Pyrion and Lewis were absolute mavericks here; the bar fight (the gasp sound effect was great!) was one of my favorite bits. Ben’s smarmy communist voice was hilarious and shows incredible range. This is my first time seeing and hearing Briony, and she’s a great addition! I love her voice and jokes! Please get her in more CoC games.
Thanks again for the work Tom and backstage MQ crew!
Briony was great in Honey in the Rafters, you should check that one out :) one of my favourite mystery quests!
@@serenityindeed I haven’t seen much of the non-CoC plays so I’ll do that now
Love Communist Ben, love Wildcard Lewis 😂
Love Wildcard Lewis's exasperation at Communist Ben's latest monologue at 32:30 lol
@@kaelananderson9237 I mean Lewis is famously a Tory so of course he would hate communists.
Had a long shift last night, fell asleep listening to this glorious nonsense! Had some strange dreams I can't fully remember... ...must be the juice!
*This is a comment, for the Angorythm.*
This has been one of my go to youtube channels ever since it first started. I've always been a massive fan of all the table top rpg yogscast adventures and having a place for only that is awesome. I've thoroughly enjoyed every series here but I have to say that call of cthulhu sessions are easily some of my favourite. I could watch these all day every day (I have rewatched more than half of the series here and I'm not afraid to admit that).
I love Ben's character so much.
Smokey tendrils all over your body as you walk towards the light…
Can I still smoke my cigarette?
😂😂
I think these guys are over reacting. The Juice has never been associated with anything bad. I say "Don't have a fit, the juice is a hit!" and has a rhyme ever been wrong? I didn't think so.
I mean, it has a catchy song, so how can it be bad?
Only a goose, don't trust the juice
"How bad- can it be, I'm just drinking what sound best to me. How bad could it possibly be"
I am loving these, been following the Yogs for over a decade and used to love the old games night TTRPG vids, glad you're doing this Tom!!!!!
Seems Ben decided to turn this into a Disco Elysium playthrough
I consider this excellent news
He's even named Raphael, it's peak
I love the liberal use of jazz music for this series! Amazing how much it adds to the game.
Also everyone is amazing in this game! Love their voice work and antics ❤
Shout out to the sounds/music in this series. Absolutely superb!
I can't wait to see how insane Lewis plays this session 😂😂
I love Ben's character begging the others to kill him. 'We're a union'.
Excellent, been liking this mini-series!
If possible, can we have the intros back, I quite like those?! 😁😁
Don’t worry. On a community post they said it was because Tom is out of town or something. (I don’t see why that would change anything…) but the main thing is it’s not meant to be a permanent change! 😊
@@cboneperlstone9661 I presume the actual episode is prerecorded a while ago and then the intros are made when the videos are edited.
@@darkpixel1128 Well sure, but it is a little odd. It's not like if Tom goes to Japan he loses all ability to communicate with anybody back home. That said I'm sure it's just quality/comfort issues. The man's entitled to a vacation without worrying about all of that stuff.
Didn't expect to hear a reference to Lockpicking Lawyer on this channel. 😀
Once again, props to whoever pulled together the sound effects & music here - massively enhanced this experience!
The channel is getting better and better as time goes by. Amazing episode
Wow that finale really went true cthulu madness with characters trying to kill themselves and each other, quite appropriate!
I love the new background sounds
The great sacrifice! love it good plays by everyone especially Pyrion
Though I've never had a set of tools to be able to practice real locking. The slow process of fiddling to achieve your freedom is quite an interesting concept that I've always enjoyed. 😂
Wow! Wasn't expecting a short series. Bravo! Top tier as always.
Did you ever think about inviting The Longest Johns (or just one of em) for a pirate/naval round?
Like congrats, you found yourself a Bard? ;)
i genuinely almost started crying at the end aaaa this was amazing!!
Honestly more of them survived than I thought lol.
Absolutely loved this playthrough, especially how committed pyrion was. Top tier stuff
Loved this adventure, great job by everyone involved
Second Tom & Ben show this week, that so nice.
This is my favorite channel, and one of my favorite Mystery Quests yet!
It's a good thing these character sheets aren't for sell. I could easily see myself buying pyrions character just to see what he was doidling
This has 100% been my favorite playthrough to watch :D
Didn't think it would end so soon, but I absolutely loved it! I did not expect the sudden sacrifice play by Pyrion, but without it the team would've lost, I love it when someone is willing to sacrifice themselves for a shot at victory over the Mythos. I hope we get to see communist Ben again, he was hilarious.
