Umm, actually, it depends on which definition of planet you’re using. Many planetary scientists define it as a rounded astronomical body that’s not a star.
@@TheAmishEngineer Way back during the second ever episode there was a statement about _Return of the Jedi_ where the statement was that the Death Star's shield generator was on "the planet Endor" when *Um, Actually* it was on "the Forest Moon Of Endor." So saying it's a moon not a planet is at the very least consistent with a previous episode.

Uhm actually, while I don't believe the MCU explicitly states that The Grandmaster IS from Sakaar, we absolutely know he can't be from there in Marvel continuity proper by his definition as an original Elder of the Universe. The most accurate answer is probably either "Nobody knows" or "He was the last survivor of a 'test race' created by the Celestials just after the Big Bang before any stars or planets had really had time to form".

The best “The Power Was Within You All Along” I’ve ever seen is in the How To Train Your Dragon books, where Hiccup suddenly discovers he is a master sword fighter after being terrible at it until that point despite constant training… because he breaks his right arm at the start of the fight and learns for the first time that he is actually left handed
You thought it was the best? Damn, I thought it was stupid. Cause, you know, if you've trained sword fighting with one hand and suddenly try it with the other hand, you'll suck at it at first. Sure, you'd be able to actually start learning properly now that you're using your dominant hand, but you are still untrained.
As a Lefty, I'm somehow kinda mad at this! You would know *very* early on what your dominant hand is, and there's no way you wouldn't try the sword in the other hand ever in your life until then.😑
So, I seem to have accidentally commented on the wrong video 😅 This was supposed to be a reply to an Overly Sarcastic Productions video about powerups, and it looks like TH-cam took me to a recommended video while I was composing this response and I somehow didn’t notice lol.
This was mean to be a comment in response to discussion about how often powerups come out of nowhere without any in universe rational for why the character didn’t have the power before, and I specifically think it’s the best in that regard, in that it does give an in universe reason why he wasn’t good at it before: because the society he grew up in is extremely set in their ways and never thought to even consider handedness when teaching sword fighting. In that regard I think it’s actually a nice critique of how that would work: he was unaware of his handedness because he was forced to learn right handed and just assumed he was bad as sword fighting as a result.
That seems less like "the power was in you" and more like "you were just doing everything backwards"
@@KickyFut yeah back then there were heavy superstitions around being left handed so people 100% would not recognise it. The right hand was the sword hand and that's how people were taught. Many people pretented they were dominant in the other hand because depending on where you were born being left handed could have made you gifted by the gods or it could mean you were evil. It makes sense that hiccup wouldn't have known his dominant hand.

@@kumaradio5414 Yeah, Raphael canonically wins Soul Calibur 2, claims Soul Edge, and by the time Soul Calibur 3 rolls around he's been corrupted by Soul Edge and is now a vampire. So he's just Regular Fencing Guy for the first game he appears in (he didn't show up until Calibur 2) and in later appearances he's a vampire.

It should be noted that the "feelies" in those old computer games weren't just for fun or to save space. They served as copy protection against bootleggers. So even if you had the game, you would get locked out after a certain point because you NEEDED the items that came in the box.

There is actually a ttrpg system that does use scrabble tiles. It's called spell and you pull random letters to try and make words. Those words then become the magic spell you cast. Not really an um actually but I just want to share the system that let's you cast things like SUV at you, wondersously beefy, yeet, sex dragon, and bee misuse

Um Actually... In 2e, when Tieflings first appeared, they were NOT part fiend. Instead, they were just mortals who were "planetouched", meaning that over their lives growing up travelling the Outer Planes, they were warped by the alternate magics and philosophies, and had "something" that made them odd - strange skin tone, a whiff of brimstone, a tail, goat leags, or what have you. Genetically they were still human or elf or what have you, just... altered.
um, actually...plane-touched meant that they were descendants of a mortal and some planar being. fiend wasn't necessarily specified yet, but they were very definitely not genetically pure humans or elves or what have you.

@@chriswright8114 I suspect both the origin you describe and the one Valandar describes could be valid, because I doubt they explained it in enough detail to strictly rule out one or the other.
That said, I’m happy to be corrected if there’s specific evidence for one. I started in the 4e era.
I’ll add my own um actually correction though, because as of the current 5e lore, tieflings can be the result of any fiend bloodline, not just devils, though the vast majority (in both lore and in play, because the player’s handbook tiefling is one such) come from not just devils, but specifically Asmodeus’s bloodline.
If tiefling lore interests you though, I highly recommend the series of novels Brimstone Angels, by Erin M Evans. They go into great detail about the origin of tieflings and how/why they changed between 3.5 and 4e.
@@JimCullen um, actually if I remember correctly; in 5e you can be a tiefling simply by having some dealings with a fiend in your families past. No actual descendancy needed, just made a deal with the devil and now you're making devil babies.

