Here's a story behind. As they recorded their 'Children Of The World'-album, also Crosby, Stills & Nash were at Middle-Ear-Studios. They recorded just over the floor, using another room. They sometimes jammed together or visited each other, just to take a look, what's going on. And when the Bee Gees were on the mics with 'You Should Be Dancing', Steven Stills went over there, so he didn't really trust his ears, what's on the run. Dave Crosby and Graham Nash also stepped in. They joined the whole recording-session of that song. In the end, Steven Stills did some percussion on this track, to read in the original credits.

Andy appeared at the Oakland Arena Concert in early July. I was there in the 3rd row from the stage. They used scenes from that concert in their documentary. I was shocked when I saw myself in the crowd scenes.

I know this is an older video but I just wanna say that was one of the best reactions I've ever heard. The vast majority of reaction videos degrade to the "it's got a good beat and you can dance to it" response, or worse, try to interpret rock/disco lyrics, which 99% of the time were simply nonsensical or put there for their musical effect. Example, Donald Fagen of Steely Dan was asked "who is Peg?" Answer: "we needed a name that was a dotted quarter note long". Anyway well done.

Well if your headset is shaking......Then I'm doing my job correctly😆. Check out Sterling Electric Basses. They are created by the Ernie Ball company (The company that manufactures my favorite basses, Sting Rays). You may have to spend a bit more ($300-$500) but it's well worth it for the excellent quality and sound.

I know this is a late comment and unfortunately I don't see any current reactions. However, really liked 👍 your take on this song, historically and mechanically. Others reactions were more personal, and not really accurate because many don't research the group and the song they're reacting to. That being said, another track on Staying Alive not sung by the BG's was Disco Inferno by the Trammps. Maybe somewhat overshadowed by the BG's, this song definitely gives "You Could be Dancing," a run for their money.

Listen again.... The first of what sounds like a horn solo actually vocals - not horns. Their singing voices don’t sound like horns, their vocal horn imitation sounds like horns... they scat. Isolate the vocals and it’s obvious and awesome!
Just shows how amazing the brothers are. Those are techniques that a lot of A cappella groups are using to help recreate instrument sounds vocally. Truly amazing!!
