Whenever my family goes to malaysia, I always look forward to these. Especially with how cheap they are. Definitely better than mcdonalds
Yes! I really liked the Ramly burgers, one of the best I've had.
Hey Wayne, go to Jalan Alor at night for a Ramy Burger. The best Ramy burger, the beef or chicken patties are wrapped in an egg omelette.
Jalan Alor vlog coming soon buddy 👍👍
Best thing at Jalan Alor are the Chinese Muslim beef/chicken steamed buns. Can't miss them.. right at the corner opposite the MRT station exit, there's usually a long line waiting to buy.
Welcome to Malaysia 😊😊😊
Thank you ! 🇲🇾
Very cool Wayne! I've been away from Malaysia so long I was not aware of the Ramlee burger and that had become such a Local Icon. Back when Ramlee was cooking up his burger in 84', finding a classic western style burger in Malaysia was next to impossible. I only found two places, with close to world class burgers, the Golden Sands and Rasa Sayang in Penang, beef was grass fed Aussie beef, so it was a bit too lean bit dry to qualify as a 'Juicy'.
I looked and found this mention of a P. Ramlee burger "The New P. Ramlee Burger Is Supposed To Taste Like Nasi Kandar..."
P. Ramlee and Nasi Kandar are two of my most loved Malaysian icons. P's films delightfully convey an innocent, dreamy Malaysian vibe and must see for any classic film buff. Nasi Kandar might be worth a try as well. Nasi Kandar is an Iconic Penang specialty, and P. Ramlee, is Malaysia's iconic film director and singer from the last century, who was also from Penang and loved across Asia. His Penang home is a museum and a must see. I did see a news news report claiming that the P. Ramlee burger is made from a deep-fried pork patty and many were not happy they named it after one of Malaysia's best known and loved personalities.
Btw Wayne, might you be doing Penang this trip?
Nice one Jack, that's a fair bit of Ramly info mate. I have plans after KL buddy, so all will be revealed in the vlogs.
Nice one Wayne, just watched your Malaysia videos so far, I loved Malaysia last year when I went! Have a good one :)
Cheers John, hope all is well buddy 👍
Will have to sample a Ramly Burger when I visit Malaysia. Thank you for the segment and sharing your opinion of it. It is what it is, apology not necessary. A real experience is always the best, a true picture of what travelers and tourists go through. Am sure everyone goes off track at least one time when touring in a new location/country.
Cheers Walt 👍
Malaysia looks so clean and new
The city centre is amazingly clean 👍
Ramly burger are everywhere in Malaysia, u can even find Ramly burger in small town, villages n even some tropical islands. Also👍for u for knowing the history of Ramly burger 🍔
Yes, took me a while to find one though 😂 Thank you
Most are unlicenced and illegal.
Hi Wayne .. Next must try Ramly Oblong Kawin (Mix beef & chicken ) Special Cheese with extra vege and Roti John ! You gonna love it ..
Mmmmm sounds good 👍
Don't stop with one try. Different stall will give you different taste somehow. The one at the end of Jalan Alor is quite a favorite among tourist.
I'll be trying many more 👍
There's a pub culture around Chinatown area at Petaling Street. You can have a few drinks and chill out when you need a break from vlogging, or maybe do a vlog on those quirky bars and pubs.
Not for me buddy 👍👍
The Ramly burger looked awesome. Hope that you have enjoyed the Malaysian street burger.
The Ramly was really nice. I'm addicted to the food in Malaysia.
@@WalkAboutWayne Haha. Lovely. 😁
Burger looked good 👌 - every review I’ve seen on a Ramly has been very good and the price is great - Happy days ✔️😃👍🙏
No complaints with the burger mate. Proper style burger. I can see why they're so famous. Happy Days mate.

Hello from - Nha Trang 🇻🇳
Oh hey! Wayne's HERE. 😁 I've just been away to Japan, myself... Be sure to have a Thosai Breakfast before you leave...
Nice one buddy, hope you had a good time in Japan.
@@WalkAboutWayne Did a lot of walking.. 😁 Sure was expensive compared to Chiang Mai..
Made me hungry for a burger. Over here we have a chain called 5 Guys.. good old fashion drippy, greasy roll down your arm burgers and the best Fries (Chips) served with vinegar if you like.
Mmmm that sounds good John. I could do with one of them % Guys burgers.
Remember me to find Ramly burger. Thank you. Happy travel mate. Cheers.
Thanks buddy 👍
@@WalkAboutWayne ✌🏻✨
It seems to be a bit busier today with some kamikaze motorcyclists and increased foot traffic . Enjoying your walkabout so good to see another different location . Thanks Mate. I’m curious what camera your using has good resolution at night .
Bit more crazy at night . I use a GoPro. Thanks buddy
One of the big complaints about Ramly Burgers is "too much sauce". You can always ask them to reduce the sauce though. It's also quite variable from vendor to vendor, some have options others don't. Egg-wrapped patties are one common option. Avoid the "oblong burger" - they weigh the same but they charge considerably more for them. You can also buy the patties at the supermarket. They cook nicely in an air fryer.