You walk into your morning class groggy from the night before. You greet your class mates and friends. Slowly waking up from the previous night and whatever shenanigans you got up to. You're in a good mood since it's about to be the weekend. Stumbling to your seat in class you struggle to remember something...hmm. The readings! You forgot to do your readings! Hopefully the professor won't call on you. As class begins the professor gleefully begins to look towards you, "Are you ready for your presentation? You're going first, remember?" You freeze. That's what it was, no reading at all, but a presentation. You get up to give what some kind of talk to your class, will you remember in the nick of time? Or are you on a mystery quest?!
What a brilliant series.
Another super exciting CoC adventure! Big bugs big fun
Can we have some more mystery quest with Briony please
Bravo! Lots of fun to watch/listen with such a great cast. Please more of Cthulhu! lol lots of love.
Absolutely loved this series, favorite one yet!
briony for the win!!!!!! ? this was another great series, glad pyrion made it over for another round of mystery! as always, i love how everyone gets absorbed into their characters... cant wait for the next series!!!
Call of Cthulhu is always a great time! Nicely done
THIS SERIES IS AWESOME MORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
This is great. The 2 videos beforehand made me organise a CoC session and were running fish in a barrel too! Be fun too see how my friends end up.
After reading the material, its great to see how Tom still guides the game so well even when the players go completely unexpectedly wild.
Gotta love a good CoC session with friends.
I love Lewis somehow always playing a Barbarian, despite the ttrpg being call of cthulhu.
The Lock Wizard
You should play Monster Hearts, so Ravs and Harry can get extra raunchy
Fantastic game, everybody did great, love how all things got crazy.
loved this, I do have to admit I listen to the podcast version to sleep usually so I have to come back to the videos to finish them because I usually fall before the ends. but that is always a pleasure because that means I have tom to sooth me to sleep and to scare me more awake when I'm fully invested away from doing work hahaha. also I hope when I move to the members vid I can see flaxes scetch he was doodling away at
22:20 the communist turning on a dime when his property is threatened was A+ comedy
How most communists in America are, Ben played that brilliantly.
@@TheSilverOrn How communists are*, fixed that for ya bud
@@BattleBro77 One day in like 500 years we will be able to have true communism like Star Trek, but that will be because robots deal with everything bad and humans just spend time learning how to cook, do science, or other fun things for the betterment of human life.
@@BattleBro77 Go out and actually meet some, rather than just regurgitating propaganda.
@@BattleBro77all of the yogs would hate you
Great session! I think that was my favorite so far!
Relatively calm infiltration
Nobody:
Pyrion: i drive a truck into the building
Stakes immediately raised with no gain 😩
Man how are these videos so long yet so short
In a way, PFlax's character had the best ending. A musician that wrote a hit song that defined his time then died the same night? Nobody is forgetting that.
Cant wait for Pyrion to turn into a juice-hulk
Fabulous ending! Absolutely clutch from Briony there, I'm surprised none of the players asked if they recognised the cultists because I wouldn't be shocked if they were also people at the very top of their respective fields, and who was this mysterious head woman?? Loved this series though, thank you mystery quest!
What a wild ending! Loved it!
So bleak and dark, it was amazing.
I loved it Tom!, hope you had a nice holiday 😎
I hope Ben's character returns in future versions of this. Just the weird combination all the things lol.
Bens killing it
Prepping to run my first CoC one shot, been enjoying listening to these!
I'll write this as more of a comment on the scenario since I enjoy both Tom and the players. With how little information the characters were working with it didn't feel like there were any recognizable paths for the players to take and they were sort of flailing around hoping something would stick. I could see why other than Ben the players sort of almost gave up on the roleplaying aspect because things were so out of wack with no coherent throughline. The monster didn't do much in the finale and the end was abrupt. I liked episode 1 and episode 2 so I think there was a very decent scenario setup but the end just didn't match the intensity of elisode 2 bug fight.
yeah I am sorta hoping for a post game for this one, because it feels like it came to a head really quickly. They handled it as well as they could but the material was weird. It felt like the scenario was very rail-roaded, and I want to know what else they could have done to help them understand what was happening, why, and how to stop it 'safely'.
The concept of "the juice" was a lot of fun, but it seemed like from the moment the game started they were on a short timer. They got 1 piece of information, which led them to a warehouse where the final ritual was already just a few moments away from being completed. They reacted incredibly quickly, but still almost failed.
Was there an option to learn more at some point? was there any other information they missed? Who were the cultists? Why was the accountant part of it? What is the juice? What was added to the bad batch of juice, and why?
The scenario seems like "uhh, there's a bad drink, and uh a bug, um anyway there's a ritual, um stop it with brute force I guess?"
@@RyNsWoRLD I read someone's review of the scenario and it was pretty much the same thing. From what I understand now this scenario is from a series meant to be very short and railroaded.
