Seren Matthews when you fall did you get back on? Even for a few seconds. I know its hard to do it but if you dont get back on after you fall you will lose your confidence. But if you fall and just get back on for a few seconds you will safe your confidence

Luckily my friends are amazing and made me canter on a different horse. I’m so lucky to have them. I also didn’t go faster than a walk bareback for like 3 weeks

@@cybertronicgamer9589 you don't have to be fit really is mean it probably easier but you spend about 10 mins studying the jump for the best take off points and how many strides between each jump (well I do anyway)😀
They also put flags or something similar on each fence all around the course that are all the same color, so that riders have a way to know where the course goes, and which fences they are supposed to jump. Riders set timers to go off at various intervals to give them an idea of where they are, know where they should be, which helps them with determine their speed on course, which fences they jump, etc...They definitely take the time to know the course they're supposed to ride, but it can still be confusing at times, I'm sure.
I love the way you said to him don’t spook at that even if he doesn’t understand, instead of pulling or kicking him you talked to him, and guess what he was a good boy. Soooo, many people think that in order to get a horse to listen you have to be forceful but you don’t. His ears were forward the entire time, that is because you let him do his job and only interfered when you really needed to and you used your voice, not 100 pounds of pressure on his mouth. you are a great horse woman and a bright light in the eventing community
I don't consider people who don't talk to their horse equestrians. Like, if you are an equestrian than you better work with your horse, not against them.
I ride horses so much that when I’m with them it dosent even feel like work it is just happiness and I’m sure that is what others think with there horses as well

I do hunters with my pony. If I ever did eventing with her 1) She would spook at everything. 2) She'd see a jump and be like "OH MY GOD! DO YOU REALLY THINK I CAN JUMP THAT? its so scary!" 3) She'd stop in the middle of a course and start eating the grass. not to mention.. I would be slightly terrified too

It would be cold water. After a xc run the legs need to be cooled immediately to prevent inflammation etc, and the body hosed and scraped to allow the horse to cool. Even with the cold weather that day they still need to cold hose after a run, the horse would be cared for and kept warm after.
I don't know about event horses (but I would assume it's similar), the racetracks use warm water. That way the drastic temperature change of the water doesn't shock the horse's system (ex: dropping the horse's temp down too quickly can cause immune system and/or respiratory issues).
Pony Cam no we are not in lock down. Florida has opened up and our competitions have started back again. However, there are specific guidelines that we all have to follow, wearing masks, social distancing etc.