Um Actually, Cloud Strife IS Cloud Strife, he just unknowingly took some elements of Zack Fair's time while he was in SOLDIER, due to mental trauma and experimentation by Hojo, but never to an extent where he adopted a whole new name or identity. The only element that could be debated was during Sephiroth's attack of Nibelheim because Tifa knew some flaws in his story (like Zack being the SOLDIER First Class who accompanied Sephiroth to town)

12:46 Um, _actually_ Pandora is not a planet - it's one of the moons of the gas giant Polyphemus (the huge planet visible in basically every scene in the movie with any sky in it). So if the question is 'what _planet_ is Neytiri from', the answer is either 'Polyphemus' or 'none'.

Many years ago, a friend of mine adapted the "Dread" Jenga mechanic into our game of the Lovecraftian RPG "Delta Green" as the madness mechanic. Anytime something "horrific" happened, we had to move a block. But he also placed the tower across the room, so not only did you have to do the block move, you had to walk to and from across the wobbliest floorboards you have ever encountered.
Having the fine motor control of a long-time guitarist REALLY paid off that day. My character was able to take an astounding amount of things in stride.
I'm just curious about the wobbly floorboards... Were you playing in an abandoned Louisiana shack?😕😅

While it is true that the country for the citizenship was never stated the age requirements were clearly using US requirements (Which to be fair aren't exclusive to the US). Finland for example is 5 years regardless of age, or Canada which is weird and actually gives you options (you can get a 5 year passport for cheaper. It's not half as cheap, so most don't get it, but it's still an option).
Because of this I think that part of the question validates that the passport can't be referring to EU passports.

Um, actually, En Dwi Gast The Grandmaster in the MCU is not from Sakaar he's just the ruler there & he was stranded there like all the others living there. He was born shortly after the beginning of the universe long before Sakaar was even formed as a planet. He's the brother of Taneleer Tivan aka The Collector. They are members of the Elders of the Universe.

They did the same trick even earlier with Star Tropics. I think in that case, it was a letter, and I think it had to be dipped in water to reveal an invisible password. I remember I was playing it with a friend, who had to go back to his house to get the game's box.

They were right that you don't need a passport to travel internationally to every country. You can use an enhanced driver's license in place of a passport when traveling to going into Canada, but I think also Mexico as well. At least that's the case for a lot of the border states.
and even though i get why they did not talk about it as it is a us show, EU citizens don't need a passport to travel inside of the EU. AS long as you can identify yourself, like with your drivers license, you are free to travel in EU countries :D
That thing with the code on the back of the case was an attempt of antipiracy info given to you on the outside of the game that is required to progress at some point.
The NES game StarTropics came with a letter from your character's uncle, who has gone missing. At first glance it's just a lead into the plot of the game, but 4 chapters in you are asked to wet the letter to find a code writen in invisible ink to progress. Unfortunately it seems the switch port of the game didn't include the letter, oops.
…no wonder I could never finish my mom’s copy of that dang game. I mean, I was also just that bad at at NES games lol.
Um actually cloud strife never takes on a new name just a new persona, crafted from the memories of Zack and what jenova feels that a personality as a soldier 1st class was and a generous amount of his own cells. Cloud never actually took on a different name he was always cloud meant to be a pair that differs from Zack Fair

Um actually, the Grandmaster isn't _from_ Sakaar; he predates the existence of Sakaar and is of one of the earliest races to exist in the universe, with no known planet of origin. He got stranded on Sakaar (in the MCU) and managed to become its dictator, and is even known as 'the creator of Sakaar' in the movie.

Um, actually, tieflings are the descendants of humans and *any* type of Fiend, from any of the Lower Planes (including having entire tables of randomized fiendish trait based on which type of fiendish ancestry you might have). Tieflings being descended from people who made a pact with an archdevil is 4e-exclusive lore, which was removed again in the most recent edition (although it was kept as an optional background for particular subgroups of tieflings).

