that created food shortages, and inflation. Notwithstanding, Manley was not without his faults. He shouldn’t have never allowed diplomats to enter the country unchecked. It is said that they were mostly responsible for the influx of weapons. It is also said they were responsible for the attempted assassination, and even later responsible of Bob Marley. Having study the CIA, which by the way is basically British Intel west, and how they get down, I have to deemed these assertions as being credulous

She is another puppet to the US, hence why she's so outspoken for CARICOM and why she wants to run for the UN Secretary General in 2026. She's responsible as well as all those CARICOM puppets for allowing an illegal govt to be put in Haiti.

There was no hostility towards Jamaica in the Carter presidency because Jimmy Carter did stretch out an olive branch to Fidel Castro like many other Caribbean Islands who felt Cuba was their neighbor and they won't isolate it.
Its a wicked thing when ppl try to isolate (brothers/ people )who feel they have a bond from each other like this. Get mad for Caribbean leaders supporting each other?
Any Caribbean Island dare tell America not to associate with Israel? It would drop bombs on us like it did Japan?
CIAGA? That's how they did graffiti in his support on the street, how dare them do this?
America is wrong to do this. Would they like anyone to destabilize their country with such wicked games? Having their CIA terrorize old blind helpless ppl in the nursing homes by burning them alive? Well your own agent said this about you and isn't this wicked?

@@areid9813 Listen to this worm trying to diminish and smear greatness.
He has a good heart and a perfectly good brain. It is AMERICA who had wicked intentions and white supremacy run amuck. While they're destroying and oppressing Jamaica... KKK, Jim Crowism and good old ever present White Supremacy remained active within their own shores.
Haiti fought for and won their Independence in the 1800's (1804) to be exact...America was *pissed* !! They didn't take kindly to any Black Nation having the audacity of the concept of freedom (from slavery/bondage and degradation). And vowed that as long as Haiti exists.... They will make sure that Haiti never survives, let alone prosper.
YOU seems so steeped in this way of thinking that you apparently see nothing wrong with America in this.
In these presented excerpts...it is *blatant* and *heart rending* that America calculatedly and intentionally destroyed Jamaica... Solely to suit their warped EGO...
Why didn't America confront Russia? That is who they had beef with. In 1976 Jamaica was all of 13 going on 14 years old!!! *As an actual Independent COUNTRY/NATION!!!* A recent post slavery post colonial subject!!! What on God's green earth could be wrong with a national leader reaching for and aiming for the betterment/development and social advancement of the *infant/new born country?
The so called 'middle class' who packed up their things and ran to Amerikkka were an integral part of keeping a level of destitution/impoverishment and SLAVERY on the majority of the people of the nation. The subjugation and dispossession of the so called 'post slave' people was the 'house n*ggers' and the remnant slave masters and plantation overseers riches and source for them to enact 'white supremacy'.
If *I* need to show you that in all of what was just shown to us... Then g f y s. Even "autistic" people can grasp this...

I view this from a different lens. The Manley family felt abit crushed when Bustamante was chosen to be first prime minister for newly 'free' Jamaica...with Norman pushed to the side. Michael was groomed to reclaim that name by any means. To be written in history as something different and uniquely bonding with the people. Filled with charm and intelligence, he played the game if politics very well in that he knew how to articulate his ideas well and even knowing how yo evade skeptics. Unfortunately, this is why i hate the game of politics because they never suffer directly, the ppl do and often it takes an entire generation to see any ounce of repair. Both Manley and Seaga apparently were necessary for Jamaica's growth n development. People benefited greatly from their decisions and leadership. Many also suffered and are still suffering 5 decades later.
