The first singer is Dojoon and the second Woosung. Woosung has a super unique voice and is usually considered the lead singer. All the members are amazing and only grow more and more talented! It's especially fun to see their songwriting grow over time. Like I like most of their songs but they just keep getting better
Agust D is aka Suga of BTS. He is a rapper who featured Woosung on his incredible song "Snooze" it's a must watch MV.
I love that song!
Them mistaking Woosung for Dojoon goes to show just how amazing and strong Dojoon's vocals are. But Woosung's does have a special something.
I really feel like there is no lead and sub vocals in The Rose and this is exactly why.
This group is amazing live as well. They started out performing on the streets of Seoul but the lead singer Woosung is from Los Angeles so he speaks English and had to learn Korean when he moved to Seoul. I hope you check out their other stuff, they just performed at Coachella and KILLED IT!
One of the craziest conversations of my life happened at The Rose concert in Austin. Two ladies in their sixties were seated next to me and I asked if they were there with their daughters or grandchildren. One of the ladies said, "No. I discovered their album Heal in the hospital when I was suffering from COVID and I know the Angels sent them to heal me. Now I go to their concerts to praise the Lord for bringing them into my life." When the group started both women stood and held their hands in the air like you see in churches...and I can't lie the moment felt holy somehow and I don't even believe in God.
I couldn't disagree with them, whenever I feel sad, I put on Heal and I just feel better somehow. Maybe she's right and The Rose is our gift after surviving COVID.

I just discovered this band while checking clips of Coachella 2024 performances. Instantly captivated!! Now, I’ve been playing The Rose music nonstop since two weekends ago. Woosung’s voice is so unique. I’m just disappointed after I learned they completed their U.S. tour a few months ago. One of the stops was near me - I could have seen them live! Who k owns when they’ll be back. Drats!!

Snooze by Agust D ft Woosung from The Rose and Ryiuchi Sakamoto, is an amazing song you might like, also Woosung is the main vocal, but for this album, Dojoon took on a lot more of the vocals, the one who started the song was actually Dojoon, and in the second verse Woosung came in, all of their last album is in english as Woosung was raised in LA, you might want to check out Cure, Come back to Me (the live performance) Wonder or Time at Joshua Tree. Also the quick overview you read didn't mentioned this but actually everyone in The Rose can sing, Jaehyeong and Hajoon (bassist and drummer) take on some of the harmonies and backing vocals sometimes :) So happy you enjoyed this! I saw Woosung live when he opened for Epik High in Atlanta a few years ago. I didn't know who "The Rose" were at that time, but I remember thinking that he was so damn good! He also featured on a song called "Snooze" by Agust D (aka Suga of BTS) on his last album "D-Day".
You guys should listen to Back to Me by The Rose. One of my favorite bands of all time. I dragged my friends with me to see them Live last fall and now they are fans of The Rose (Black Roses) too.
They are so good!!! Definitely check their live performances too. „Sorry”, „Back to me” and „Snooze” are good recommendations.
Just an FYI this album has a ton of different genres with this one being very 80s inspired so it's worth checking out the other songs on the album: Back to Me, Wonder, etc.

They are great in concert! Saw them during their Dusk to dawn tour this spring. They have beautiful voices, songs, and lyrics. They are also funny people :). Very talented and have great potential! I heard all their released songs multiple times :). Fans are called Blackroses and they have an app called Rosarium.

My Favorite song from The Rose is "Come Back to Me". The Rose played Coachella this year. And got a nice launch to a larger audience/Army in form the lead singers feature on AgustD/Suga of BTS solo song, Snooze, from Last March. Also another indie Korean artist that got a boost from a BTS collab was So!YoON! and RM (BTS) in Spoke Sprite. It's very heavy synth, bass. 2005 in music and video. Very Jimmie Eat World but new.
Fabulous live band. Watched them in London last month. So cool!

I LOVE THEM! I'm glad I was able to see them live in Brazil, back in december, 2022. They have a lot of good songs that you guys can check out!
My introduction to The Rose was I.L.Y.S.B. and I have now seen them in concert two years in a row! They are amazing, their songs truly are healing.

The Rose are so good! I tuned into Coachella for Ateez but checked out their set too and it was 🔥 so really started listening to more from them now after realising how great they are live! They have some beautiful songs too like their debut one Sorry and She's in the rain 👌
Love The Rose! I don’t think I’ve heard anything from them that I don’t like, but why not go back to the beginning with Sorry? Woosung’s solo work (done while the others were doing mandatory military service) is cool in a different way.
These guys are absolutely amazing, and their live performances are so good. My best friend actually took me to see them (as my very first Korean concert!) back in October, and everything they played was just breathtaking. Most of it was from the Dual album (the one with this song), but they did some older songs also (including one of my favorites) and it was just such a great experience to be there and take it all in with my own eyes and ears. If they tour near you guys (they do concerts and festivals), it's totally worth checking them out (especially since they do all speak at least some English and will have breaks where they talk to the audience). Woosung has said that Dual is Dojoon's era. He really shines on this album, and it's beautiful.
On their names... I'm not a stickler for pronunciation by any means because English-native tongues can stumble (mine does) AND trying to spell names out with Latin letters (Romanization) is a very non-precise thing (to say the very least - all you can do is approximate based on the sound). But in case you're curious (I know I like to try to say them accurately)... I'm also giving their English names, which they do use on stage here in the States, even though I personally prefer native names for my artists (it's a me thing).
If anyone here has better Korean pronunciation than I do, please feel free to respond... I don't mind... I'm an American who is slowly learning Korean, not at all trying to be an expert!

