You’re coming back to watch your favorite show, oh boy the new week’s episode! You’re sat in your comfy chair, your snacks are all ready, drink in hand and you start the show. But…that’s strange. Your show started and there wasn’t a funny intro. You rewind thinking you just missed it, but…it’s not there. Did they change your favorite show?! Or are you on a…mystery quest?!
Pyrion is an absolutely incredible addition to any Mystery Quest. He is just so involved in the roleplay and is simply hilarious. Would love to see him in a lot more content from this channel.
Yeah, he always seems to really enjoy it, I'd guess the main reason he isn't in more is he doesn't actually live in Bristol like the rest of the yogs, so he has to record in batches when he's in town.
This is the exact crew I love seeing in mystery quest. Ben is one of those yes and players that also like to just think of extra things the dm might not have. Pyrion is a lovely role player. Seeing as he leads the yearly rust RP, and Lewis also yes and's things and usually takes things in a wild direction the three of them together is always gonna be a wild ride
Sry random comment just saw your profile as i was arguing with someone that huey long was right to be autocratic in deep south lousiana as it was such a corrupt and unequal society in the 30s. 😂
@@lukasmadrid1945yes, because autocrats have famously been really good at rooting out corruption, and not being or becoming wildly corrupt themselves. All modern examples agree with this.
@@kamikazesopp so your answer is what? Huey long was the only one to go against the klan and the racist democratic establishment in louisiana. No one else did this, and he needed to use tough tacitcs as they people he was up against literally went on race riots and lynchings, im guessing after the civil war you would be happy that reconstruction was halted as it was thess "authoritarian" thing to do, let the racists estabishment do what they want
While I know that the usual beginnings aren't happening because Tom is in Japan, I would be completely fine if it was done only once per series if it means the bit has longevity and doesn't burn our boy out. Love the series and channel, I hope the vacation is recuperating for our favorite bearded boy!
ha, I didn't realise that's why he's not doing the intros (I assumed they'd be recorded at the same time as the recap, or done as a big batch). I just love doing a little shuffle to the intro music, you just can't not dance to it, no matter the "or are you on a Mystery Quest!?" lead-in.
I love Call of Cthulu, especially when the Yogscast plays it. However, CoC's social skills are weird because most games define the skills by what they're used for (lying, convincing, befriending), but CoC defines them by the method. Fast Talk isn't JUST about lying, but it's about improv, Persuade is about using logic, and Charm is about using your personality. So, in the first scene, Charm would have ABSOLUTELY been appropriate.
Music & sfx absolutely killed it! Particularly once the action started, even more so in the shift from Harry playing piano to unworldly music. And, the muffled gunfire when switching to Che's perspective! 👩🍳🤌💋
That was fun! A bar fight, then an insect massacre, then a chase scene! I wonder what the papers will make of this (there was an NPC reporter in the bar if I recall). Amazing play!
Man this campaign so far has been just like my real life, I drink some vodka and suddenly I am inflicted with terrible visions of ruined worlds (my toilet bowl)
How Lewis responded to the fistfight makes me think he's been in a few before 😅 His utter shock at Pyrion trying to de-escalate the situation when the guy is on the floor and Lewis just says "I'm obviously going to take advantage of him being down and hit him"
Another fab episode! Loving the feel of this campaign already, 4 specialists at the top of their fields being used by an unknown force is so engaging. Also huge props to the sound mixing! Keeps me so immersed, and I love jazz haha
Crazy episode. So many revelations, so many cool moments for the players! Great as always to see the Keeper (Tom) so invested in letting his players achieve cool things. And the sound design for this particular adventure is amazing, a cut above the others. Also I find it hilarious that Lewis managed to slug Doyle, the important tough NPC, and immediately got floored by the Mook.... very amusing and on-brand.
Personally i liked the intro, but i think i like the lack of intro more. I listen to these while at work, and often the autoplay would switch episodes on me and i wouldnt notice until after the intro ended.
I love this channel so much. This the only Patreon I sponsor, not just for the behind the scenes/ after campaign chats, but I just want to see these continue.
This series is already one of my favourites, Pyrion and Lewis makes such a great combo and their characters are so engrossing. I can't wait to see more and to see what shenanigans Ben and Briony will get up to!
I love the begining story bit, but if it's alot of work or if Tom(and/or the team) is getting burned out i'm fine with it being gone. All for more mystery quest longevity.
This campaign is probably my favorite so far. The concept of peering back in time to the prehistoric world and seeing that it isn't just dinosaurs and cavemen but... like these otherworldly, incomprehensible monstrosities... that's a cool and creepy thing. Also the visions of the future, seeing humanity enslaved by these weird cone things... very weird and cool lol
olympic slugger lewis and olympic runner pyrion lol.. ill NEVER get bored watching these... and who ever is in charge of the sound, you're absolutely killing too!!! love these episodes!!!
I'm absolutely loving this! amazing DMing! I only wish you'd release this in one mega episode so I didn't have to wait for more, but I don't know how that would effect views and the wonderful editing
Have we dropped the small teaser story intros completely? Did you run out of scenarios that would work for a 30 second intro already? I miss them, man. Sure, it was 30 seconds of an hour long video, but they really added a unique flavor! I think many of us miss them, please bring them back
Loads of scientists and philosophers have said the same. The fact of the matter is there is always luck involved, in so far as us humans are not really in control...
I imagine two points of luck in maths would be incorrectly working out a total to be 7, but then you misread the 7 as a 1 and 1 was the right answer all along.
I would argue that dreams are not determined by luck at all. Our subconscious seems to be a sponge for the 'ambient information' that goes on around us, and so for a scientist or mathematician, their livelihoods would most certainly be reflected in dreams. If a plumber had a dream that gave them the equation for dark matter to dark energy and it proved to be right - that would be lucky.
Luck can help with maths in the sense that you may decide to try a specific method of solving a problem and that just happens to be the easiest, most efficient proof
I love this content .. everything is just epic. I want Netflix / Amazon to pick this up and imagine this same format but with a call out window that is an animated version of the narrated action at times . I would watch the hell out of that...actually I watch the hell out of this ... thankyou thankyou thankyou to everyone involved

Agreed, he really gets into his character and you can see him enjoying it, I think Trott is the same with his too, both are great in-character

yup its awesome
Yeah I loved the frenetic jazz with the weird synth sounds as the creature was there

The choral singing as the creature was appearing was insanely atmospheric

Guess I was wrong to underestimate Lew Lew the slugger
You were unfamiliar with his game to be sure

You know when Lewis and/or Pyrion are in the game, it's only a matter of time until either grabs a gun and goes crazy :D
Call of Cthulhu never dispapoints. Hoping for you guys to bring some more classics like The Haunting and Lightless Beacon. Great content as always

Delta green is high on the list of games coming so stay tuned
Wasn’t sure about the first episode but this was great and a special shout out to the amazing sound design!
Feels unique to see a Call of Cthulhu that is so action packed.
Don't know if that's the scenario or just Lewis going a bit Ameebo, but I like it.

Another good episode. This combination of Call of Cthulhu and talented role players is great!