Juice juice juice
Going by what went down in the previous episodes, I wouldn't be surprised if the thumbnail depicted the two surviving characters. 🤣
Bah im envious enough you have 4 people to play CoC with regularly
... wait, it's over??? That was a short one, I want more CoC!
That was amazing.
"Chai-tinous" end💀
Ben's character was definitely a de leonist
Lets gooo I just got cold drink out of the fridge!
Time for some Juice.
So good.
Another banger, but I need Simon and or Lydia to make a cameo
Ben spitting facts
🎉 a good start to the afternoon 🎉
God damn l’m ready for some insectoid nightmare horror!
Love fridays
Ben the anti-capitalist, lockpicking, molotov throwing accountant is a mood
Are you covered in blood running from a cockroach monster? Or are you on a mystery quest!
The after work smoke sesh about to hit extra good along side this banger of a series 👌 🙌 😎
Historical fact at 31:30 roughly:
Car keys, as we think of them today, were not a thing in the 1920's. Not for starting the ignition in a car anyway, lockable car doors began showing up around this time, but the ignition of the car's engine was done by crank (on older models) and by button. Naturally, car theft was quite common, and even "cheap" models like Ford T, was still rather expensive for the time.
The first ignition car key did not appear until around 1950.
i miss the intros. still very good 🙂
man i gotta get me some juice
fire episode
Tom, you look fresh in this intro
I like this shorter campaign format. Last one went in too long IMO
Tom, get Lewis et co play Tales from the Loop

Bam
Good on Tom for adding meaning to something Flax did out of pure boredom.
What do you mean?
@@kataihallenchrish I don't know either, I don't think he's bored, he's still playing quite committed. It's just that he's playing this guy like he's taken more than a few knocks to his sanity so he's gone a bit off the rails lmao
I wouldn't say boredom. Pyrion is actually one of the most invested role-players I've ever seen in the Yogs. It was clear from the visual cues Tom was giving about the light and how the bug "needed them alive" that maybe dying would mean interrupting the ritual. He bet on his death ending things and that's exactly what happened.
He literal says as much in the first few seconds of the post game chat.
There have never been any intros what are you talking about?
cool
Yippeee!!!
🔖 55:23
I love Harry O’Brian thinks he needs to go faster and just rolls through the warehouse doors like a rocket,l and almost kills himself… because he was bored haha
I don't know why people keep saying he's bored, it's pretty clear to me Pyrion is playing his character like a guy who's gone a bit off the rails, he's taken more than a few hits to his sanity lol
@@Blisterdude123 i think they were talking about the character and not pyrion
The idea of a communist accountant is hilarious
hey Tom, idk if you'll see this or how helpful it is with my limited knowledge of blocking specific advertisers from your channel but I've gotten several ads from prageru on your videos recently that make me feel uncomfortable as a member of the lgbtq.
You'll be alright. Being exposed to brief, harmless events that make you uncomfortable will help you grow and tackle your mental health issues.
@@BattleBro77 prageru spreads harmful racist and homophobic rhetoric that I know goes against values and messages the Yogscast stands for based on charities they support and the members themselves. I fully understand and accept that somethings make you uncomfortable and that's okay to feel, however listening to people incorrectly claim that my life and the lives of others are either of lesser value or undeserving of basically human rights because they have a different skin tone, sexual orientation, or experience the identity of their gender differently is not the kind of uncomfortable sensation people should be forced to experience.
@@BattleBro77 given your other comment on this page i don't doubt you're an avid subscriber to them :)
I’m sure if they see this and can do it, they will get rid, fuck PragerU everyone with morals hates those assholes
@@BattleBro77 Hey man, it would really mean a lot to me if you deleted your youtube account.
scroll the clock forward far enough and as a species we have either adopted some form on social/commu policy or we're dust. Capitalism is proving to be...............problematic.
hope you girls kiss and make up
I don't like Tom's long winded, trying to think of a description, explainations. I don't want to hear "i like tom, i like his voice" he is fine i like him. But get to the point, it is like he is a tiny bit dyslexic and can't formulate a straight forward thought. Get to the point.
The first episode is UNBAREABLE on podcast, its uncut and long winded talking, even more of Tom's "it is sort of an uuuuhh like a table, and under this umm table, there are these, 4 wooden, uh legs, holding the table up" Barely any playing.
Loved when the players interact, and play the game... like the car not being cheap, completely going against pflax's plan out of no where.
edit: 27:00 observe tom begin to do what i talk about, and pyrion is bored scribbling 28:28 and he is actually in the game, not just watching people play a game.
you've clearly never DMed a ttrpg game
