Sometimes it's a nice change to see K pop artists who play instruments instead of dancing. All four of them can sing. But Woosung and Dojoon have amazing vocals that compliment each other. If you're a first time listener I recommend She's in the rain and Beauty & the beast. Their MVs are really good but they sound amazing live.

They're not kpop.. they are Korean but they're an alternative rock band..
Actually, all 4 members can sing, but you will always see their main vocalist (Woosung) and Dojoon who sang second, always sing in most of their songs. then we have Hajoon on drums and Jaehyeong on bass. The Rose is a Korean indie rock band, B2M is part of their new era called DUAL name of their new album, so far they have two songs I recommend ALIVE which is part of the same album
And if you want a little more, the HEAL album has songs full of inspiration, improvement and healing. I also recommend SORRY his debut song in 2017

I actually went to one of their concerts before they were famous, under the old management. OMG, they were SO GOOD, you cannot put it in words. The concert hall was full. 99.9% of all the audience were young women, and a couple of guys (probably boyfriends) looked really lost, hehe. I called the concert "an ocean of estrogen". Woosung, the main soloist was feeding off the viewers' energy and as the night progressed, he was enjoying performing on the stage more and more. We had some tall and athletic security guards who were supposed to manage the crowd. After the first 30 minutes they stopped watching the crowd because it didn't look as if somebody would be doing anything remotely inappropriate, turned around and just started watching the performance. On their faces, you could see only one question, "Why? Why do these thousands of girls go crazy over these boyish looking guys? What is it about them?" At the end of one song, the girls just started screaming with excitement and didn't stop for the full 5 minutes, and it's a very long time. Woosung and the others started laughing. Woosung had to stop the audience because if they didn't, people would go on to scream for another 30 minutes or more. All the girls knew all the lyrics and were just singing along with the group. It was a magical evening, not only because of the Rose, but also because of the audience that they attract. You feel as if you are a part of something bigger than just you. I still remember it as if it was yesterday.
An incredible rock stars group ☺️ Alive last song is amazing too. Woosung is the singer on Snooze’s Suga song. As Suga their songs are deep and emotional. His story is amazing too. Enjoy them ☺️

The Rose is amazing, they don't have a single bad song. Also Woosung has a lot of great solo work from when the group was in transition. They went through a lot of hardship to be where they are today. I saw them in Seattle last November, and will be seeing them again this October. Their "Heal" album truly lives up to it's name. She's In The Rain, Red, Beauty & The Beast, Childhood, Alive are all great places to start. For Woosung's solo work, Come Down, Lazy, Modern Life are some of my favorites.
Just bought a ticket for WaMu yesterday! I'm excited they have graduated from the Showbox SoDo. 😅 Eric Nam is still at the Showbox, though. He's at nice venues in Portland and Vancouver. I don't know why he likes that dive. Sentimental?🤷🏻♀️😅 Epik High dominated it, though. They got the sound engineering absolutely perfect for that show. Did you go?

I am so glad you finally found The Rose! I have been listening to them for a few years now. When you learn the history of their struggles you will be even more impressed! They were robbed by their previous label and had to sue to get released from contract.
A condition of release was having to do one more song for the label. They could have just "phoned it in" with something garbage but instead gave those jerks a masterpiece of a song ("Beauty and the Beast"). You will love everything they do.
When you get to the song "Sorry" if possible you should react to the live version they did on the Wish 107.5 Bus. It's really great. I am not sure it's still possible for copyright, but I have seen a few reactions to that video..
I got interested in The Rose after listening to Woosungs vocals featuring on Yoongis song Snooze. His voice is so beautiful!! All the members are really great singers and musicians!!

The Rose is starting a new tour in the next month! Go see them! My fav songs- Sorry, Childhood, California. Woosung put solo albums out while the other band mates did their SK military time. Woosung was raised in Thousand Oaks, Ca and was exempt. Check out his work as well!
I can't thank Suga enough for getting more people to check out Woosung and The Rose. Seeing them live in October and I can't wait. I have loved them since before the members completed their military service and they don't have a bad song. They are also very funny, many have found them from Shorts and TicTok too

Excellent song in its own right and possibly the closest in feel to Woosung’s contribution to Yoongi’s ‘Snooze’.
I just recently discovered them via Woosung's being featured on Suga's song Snooze. Very underrated group and Woosung has a very distinctive voice. I've had them on replay ever since. And yes, both Woosung and Dojoon have awesome voices and sings so well together. Woojung also has some solo songs out as well. I think my favorite song of theirs is Sorry, but honestly they are all great.