Um, Actually, Soul Edge had to be renamed Soul Blade due to a lawsuit from the Gaming Magazine Edge.
Only the english language console edition was renamed.
I'm at 13:30 at this point and I think Mercer has caught on that his internet is slightly better than everyone else's. I don't think he suddenly forgot the answer to the Avatar question; I think he refused to answer it for fairness reasons.
Like how he refused to answer the Dread question until after everyone else had tried.
The buzzer system really is kinda dumb for this show. Even on Jeopardy, I've often thought they should just do a rotation through everyone who buzzes in within a second of each other. It's worse here where there's not even a penalty for a foolhardy buzz, so everyone is just buzzing all the time and fastest/least laggy always has the edge...
I say I'm a nerd then I watch channels like this and realize that, no, I am in fact not a nerd and just latch onto specific things and obsess over them until I move onto the next thing a year or so later
Um, actually: along the line of the pages thing, some countries also won't let you enter if it's too close to your passport's expiry date! We did a tour in Europe and a member of our group got stranded in the UK because they wouldn't let her board her connecting flight because her passport was expiring within 6 months (even though we were only in Europe for 2 weeks). It was a nightmare~ lol

Um actually, Cloud didn't take Zack's identity, he somehow had Zack's memories and had them conflated with his own. He was Cloud, he did grow up with Tifa, he just never made SOLDIER, and Shepard Book never delved into his history so nobody knows his backstory but him and he took it to his grave in Serenity
Just finished a an international trip from the the USA to the Bahamas a couple of weeks ago. I was worried that the trip would be need to be canceled because I could not get a new passport in time. An original or certified copy of my birth certificate was all that was required. (PS all that was required for re-entry, I entered the Bahamas with no documentation)

Um actually, he was right in the real life skills question. You can drive to Canada and Mexico without a passport if you have an enhanced drivers license.
Um actually, you can still legally go to Canada with a drivers license if you’re traveling via water or land and have an enhanced license that states that you’re a U.S. citizen. Since you can’t turn around if you take the exit to Canada (since it’s a bridge), people who live in the nearby towns in Michigan can apply for and are more often granted an enhanced license so they don’t have any issues if a mistake happens and don’t have to carry their passport constantly. One of my friends has an enhanced license because of this

@@Vaishino was this episode on the schedule as of New Year's Day, let's say, to come out today? Or was it switched or added in response to this week's goings-on? Either way, it's another good episode and it's good for Mercer, who's good for the community (e.g. see Stars&Gears comment), so it's good in the sense of mutual support. I mean, it's not an episode with a WotC executive in the contestant's seat (alone versus Trapp, failing to know any of the answers or understand the game, and leaving us disappointed, perhaps we can imagine). But this going up now is nonetheless feeding the fire, intentionally or not ... so yeah, I think we're all on the same side here.

Man, looking over some articles, not only does Aquaman not really talk to fish, since they don't apparently have that capacity, but his application seems to be anything that is semi aquatic, sometimes to a point he can even affect humans because technically we have ancient sea dwelling ancestors and atavism would apply. It's always a bit flimsy, but he can freaking spy on you if you have fish nearby, pretty cool application there

You can get additional pages inserted (or at least you used to be able to). It required a lot of paperwork and you had to have specific reasons for it. For instance, my uncle had to travel a lot for geological related trips and had a bunch of inserts in his passport (probably about 80 pages or so in total) and routinely got questioned as to whether his passport was real due to the odd size.

I would say the most fun “gimmick that came with the game” I remember is the Braille table that came with Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire. You needed it to decode the messages in the caves that were puzzles leading to Regirock, Regice and Registeel
I would also argue they aren’t valid for 10 years, because they won’t let you fly within 3 to 6 months if they expiration date. My family has run into that a few times.
Aquaman's power set is more defined as a limited telepathy. It isn't as advanced as J'onn J'onnz, but he can communicate with some other life forms on occasion. I'm pretty sure there's no divide between freshwater or seawater fish as far as his telepathy is concerned.
I absolutely love Dread for running a pick-up game at cons. Used to bring a folder of pre-made character sheets and a tower with me to DragonCon and various anime cons. Can't play the game myself but being the Storyteller was more than enough fun for me.

The incorrect statement about the Condiment King was one of my favorite questions in recent memory. Most other questions are just, "Do you know this nerdy trivia?" but dressed up in the 'Um actually,' paint. Which is fine! But most actual fans who would speak confidently about such topics usually wouldn't get those details wrong.

Um Actually, You misspelled Tanar'ri and tieflings when first introduced were humans who had ancestory of any lower planar creature. Fey'ri and tanarukks are not half Tanar'ri either. Fey'ri are the descendants of a house of Sun Elves that interbred with demons. So the first of the Daemonfey were elf cambions (2e term for half fiend), the Fey'ri as a whole are watered down demon ancestory.
There is also a system called "together amongst the stars" that uses a deck of cards to tell their story

These episodes are old ones from dropout. If I'm thinking correctly then they are back to the studio currently it's just that that content is behind a paywall.
