    I've installed both. They are both a great product! Been working with NT products for years.

    We went to the parade of homes here in Colorado Springs. A 3 million dollar home had Anderson 100 windows. They seem to dominate the market here, are seen as a very good value. If they were failing below 40 degrees, it would be a major story here. How about comparing casements, both brand to brand and overall, which also seem to be preferred here in new homes?

      I've been in Andersen customer service for over a decade. I've never encountered the issue he mentioned but what he appeared to be referencing is screwing into the product insinuating this happens during installation (and is probably very rare). The fibrex almost never splinters in a normal in-home situation because there is no reason to ever drill anything.

      He was talking about issues installing the window in cold weather and over tightening screws, not the window failing in cold weather.

    Jeff do you any thoughts on the Soft-Lite classic plus window

      I'm not sure how the window performs today. I know that many years ago it was a terrific window. Unfortunately, they got bought out by one of the big venture Capital groups that's buying up a ton of window companies. It seems like everything that they touch goes south. I would do my research and some due diligence before making a decision.

      @@HoustonWindowExperts Thank you. Does that apply to all the soft lite product lines?

      @GaryP-u4c yes, in my opinion.

    From the NT web site it appears that the Executive is their mid tier windows and the Andersen 100 is their bottom tier window. I would be interested int a price and warranty comparison of the two windows.
    I do like that NT has Aluminum windows. I've had aluminum windows most of my life and they seem to be much more sturdy that the various plastics used in windows these days.

    Had someone quote me for Anlin windows (I’m in SoCal so heat is my main concern- we looked at the Low-E G340) and when I got a quote from Renewal by Anderson, he called Anlin “bottom of the barrel Walmart quality windows” that I “would need to replace in 7 years tops”. What???

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What a clown! Andersen Fibrex is 40% wood and 60% vinyl. I'd avoid them completely. Anlin uses the same exact glass manufacturer as Andersen does too.

    Hey Jeff, Your recommended window company in my area (Zen windows) has great reviews but they use soft lite brand windows of Ohio which has less than stellar reviews. What is your opinion of this brand? Thanks.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Softlite is a very good product. The reviews are possibly due to bad dealers.