The best part is that the singers aren't just ROCK singers... the Rose actually covers a diverse range of genres that you should check out. Beauty and the Beast is more of a ballad, while they also have pop songs and more.
If you end up liking them enough you should definitely go see them on tour! They will be in MN in October, I’ll be going to my first show then 😊

The rose ALIVE AND YPURE BEAUTIFUL
I dont usually recommend alot of artists to my friends unless i like alot of their music and The Rose is one of those bands. Love them.
The Rose is beyond amazing, they’re a combination of older rock and bands like Coldplay. The vibe they share is palpable and they write all of their songs. Recommend ballads like ILY, Sorry, She’s in the Rain, Beauty and the Beast. For more fun, upbeat songs I recommend Alive - newest single, Red, and Baby. Woosung has a voice that gets under your skin and makes you feel even when you don’t know the meaning because you don’t know the language. They are a breath of fresh air in the super loaded K-pop scene. 🌹🌹
I absolutely love this band!! They are top 3 for me. Their song Beauty and the Beast is such an amazing song and my favorite. Youll need to look up the lyrics as the MV doesnt have subtitles. Sour is another great english song and they just came out with their newest MV that directly follows this one called Alive. The first song my 4 (then 2) year old heard from the rose was California mainly because it was all English and he wasn’t as into K-pop as he is now. But even 2 years later if I play him a new song almost immediately after hearing the first line he goes “is this the people that sing California?” Or “this sounds like the California band” That’s how distinct his voice is. And I have to say my kid LOVES the sound of the rose.

Im an black rose ( the rose fandom name) since then .im happy that suga and woosung are friends because their genius when it comes in writng a songs. I am glad you have found The Rose. I saw them live last year and I am so in love with Woosung's voice and Dojoon is amazing. Dojoon not only sings, he plays guitar and keyboard. They are all amazing songwriters and musicians. Their last album Heal is a really introspective journey that goes deep into all of life's pains. It is a beautiful album. It is not as hard as this song. More soft rock, but their vocals are just so beautiful and the lyrics really hit hard. I cried a lot with that album. You can also try some of their older work like RED or SORRY.
You should check out more K-bands. For example, FT Island. They are incredible and have been in the industry for a long time and Lee Hongki - the main vocal - is one of the most treasured voices in Korea's music industry. Suggestions:

The Rose is a group of extraordinary artists. They have so many genres of music that they do so well that it's hard to find faults in their discography. Because it's hinted at during the ending clip, I'd recommend Alive next because it's the perfect marriage of rock and 80s pop and I loooove it. Prior to their most recent comeback that gave us Back to Me and Alive, though, I would have said that Red or Sorry were my faves. Also, that incredible first voice is Woosung, and he's got solo tracks that are incredible. I'd recommend Lazy and Phase Me. Glad you enjoyed them so much!

I found The Rose through Woosung on Agust D's Snooze and they are impressive. Super talented musicians. Their album Heal is absolutely amazing. And this song was the catalyst to my obsession with their music. I know you'll enjoy discovering them just as I do. 🌹
So glad you reacted to The Rose. Woosung (Sammy) has the most unique voice and he's very intriguing to watch perform, he has an X factor that you cant look away from. His solo work is great too, thats how i was introduced to The Rose. Please have a listen to "Alive", thats a new track too.
I was introduced to Woosung/The Rose by Suga's Snooze too. Now obsessed, they are SO fucking good! I'd call them indie rock. Their sound is really lush usually, but this one is a banger. Good ones for a first listen are their other new release Alive, Sour from last year's album "Heal", their debut song Sorry which really sets up their sound, and I like Red a LOT. For Woosung solo you should definitely check out Phase Me and Modern Life. The Rose have a hell of a story and should be way bigger than they are. Honestly they have no bad songs.
Oh I hope you do watch more. The Rose is amazing .. just like you I started looking into them after hearing Woosung on Snooze. The whole band is so so talented. Don't miss their cover of ILYSB (I love you so bad originally by LANY) .. its live on KBS and I'm not ashamed to say I've watched it at least 20 times.