-- Dojoon / Leo Park = 도준 = do-joon ('doe' + 'june'); vocals, keyboards, guitar
-- Hajoon / Dylan Lee = 하준 = ha-joon ('ha' like laughing + 'june'); drums, (sub)vocals, rap
-- Jaehyeong / Jeff Lee = 재형 - jae-hyeong ('jay' + basically 'hyung', rhymes with 'hung'); bass, (sub)vocals
Also, I'm not sure if anyone has explained it to you yet or not, but one reason K-pop offers so much variety is because K-pop is an industry - not a genre - so the groups and artists coming out of that industry can be quite different from each other (and of course you can get some that are quite similar, as well).
Wooo! Found you because of Stray Kids but also love other groups including The Rose! The first singer in the hat was actually Dojoon. The second singer was Woosung. He’s Korean-American. The Rose say that music is healing and that soul comes through their music. They are underrated. They used to be under a company but ended up leaving for their own. There are a few k-bands in kpop including Day 6 and the harder/edgier Xdinary Heroes (eg Freaking Bad) though XH have a couple of gorgeous and surprising ballads.

You should check out Day6! They are a Korean pop rock band. You Were Beautiful and I Wait are my two favorites of theirs, especially the live stages.
You can check the lollapalooza in Brazil where they performed, I think they were really free in that concert, so maybe you would like, I discovered them in that time and was a blast. I think live performances are more interesting sometimes, depending on the genre, like rock and indie rock/pop rock, you can really see the band and their energy on stage. I missed the opportunity to see them in Copenhagen this year, they did a concert there but I needed to come back to Brazil, I was like trully sad by that. Maybeee next time! Thank you again to notice them.

for More The Rose I would recommend "Back to Me" and "Wonder" I didn't pick up Maroon 5 like you did but these 2 songs I do associate with other Western rock bands vibes so I would be interested to see what your takes are
Xdinary Heroes are a younger Rock Band and I would recommend "Freakin' Bad" or "Break the Brake" for them (although they JUST dropped their first full Album - Troubleshooting - and the track "Little Things" is a great first Single from it)

I can't say anything that hasn't been said already. The rose is very underrated. Woosungs voice is incredibely unique and draws a lot of people in. BUt they are all great singers! Their music is amazing and they have stayed true to their own sound from the very beginning. I can telll you that their music is incredible live, maybe even better!! =D Definitely check out more of their songs =D

i dont get why ppl are offended when someone says "it reminds me or sounds like .."i think its natural to humans to make connections on their memory to familiar sounds so they can somehow categorized the sound they listen... its not a bad thing in my opinion but maybe i am wrong

I am also a BTS fan who loves The Rose. I discovered them when they were on pause as a group while three of the four completed their mandatory military service. They are a terrific group. Their Coachella performance last month was really good.

I can think of a LOT of things more rude than recommending another artist I like - starting with you going around policing what people can/should comment on reactors’ videos. I could have said The Rose is trash (they’re not in any way, but saying it would have been more rude). I could have said the reaction was trash (it also wasn’t at all, but saying THAT also would have been more rude). I could have said that Black Roses are trash (they’re not at all either, but saying it would have been more rude).

This is actually a B-side from their album! A lot of their songs are all in English, or mostly, like this one. Also, I'll be the first to say that this song, the main singer Woosung/Sammy is actually the 2nd one to sing. He grew up in LA.

Love this song, band and your reaction. I see others have suggested other songs that I would as well. Back to Me is a must watch/listen. Another group you could consider are TXT (Tomorrow x Together). They have some rock/pop songs that are excellent - 0x1=Lovesong; Good Boy Gone Bad; Loser Lover are a few.

That's awesome! BTS and The Rose!! You have great taste! The Rose by some is compared to BTS of K-rock LOL It's a great bane and Woosung has an incredible voice. Dojoon as well is an amazing vocalist! This is a very talented band. Back to Me is probably the most popular English song. Sorry is incredible mostly Korean. I much like a comment you read first saw Woosung in Suga of BTS song Snooze and his voice with the content of that song made me tear up. Since I have become a huge fan and been to The Rose concert. They're awesome!