Yes, I seen the the packets in the supermarket. I seen one of the stalls using the packets also. This one was really nice but I'll be trying a different one in a upcoming vlog. Cheers mate.
Every stall got their different style.. try the more famous one and also try nasi lemak or nasi kerabu and satay
Yes, I'll be trying a few more stalls in the coming days.
Glade you found it Wayne this better be good 😊 Wayne Ramey burger 🍔 wow size of that wonder if someone makes them in Thailand 🇹🇭 come on Wayne how many out of ten yes I remember them burgers back in the day great vlog Wayne
Great burger mate! I would have to say they're better than the ones I had in Thailand.
At least our giy over there looks half way decent .. no chang t shirts in sight and no singing shorts neither....gotta like this guy. ...M said so...and spell WAYNES name in capitals too she A say!😊🎉❤
🤣🤣 No Chang shirt for me buddy.
Looks awesome mate I think you might need a bib
Yes, I think I do mate.
Hi Wayne I see you been island hopping, was wondering do you have any references to beaches in Thialand we will be staying in Chiang mai but the last time we flew over to Phuket, not for us we are older and we just want to see a nice clear clean beach, just don’t want to spend the hole day in the air a couple hours at the most, any reference would be truly grateful ,thank you
I've not really done the islands in Thailand Beverly. I normally stay mainland. I know Koh Chang is meant to be very chilled and Koh Lipe. I really liked Rayong too. Some great beaches down that way and not over run with tourists.
$1.50 for that burger? Amazing bargain.
All the street food in that part of the world is very inexpensive.
Good deal on the burger. So things can be a bit expensive in Malaysia ( when compared to Thailand). But still cheap.
Decent tucker that is Wayne 😋
Nice bit of grub mate.
Can't beat a decent Burgger eh, delicious
You can say that again 👍
KL is nice but I prefer Penang and even Ipoh. Love to see some video from Borneo ……
I would love to go to Borneo Malaysia.
Hey mate, another great video, but Wayne, I was wondering how you always travel around in Thailand and now in Kuala Lumpur and other countries, may I ask you what your monthly costs are? It all seems quite expensive to me, but I could be wrong of course thx again for an amazing video
so take it easy buddy
greetz Rick👌👍
It is very inexpensive to live in most areas of that part of the world, and travel between places is super cheap. Cost of rents and hotels are cheap. This is why so many vloggers are in that area.
How longs a piece of string mate. Every month is different, impossible to answer. As the comment above mentioned, SE Asia is relatively cheap which makes It doable. Vlogging doesn’t determine me being here though 👍
Have you tried a roti yet Wayne?
Eat them all the time mate
Other Asian countries are also good, such as China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, and Indonesia.
Nice, I didn't know Ramly was in other countries.
Consider doing.... 8+ days in Malaysia; 2+ days in Singapore; 2+ days in Indonesia; 4+ days in Philippines, 2+ days in Vietnam, 2+ days in Cambodia 2+ days in Loas, 2+ days in Thailand and the repeat the cycle again and again till you get tried of it
No thanks 👍
Sounds awfully stressful.
2 days in a country, are you joking.
He might if you're footing the bill. It doesn't grow on trees mate.
Maybe it's just me- but I find it too busy where you are now.
It can get busy but I’ve never thought it was to busy .
Hope you like the burger
Loved it !
@WalkAboutWayne one more ramly burger stall is called boss burger at jalan alor. Different stalls cook the patty differently with their own recipe.
@WalkAboutWayne our gourmet burgers are fantastic too. But the price is over the roof.
Yo at one pound 20 I would get five of the mofos 😅
I wish I had another one at least 👍
There's proper Malaysian food and then there's crap like Ramly. They're a bit like doner kebabs in the UK in that you'd only consider eating one if drunk and then feel dirty afterward. The beef content is only around 70% and of that it likely contains cows eyelids and bulls scrotums. None of it meets international health standards so is banned just 1km away in first world Singapore. The sauce masks the taste and smell and everything else the texture.
Mmmmm lovely , proper grub. Nothing wrong with a good eye lid burger or Kebab 👍.
@@WalkAboutWayne I forgot to mention foot and mouth.
@@byteme9718 I want another Ramly 🍔
@@WalkAboutWayne Go for it, I'll stick to the chicken feet. If you haven't tried yet you should do.
@@byteme9718 Sure, I eat Chicken feet burgers all the time.
IMO, it's not that good. Reason: too much condiments added on there. Sometimes, less is more.
I wanted more! Fully loaded is the way.
You look a bit unhappy in this video Wayne ... anything bothering you?
😂😂 unhappy?? Yes mate, I wish I got 2 burgers.
@@WalkAboutWayneGuess I was wrong then. Just felt a bit like it to me.
@@WalkAboutWaynenext time if u wanna eat dat burger again..just order two special burger..no cheese..trust me ..its enoigh..youre not too full or end up thinking it wasnt enough