OMG The Rose, I love them so much! I really get nostalgia listening to them. I definitely hear a mix of a lot of different influences in there depending what song you listen to, especially from earlier 2000s.
They had a new song come out called Alone which is great. Some of my other favorites are: Time, Definition of Ugly Is, She's in the Rain, Beauty and the Beast, Insomnia, Sorry, Red... so so many that I could keep going!
I fell for them the first time I heard Woosung's voice only to realize, they are all so amazing! They are so chaotic and just so much fun. I am fortunate enough that I was able to get tickets to their upcoming tour in the US/Canada in November.
Edit to add: because they aren't the biggest band, they won't have subs on all their Korean lyrics. They will on MV's and also on the Heal album (if you watch it from their YT channel) they have subs on the side of the screen to read along with. So you will have to bring up translations for everything else.

I subscribed 'cos you mentioned both BTS and The Rose in this video... I got into The Rose because Woosung's voice in Agust D's "Snooze" was just so haunting to me, I couldn't get it out of my head. I wanted to know more about him, then I started to explore The Rose and Woosung's solo stuff too... and it's been a whole other rabbithole for me. Woosung aka Sammy is the leader of The Rose, the 2nd singer/guitarist/keyboardist is Dojoon aka Leo, the bass guitarist is Jaehyeong aka Jeff, and the drummer is Hajoon aka Dylan. The 1st song I heard by them was probly "Back To Me", but it was "Alive" that really drew me in, then I also fell in love with "You're Beautiful" and "Yes" and "Sorry" and "Baby" and well... you get the idea. Woosung's cover of Lany's "ILYSB" is another song I love watching him perform, it's just so mesmerizing to me. I also loved "Face" and "Phase Me". Their new album is coming out soon... I can't wait to see more of The Rose and BTS with you.

I relate to you so much about not listening to new rock much and being stuck in the 90s and early 2000s. Maybe it's part of just getting older (I'm in my 30s) but new artists rarely make me turn my head. BTS is a big exception to that, and now I can add The Rose to that short list because I am absolutely obsessed with this song. Really felt your reaction to it; thanks for sharing.
I just discovered them recently with this song and love their music. I used to listen to a lot of J-Rock on the late 90s,early 20s. Glay and L'Arc-en-Ciel were my favorite bands. Have you heard of X-Japan? If you love metal you should like them. They are amazing!

Well I am very happy you discover the Rose. I’m an army with a long history with rock, like you, and honestly I’ve found kpop and two of their bands first, before even bts. The Rose being one of them, day6 the other. And it’s amazing to see you discover them !! Hi Bryan. Thank you for reacting to The Rose. I’m BTS Army, as you may know. When they announced their ‘hiatus’ last summer, I was heartbroken. That night I played The Rose’s HEAL album, which had just been recently released, on repeat 3 times. It was too painful for me to listen to any BTS songs at that moment. I found that HEAL lived up to its name. It brought me the comfort I needed at the time. I’ve been a fan ever since. I can’t call myself a Black Rose yet bc I still have a lot to learn about them. But I haven’t heard a song of theirs I haven’t loved. I recommend, as some others have, SORRY, SHES IN THE RAIN, RED, SOUR, ILYSB. Have fun checking them out 🤗💜🌹

For me, just for me, The Rose is the best thing to come out of South Korea, after BTS (music wise). All their songs are good. They are passionate and ambitious, yet humble and sincere to their fans. I’m sure others have listed their recommended songs. I’ll share mine too. Better to start with their debut song “Sorry”, it’s a slower song. “Beauty and the Beast” has a distinct guitar riff. “Sour” is also radio friendly. Personally, I like “She’s in the Rain” which starts off with acoustic guitar, and “Definition of Ugly is…” because of the lyrics. Enjoy!

i don't know a lot of the rose, but they have an amazing cover of the song ILYSB by lany that you should definitely check out! it's a different style than back to me, but it really shows off woosung's vocals and i think it's so so good. it's a live performance as well :)
Alive by the rose would have to be my second favourite from them besides this song.

You should also react to Henry Lau. He’s a music genius, he can play almost every instruments and he’s really good with live performances. Some suggestions: Faded (cover) live performance, Believer (cover) live performance, Youngblood, Moonlight…
I discovered them during the pandemic along with BTS! I personally don’t Stan The Rose but I would say I do LOVE a lot of their music, which is saying something since I am not the biggest rock fan.
They just released another song called Alive, a lot of the song is really good but as a whole it isn’t for me but it is cool to hear them…
Their Heal album is so good! I recommend listening to it in order!!
